Food / What to eat in Poland? (we like rice, spicy food, and chicken) [20]

"NIE! Nie jemy takich mongolskich potraw" was my fiancee's answer. It says it all really. I'm sure that some exist but not on a large scale. Filia is one :)

Related: Sona Masuri or Alternate rice in Warsaw

What is the sona masuri alternate we get in polish stores in Warsaw. There is rice available in Indian stores but not less than 9PLN/kg. I'm looking for cheaper alternate.

Jeela karra masuri

in fact the Polish equivalent is Jeela Karra Mazury :-)

Curry powder can be used with rice. Spicy food? Hmm...you can find Thai samba oelek in Tesco. Also, tacos in Złoty Kurczak can be hot too, though not very. If you are in Warsaw, there is a Thai restaurant and Indian restaurant in Wrocław.

Chicken can be bought in many places and there are many sauces to add to it. Pomysł Na is a nice range of sauces for chicken.

Love / Idea on trading Polish women for oil fields or something? :) [15]

Decorator and Lone Stranger are right. The power of BS propaganda is incredible. I rarely turn my head these days and often look away. Their auras are all wrong, those stuck-up toffs. I love my wee kitten :)

Love / Indian in relationship with a Polish girl [27]

I'd do the same, flirty types tend to remain so and pick up a string of phone numbers.

If she is short of work, tell her that you have a job for her, a blow job ;0 ;)

Love / My Perfect Love Story so I thought [73]

Exactly, just rise above it. Life changes us and, unless you live in a shed, will continue to do so. There are plenty more fish in the sea. Always recite Desiderata in times of strife.

Love / Polish girls are the funniest [26]

Not nearly as funny as this, No to Sru!! This is the new TV commercial for Heya. My fiancee loves it but it doesn't include cosmetics so may not attract major interest from others ;) ;)

News / Poland among the greatest enemies of Russia [112]

Crow seems to forget about the Croats. Why not focus on their nice ways rather than the Ustashe as he tends to?

Torq is right, the EU will be a Slavic Union of sorts. Also, the Poles had nothing to do with Mujas, that should be clear.

Love / Polish girls are the funniest [26]

I've seen funnier paint drying spells. The ones here can't see beyond Polish hee-hee humour. I'm becoming more and more of the opinion that they are almost as insular as the Japanese and that's really saying sth. The Brown Nose Brigade :)

News / Poland among the greatest enemies of Russia [112]

Well, it comes as no surprise as Kaczyński virtually orchestrated that anti-Russian demonstration last year, built on lies and opportunism. Still, Tusk and Putin get on ok.

UK, Ireland / Irish Primary schools to teach Polish [223]

Cost effectiveness is a major concern. Sth may be desirable but that doesn't make it the right thing to do. Net benefit is an important consideration. I believe in integration into the community but don't expect everyone to take part.

News / 14 year old rape victim from Warsaw denied abortion! [348]

Super commentary, jaind. Sth so fundamental as eliminating the symbol of rape (unwanted baby) is bread and butter in the civilised world. The RCC is rooted in anachronistic ways and 95% of people here subscribe to those very ways.

Talk about regression :(

Je m'appelle Sean. J'habite Gliwice en Polen. Aujord hui est vendredi, LOL.

See, what a dogs dinner I made of that ;)

It's not the height of bad manners at all. I know sb who has lived here for 12 years and hasn't learned Polish. Still, he gets by in other ways. It is preferable to learn it though.

News / Poland among the greatest enemies of Russia [112]

NATO was guaranteed security in the eyes of the Poles, Crow. How can you blame them for that?

Crow, in the eyes of Poles, Russia and the Soviets are one and the same. Why do you think they are asking Russia for compensation?

One more thing, can't you separate the people from the government? Eurabia and NATO would be the last things on your mind when dancing with a pretty Polish chick. NATO would then mean Need Action Tonight Ok

Didn't escape with it???? Eh, Katyn? They are a constant enemy, Crow.

Crow, being in with Germany and Turkey is incidental. How many bilateral treaties do you know of between them?

Well, good for your grandmother, I'm sure you are proud ;)

Oppression? Hardly! We may get a vote on independence in 2010. Why don't you come and live in Poland, Crowie?

UK, Ireland / Irish Primary schools to teach Polish [223]

I mean future generations of Irish people. The EU was very much desired by certain people and closer cooperation will become the norm. Just imagine, they will be able to converse in bars and build cordial relations. Is that so bad?

They are just using their rights, though. Life here is pretty bad for many. The Poles pride themselves on their education system yet pay badly. I will soon have to pay 2500PLN for taxes, rent, ZUS and my accountant. Many don't even get that after tax/ZUS.

The EU is a big club, RN. We have to give and take. The new Irish are being prepared for working with Poles in Ireland and Poland, what's wrong with that?

News / Poland among the greatest enemies of Russia [112]

Crow, how can you say that? Many Poles have been killed at the hands of Russians. People become enemies for far less. Many there still have imperialistic ambitions and see Poland as sth like a fly.

Time to drop the Slavic romanticism and get in touch with reality.

UK, Ireland / Irish Primary schools to teach Polish [223]

RN, it's a reality in Britain. Many Poles are mingling with other immigrants to learn English. Many are mixing in order to learn Polish. Language exchange is only natural.

The Irish travel far and wide, why can't the Poles do the same and set themselves up there? What freedoms do you lose by Poles being there? Irish and UK people should really be expanding their linguistic competences.

RN, of the languages you know, how many do you use on a daily basis? I know 3 and can say that I use 2. The other I have friends to practise with.

Drugs? No. You didn't know it was optional just a couple of hours back when I asked ya. So, let me get this straight, you have a problem with choice???

Should I be giving you my bank account now?! ;) ;)

If loads of pupils learn as standard, they may want to use it. There are many like PD and I who feel disillusioned with the fact that we couldn't use what we had learned.

Many friendships are being made in Ireland and many might want to come back to Poland with their buddies.

It augurs well for future generations of Irish who wish to ply their trade in Poland. Poland suffered minor setbacks only but just needs to maintain the potential for outside investors to keep pumping funds in. Should it remain an attractive prospect, new waves of Irish can come here and set up shop.

I think many Poles would like that.

I go along with PD, Polish is a living language which can be used on the streets/shops. I don't imagine many Germans and French live in Ireland.

Well, let's look at the potential for use. RN, how many Germans and French are there in Ireland? How many go on to work at an EU institution? Do you feel like Polish is being imposed on Ireland? Now you know how the Serbs felt with everyone imposing on them.
