UK, Ireland / Getting married to a Polish Citizen in the UK [371]

Yep, but this law is no longer valid.

unfortunately it is.this law will change in 2007 but you still have to pay the difference in taxes for years:2004/2005,2005/2006,2006/2007(in my situation it would be 2000pounds for each year!!!).uk residency helps but only form the date u get it.

Polonia / How do Poles perceive at SAUDIS people from Saudi Arabia? [24]

How you are looking to SAUDES people from Saudi Arabia?
Are you welcoming them in your country?

a few thoughts that croossed my mind;
1.rich
2.love horses
3.very strict(religion)
3.funny dress
4.far away
5.definately not a holiday destination
i haven't met any saudi arabian people so that it's difficult to have an independent opinion about the people.however things showed on tv and told by people indicate that we would have not a lot in common.

my friend told me a story about a woman-wife of someone who worked in saudi arabia who could only walk without head scarf in a camp they lived. she had to be careful when walking close to the fence cos people outside would throw rocks at her for not wearing a head scarf.

grzegorz is right.christian churches are not allowed in this country.this indicates that you arent very tollerant(as a country).

Law / Want to start Indian cafe in Poland.. [71]

Well, 'miranda,' I think it was a mistake on my part to talk to you again. I've just read your posting where you praise a type, alleging he's from England and bragging he kicked out to the street his three Polish tenants. Jestesz wynarodowiona szmata. I think such espana is incomparably greater friend of Poland than you (even though he and me are having fight occasionally). Poszla won, szmata.

if you read this post properly u'd understand why this polish lads were kicked out.they were being idiots as there are many like them in the uk.i always defend polish people cos a lot of idiots just generalize but not in this case.defending them just because they were polish is just stupid.calling M szmata just because that not only indicate that you are an idiot but also narodowy-giertychowsko-kaczorowo-radiomaryjny-ojcoworydzykowy kutas(if u r really a pole u will understand it,but i doubt it).

get lost

Love / Polish Girl and American Guy? [33]

nauczyciel,surely i have never met u or will meet you in the future.i judged u on what you wrote in 2 posts.
firstly.in one of them you told us your story about your collegues making excuses ect.
you don't even try to understand why this people didn't want to go out every week with you.just moan about them.you told us that u went out before so that it wasn't about you but about how often you go out.you should know that most of the polish people don't go out evbery week because;

-this is not part of our culture-we like spending time at home
-lots of people can't afford it
-they have something else to do ect.
then u say that other teachers started talking in polish after that.what a horrible thing!!!but remember,u live in poland,so that you shoul make an effort and learn our language instead of complaining about polish people talking in polish.

the whole post is just ignorant and unpleasent.
another post'about your exgirlfriend.it seems that the only thing you can remember about her was that you had to pay for everything.lol.what did you expect?her to invite you to a restaurant and pay for a dinner or maybe for your tickets to athe theatre or a bunch of flowers you gave her?this is not the way we do it in poland dude.

you are an ignorant for me.that's it.

Love / Polish Girl and American Guy? [33]

If you come here..... just be prepared to pay for everything, all the time. She is an only child, and never knew what it is like to share things. She was kinda a B+itch most of the time. I would have never treated her the way she treated me if she came to visit me for a month.

nauczyciel i read a few of your posts including this one and you know,it's not a big suprise you cant find any friends in poland.

read your post again and after, this;

I wouldn't take this advice. It would all depend on the person you're visiting. When I visit my GF, she pays for most because I'm a visitor. I do take her out for dinner-cinema and she still offers to split...I refuse of course Her family also pays for a few things too. It would be strange unfortunate to have to pay for everything yourself. They can work by the way, it just takes a lot of patience and trust

UK, Ireland / UK theory part of driving test in Polish language? [23]

Hang on a minute, are you saying that a driving test in England can be taken in Polish????

all the procedures and signs in our company have been translated in to different languages and i don't think it is offensive to the english emloyees.yes,we are in england,in the english compamy but since a lot of our workforce is non-english it helps them to understand our procedures and signs better and accidents don't occur so often now.

taking an exam in polish,italian ect is correct.a lot of the foreign people are good drivers but don't speak good english.this is a barrier.why should they wait a few years to learn the language first? most of the signs are international,they don't need to be changed it's just a few basic rules which should be learnt.

remember that in some countries signs are written in the native language and in english too.would you like to have learn arabic first to pass a driving test in saudi arabia?

UK, Ireland / Is it possible to buy Wisniowka in UK? Polish drink. [10]

As I grew up my grandmother would make Wisniowka I new it as Vishnufka

i think there are two kinds of wisniowka.
1.very strong and very cheap alcoholic drink (about 18%)-good for students:)
2.another wisniowka is quite expensive and i think is called "Nalewka babuni"-not very good for students:)

Polonia / I'd like to go to Mexico... [47]

I think that was Juarez. The last report I saw claimed that these women were stolen for their internal organs which were sold on the market. Anything for money I guess.

That's Juárez and Chihuahua.

yep i remember now. this is a horrible story but i am not really afraid as so many people are going there every year and nothing happens.tunisia is not very tourist friendly country but i never got into trouble there so i think in mexico will be the same.

a bird is a bird,you know:)

I've also been to Tijuana and I don't recommend it at all...unless you're looking for a donkey show.

is it not the city where hundreds of women went missing and even a few years of CIA investigation didn't solve the mistery?

June Id say in the 90s humid and it rains alot

you are right sledz.i've checked the weather for june.monthly rainfall is about 25cm which is a half of the year's rainfall in poland!

mmm...it is a hard nut to crack.
