Travel / Visiting Sopot this summer? [36]

Hey Shawn... would be great to have you and the family about for a while... and you can tell her inside of the doors that Mokwy 14a is cheaper, better situated and more kiddie friendly than Holiday Inn :)

Were you then in Sopot?

might well have been... :)

Sopot is one of the nicest places I've ever been to

yeah... me too... ive thought long and hard about what exactly it is that attracts me to the place and there just seems too many things to list or even know where to start...

I hope that families will feel comfortable and welcome there - I definately do not want to exclude them and some people with kids have alread booked for the summer...

I would prefer to call the atmosphere 'social' rather than 'party'...

Travel / Visiting Sopot this summer? [36]

I've just taken a look at BubbaWoo's website and to be honest I don't think his prices are unreasonable.

Mokwy 14a is priced as a mid-range place to stay... whilst it doesnt provide the standard you might expect from some of the top-end hotels, it provides a lot more than you would get from budget options

Mokwy is a unique place to stay in Sopot and is aimed at a specific market - it is priced accordingly...

UK, Ireland / Heading to London.Whats there to see? [45]

I point blank refuse to drive into the congestion zones.

i guess thats the point... and all this plumf about charging us in relation to how many miles we drive is a bit naughty... and they have just introduced a 2O mph speed limit in my 'hood... moan moan moan etc etc

UK, Ireland / How expensive is living in UK/London for one person? [23]

might be able to point you in the right direction lef...

I might say add that what you are offering is pretty plain and expensive for Polish standards

i think you will find my prices are reasonable for peak season for a central sopot location... what are you expecting to pay for the short term rental?

Travel / Getting from Wroclaw to Krakow [15]

I have researched the train but get mixed answers on safety and reliability

very wise move... polish trains are to be avoided at all costs... very unreliable, never run on time and are relics of the 19th century... they are also frequented by bands of craven banditos who specifically target foreigners, especially americans...

get a taxi, shouldnt cost you more than $5OO... well worth it...

News / EU or America - which country is better to work now? [56]

ok... but didnt we recently establish that youre not a real american... ;)

as for the food... pretty much the best stuff i ate was in a hippy wholefood place that ranj took me to... and where i ate very good healthy hippy wholefood... the rest of the stuff might have tasted nice but it left me feeling bloated and then hungry again shortly after...

as for car... a big SUV...

everything is so cheap for a start... accommodation, food, drink, car, clothes, entertainment... and life is just easy... hence the fatties... fall out of bed, eat your oversized sugar coated breakfast, drink your oversized coffee, squeeze into your oversized car, relax into the oversized driving seat, rest your belly on the steering wheel, flip the car into drive and lean a foot against the gas call a friend and enjoy the ride... down an oversized road... absolutely no effort involved... easy...

But you're assuming that people just move for the money

of all the countries ive moved to it never been for the money... maybe i should change my priorities...

one thing that struck me on my recent visit state side was just how easy people have it over there...

Law / What do Poles think of Chinese products? [49]

i dont consider using IMs as bad practice, they are valuable communication tools, but very few companies will use a generic IM system to communicate with their clients

Law / What do Poles think of Chinese products? [49]

using a generic email account and wanting to appear anything more than a very small operation is not a wise move... if you are part of a larger company, as the OP is claiming, why doesnt he have a company email

using skype etc is totally different slwkk

News / Some Poles burning American flag [299]

splendid idea... ive got a couple of brewsks in the fridge... bring round the 12 and we can sit on the roof taking pot shots...

alternatively... we can drink our brewsks in the back garden and wait until they come a-thievin... then do a tony on them... bury them under the patio... splendid...
