History / What Happened in the Danzig Corridor 1939? Poles Slaughtering Germans? [133]

Wermacht and SS often worked together

SS and Wehrmacht had a peculiar love-hate relationship.Wehrmacht adored the SS when they sacrificed themselves as first line warriors to save Wehrmacht divisions from collapse and hated them for the crimes of certain SS divisions among population.

In concentration camps and many other facilities like the ones producing missiles(where hundreds of thousands of prisoners died) everything was under control of SS.SS had about 1 million soldiers at the end of war and they had the most diverse operational activities. However the Russians in Nyremberg did not manage to get a convict of SS as a criminal organization,in order to proceed to massive arrests of all their members as a part of denazification.

UK, Ireland / Statistics: How many Polish people in the UK? [23]

you fail to notice that being registered as unemployed and being unemployed isn't actually the same thing. A lot of people, prior to Poland’s accession to EU, claimed to be unemployed and at the same time worked illegally

That was already included. Go to the GUS site and find It yourself.

You are telling me that number of polish immigrants is less than 800000?(1.6 million minus 600000 minus hundreds of thousands registered before but not registered after 2004).O.K,I accept it.

History / What Happened in the Danzig Corridor 1939? Poles Slaughtering Germans? [133]

If German pulled 1/2 of their Wehrmacht forces in 1942 (9,580,000) to kill and cremate

The job was not done by Wehrmacht.Wehrmacht was not a criminal organization. It was conducted by Einsatzgruppen and some SS(like Totenkopf).SS controlled concentration camps like Auschwitz,Treblinka etc.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

but just one street.

It is the known one because it is very central. There is the building of state university ''Lvivska Polytechnika''.After all Bandera was a cultured man.(just kidding).

Monument to Stepan Bandera in Lviv.Modern statue.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Sorry.Mistake.Yanukovic is the opposite side.I thought you wrote the opposite.Have you ever been in western Ukraine?Do you know what people say about Bandera?Do you think Timoshenko who is popular in the West will ever make a statement about UPA crimes? The guys were given recently pensions by Yushenko government. Is it because they represent only 1% of the population?

Ukraine is divided into two parts. It is obvious to anyone. The numbers in one part do not matter as long as the numbers in the other part are different.(Kiev is another zone).

If 95% of eastern Ukraine condemns UPA crimes,it is likely that they support soviet policy there as well. And it does not matter if 70% of western Ukraine is in favour of Bandera, although the population of this part is considerably lower.Either you accept Bandera,or you want the country split.

Love / Does she like me? - help needed please from any Polish girls.. [79]

Why don't you just ask her how she feels about you? If you're too shy to ask her in person, do it through an email or a letter. Just say something simple like, "are your feelings for me purely friendship or do you feel something more? I'm just curious."

I messed it up guys.. :-( ...I m soooo sad now...

I followed what Shewolf said

Are you serious, dude?Did you follow a woman's advice? It is the worst you could have done. She would give you this answer whether she liked you or not.

History / An Example of Falsifying Historical Facts and Degrading Poland [46]

Actually I read one of his books about Hitler and was surprised that he viewed everything from Hitler's perspective.I admit he is not objective but it is interesting to read sb who takes completely the one side disregarding all the others.

For me the best sources of what really happened in the war are the SS memoirs and the red army soldiers descriptions. If you read them, they agree on an awful lot of things. In fact both sides tell almost the same story.

Irving's point of view is that of the propagandist nazi, not the SS soldier or the Wehrmacht soldier.I think he is persecuted because of propaganda against Israel.

Anyway an English dared to do what no German did.The English are strange after all.

UK, Ireland / Statistics: How many Polish people in the UK? [23]

There were 600 thousand additional jobs created in 2004-2006 alone

If you can prove this and subtract the number of jobs lost in the same period you will build a strong case.
In my opinion a lot of Poles everywhere is a good thing.Polish work adds substantial value to economic development everywhere it exists.

UK, Ireland / Statistics: How many Polish people in the UK? [23]

2003:3.3 million people in Poland registered as unemployed.
2008:1.7 million people registered as unemployed.
The difference about 1.6 million people is the number of polish immigrants.(maybe 90% of them to UK).You can also find the rate of immigration by comparing unemployment data between 2004-2008.I am sure EU officials and businessmen spend a lot of time studying these data.

For example

fxstreet.com/news/forex-news/article.aspx?StoryId=21ef4199-f7af-48e1-9f09-7cf29c3f745b

You got R1a in England. This is good news.

UK, Ireland / Statistics: How many Polish people in the UK? [23]

Absurd. The population distribution is not similar everywhere. guess that there are areas with exremely high proportion of Poles and areas with no Poles at all.

My guess:You will never know the exact number of immigrants and absolutely never their distribution. It is not sth of interest for you,it is important for other persons who have interest in these numbers.

How would I estimate the number roughly. How much was the unemployment in Poland before 2004?21%.How much is it now?11%.This means that almost 10% of the working population has migrated.I suppose that 90% at least have migrated to UK.You get the number of all population of working age in Poland, divide by 9 and multiply by 90%.So you get roughly the number of polish immigrants in UK.

Yes,but you see all populations in slavic countries getting down.Ukraine has 10 million people less than 1991,Russia has almost 20 million less,Poland lost 2 million who emigrated,Serbia had losses in war, there is demographic problem. We need more Slavs to fill in the gaps.Increase of slavic birth rates in order to prevent third world invasion.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

that current ukranian president openly encouraged UPA's veteran's because "they have always fought for "nezalezhnost" (independence) of Velika Ukraina"?

They gave them pensions for their patriotic attitude during the war.Former red army soldiers who are also given pensions were outraged and the two groups collided violently in Kiev.

Bandera is very popular in western Ukraine. Many streets in Lvov are called Bandera street.

News / Polish "brainbox" comes back to Poland from the UK for a better education [77]

It is simple what happens. There are two ways basically to build an argument. The one is to support a thesis. The other is to destroy the thesis of the opponent.Let's call the second tactique communist style argument.

For example:Russia faces accusations about lack of democracy.Answer first style.Russia tries to prove that it respects every term related to democratic issues.

Second style:Russia says:''Oh,we see what kind of democracy you built in Iraq.''
This is communist style argument.Attack on the opponent's thesis.Or:accusation:Russia does not respect human rights.Answer communist style:''USA suppresses the rights of African-Americans.You are hypocrites''.

When an English faces communist style argument,I have noticed that he refuses to discuss probably thinking that terms of discussion are being violated and tends to answer ad hoc, that is with attacks on the person.

For example.Typical dialogue.
English(supporting thesis):Poland is a racist country
Pole:(communist style):UK is the real racist. You oppress everyone, most of all the Poles. You are hypocrites.
English:(ad hoc):You are an idiot.F#ck you silly Pole.

History / How Vanya won the Battle of Grunwald. [18]

they won the battle

The Germans admitted that braveness of russian soldiers in this battle was beyond usual. They resisted the Teuton knights attack when the lines almost collapsed by the shameful retreat of lithuanian cavalry.Russians stayed in their positions and fought fanatically despite their lower quality weapons. This saved the battle for the Commonwealth cause the Poles managed to reach the retreating Lithuanians and bring them back again. So the russian contribution was decisive.Of course they did not make the bulk of the allied army, however they made the critical power difference that determined the result.

Keep in mind that the Germans who never forget and always want to restore honor called the battle in 1914 battle of Tannenberg deliberately although it did not take place exactly in Tannenberg. In this battle they faced and defeated russian troops.

News / Polish "brainbox" comes back to Poland from the UK for a better education [77]

if you come up with an arguement that is so abstract and illogical that the person you are debating with just has a wtf expression on their face you tend to win the arguement... even if its by default

It is industrial thinking.A Westerner would think. How many people can I convince with this argument?Let's say 95%.This means, the argument is good.It is good because it convinces the average person since it relies on common sense.

A Pole would think. Can I win this argument against this particular person?Yes.Because he cannot stand up to the level of complexity. How many people can I convince with this argument?I don't care.Even if it is 5% I don't care.Because the goal is to win against the particular person. So he does not make mass production, common arguments but highly refined, detailed, abstract, conceptual arguments for local, limited use.

For the Westerner all this seems impractical and waste of resources and time. Why bother for sth that cannot apply to more than 10% of population?etc.

poles tend introduce concepts that are irrelevant to the argument or, as in your case, introduce something totally unrelated

The concepts are not irrelevant to the argument, however they are not derived from common sense. They are forced outside common sense. It is not that they do not have value but they cannot have an industrial production effect eg influencing the masses,so the practical mind disregards them as unrelated.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

If so, they can pay compensation to Polish citizens robbed by Soviet policy.

?Poles were considered to be winners in the war.You should ask for compensations by the defeated forces.Did Americans or Britsih pay compensations to French for the bombardment of France during Normandy operations or between 1940-1944?Did they pay compensations to Italy which was another winner? This the war.Defeated pay compensations to winners.Ask Germans to pay you for the destruction of Warsaw.

How does Volhynia slaughter make any excuse to Russian criminals ?

Because the russian criminals slaughetered the butchers of UPA in Volhynia.Till now the tension is between red army soldiers and UPA soldiers. They hit each other when they meet.(The West waits for the rest of them to die in order some progress to be made).
