Love / The sounds of Polish porn [74]

I noticed that late night TV channels show naked women.

Maybe adverts of these stupid hotlines ? Besides there are tones of porn in the internet, so anyone may find It any time...

USA, Canada / No US Visa Waiver for Poles - 8/9/07 [96]

Many years ago I packed my bag and took my passport and went and visted my Uncle in South Africa.

Don't forget about that super duper 3 days trip to France. Just wow.

USA, Canada / No US Visa Waiver for Poles - 8/9/07 [96]

but not for Poland.

Simply because too many Poles break the rules. I don't get the whole thing. Why is It so important ? Dollar is so weak that there's no sense to work there anymore. Tourism ? Most of people, who can afford that will get a visa without problems. Visiting relatives ? Make them come here and spend cash here, that's a better deal for us.

Look at Israelits. They need visas too but instead of crying about that they suck out cash, Bush only a week ago decided to give them $35 billion - that's exactly the same what we should do instead of making a mess out of some 3rd rate issue.

Worst thing the British did was allowing the Poles to work here without visas.

Worry about your job in Tesco ?

Work / working as teacher in Warsaw [15]

If you aren't a native speaker in any of them then It may be difficult. They want native speakers, not just someone, who knows the language. I think that opportunities in case of French could be better, It's much less popular than English but on the other hand there's fewer teachers - in case of English there are many people from UK or USA teaching here. And in case of non EU workers... I don't know details as I'm Polish in Poland... but If some company has a serious reason to hire someone from outside EU then It's rather a matter of paper work.

Law / Need info on "Komex" [8]

I don't know but It looks quite serious.

There are "wywiadownie gospodarcze", which can find informations about companies. That cost some money of course but If serious cash is involved then It's worth It sometimes.

Life / Army National Service in Poland [95]

How can you not want to serve your country, that is like deserting, these people are cowards!!!

You are talking crap. I've been in the army - not a tragedy but I'm not surprised that most of people don't want to go there and you are from the country, which has had proffesional army since decades, so you really have no right to discuss these things.

Real Estate / Gliwice estate agents / caravan parks [6]

Unfortunately its all a bit of a rush to sell our property here in the UK and trying to find a property in or around Gliwice.

In my opinion you should think about renting your property in UK... for no more than half of the rent there you should rent something similar here. On the other hand prices here will be growing (no so fast anymore but still) so If you stay here for many years or forever then that could be a mistake.

I did not know that Gliwice was an industrial city so that is nice to know.

Most of upper Silesia is one big industrial area, which used to be seriously polluted but It's much better now.

Law / Importing Alcohol Into Poland - any limits? [15]

There are limits on alcohol and cigarets even inside of EU but they are large, from outside of EU I think that you may bring only 1l of strong alcohol or 2l of wine (for one person) but I'm not sure about It. You may take more but you would have to pay some money.
