hi all

some of you already know but for those who dont i am running a guesthouse in sopot this summer and will happily offer a discount to registered forum members who would like to pay a visit during july or august...

cheack out the site

mokwy.com

the guesthouse is set around a secluded courtyard just 3 mins from the beach and monte cassino so is in the thick of things but offers a quiet place to chill when it all gets a bit hectic!

the whole guesthouse has been turned into an art gallery this summer with the photos of geo.d.oliver, the alaskan photographer behind the PHOTOhype.com project

you can check out his photos here

photohype.com/exhibition-3.htm

photohype.com/exhibition-1.htm

some of you have already make bookings and im looking forward to hanging out with y'all... if people want to have a forum get together i am happy to sort something out...

Good luck with the venture BW. The location sounds great. Not for us this summer as the Canadian Rockies beckon. How long is the season for? Might be tempted to take upyour offer for a later season break if you're still going to be open.

thanks guys :-)

How long is the season for?

season will last as long as the weather does - the sopot festival is at the start of september so at least as long as that

enjoy the rockies szarltka!

Sounds good. I just need to check with my full time travel arranger (aka missus). She tends to organise holidays years in advance and then drop little surprises on me with 2 weeks notice. There is also the little problem of a major system that I'm working on going live in stages between Sept & Oct.

According to the Daily Mail you should consider employing an English Plumber for this position!

Bubbawoo, I will be in Poland for some 4 months in early 2008, I tried to contact you on the phone number on the web site which you gave, but only got a recorded message.

I'm interested in securing a house to rent in the south east of Poland and also in the Sopot region for about 3 to 4 weeks. I must say it is hard to get the accommodation I was after ie a fully furnished house/apartment.

I might say add that what you are offering is pretty plain and expensive for Polish standards, although cheap when it comes to person living out of Poland.

Hate or love me I would be a excellent client, are you able to direct me to someone who is able to help me in this regard.

might be able to point you in the right direction lef...

i think you will find my prices are reasonable for peak season for a central sopot location... what are you expecting to pay for the short term rental?

Lef,

I've just taken a look at BubbaWoo's website and to be honest I don't think his prices are unreasonable. For an apartment in a central location in high season I don't think you can get an equivalent apartment for much less.

Perhaps you are looking at monthly rental figures for long term lets and expecting to pay those kind of rates but only for 3-4 weeks. Afraid you might have to pay "tourist rates". :(

Mokwy 14a is priced as a mid-range place to stay... whilst it doesnt provide the standard you might expect from some of the top-end hotels, it provides a lot more than you would get from budget options

Mokwy is a unique place to stay in Sopot and is aimed at a specific market - it is priced accordingly...

Suitable for a family? or a little bit of a party place?

I hope that families will feel comfortable and welcome there - I definately do not want to exclude them and some people with kids have alread booked for the summer...

I would prefer to call the atmosphere 'social' rather than 'party'...

Bubba, I visited Sopt two years back. We came by the ferry from Stockholm. Heard British English frequently in the streets and in pubs. Were you then in Sopot? Our landlady said she's got guests from England renting rooms every year.

Sopot is one of the nicest places I've ever been to. We even considered buying an apartment there (only £ 20000!).

might well have been... :)

yeah... me too... ive thought long and hard about what exactly it is that attracts me to the place and there just seems too many things to list or even know where to start...

We're heading to Wawa / Bialystok 8/3 thru 8/23. I really would like to visit the Tri-City area again for a few days, cos I only got to spend 1 real day there in 2001. Trying to convince my lovely bride that this would be the place to be. She's keen on the beach for the kiddy's, but doesn't want to spend a fortune. (Stayed at the Holiday Inn Gdansk last time - Wow!)

I'll keep you posted.

Hey Shawn... would be great to have you and the family about for a while... and you can tell her inside of the doors that Mokwy 14a is cheaper, better situated and more kiddie friendly than Holiday Inn :)
