you would be aware of interracial relationships,

I'm in Poland, but well aware of events in England.

two questions: based on your friends in interracial relationships.

How many are black man - white woman ?
How many are black woman - white man ?

I think you will find that the ratio is not equal.

Food / Non-Pork Polish Foods/Dishes [15]

Also another thing, one of my favourite meats is lamb, are there special lamb dishes i need to try?

Lamb seems to be ignored in Poland.

but i dont wanna be boring and eat chicken and veg everyday

We've had chicken at least three time this week :) It's the usual base for soup, is cheap and can be cooked in a number of ways. But I get your point.

Turkey breast is quite popular and a lot of mince here is actually turkey not beef.

Where on earth do you live? no offence but either you live in a town/city that is very secluded with 1 race only, in that case i suggest you should get out now and explore or you are blind, again, no offence.

I think you will find that in little, old England... even with it's high population of non-whites, the ratio of black women - white men is very low. So it stands to reason that a mixed race child from such a relationship would also be rare.

We have spoken about this before on the forum.

Real Estate / House Planning Permission in Poland !!! [27]

Maybe my Cad Skills ! may not be up to standard of some posters !!!

I'm sure that they are just fine.

Many cases would be of non compilance ! which would be a result of contractors

Contractors here can't work without spray foam, if there is a gap then fill it with foam. You'll find this all out when you get your house renovated.

Why do I have my doubts about this. It's nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Real Estate / House Planning Permission in Poland !!! [27]

All i know for now is that Poland is in for a wake up in regard to EU Regs.

Larger construction companies will be able to implement them, and will have to.

Smaller companies will do it the way they always have.

Real Estate / House Planning Permission in Poland !!! [27]

It would be at least as good as anything he could get here. Poland is not known for quality of design, materials and construction.

Things are getting better here. But after seeing some botched jobs they have a long way to go. Brickwork in Poland is about the worst I've ever seen.

Can an Architectural Tech. get licensed ? in Poland.

I don't know the answer to this.

You might have to wait for someone more knowledgeable to answer.

lodge planning applications

the architect does it for you

They must not in any circumstance be firmly affixed to the wall.

Also, make sure that any new brickwork is not tied in :)

UK, Ireland / Maternity and benefits in Scotland [16]

telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/5965963/Migrants-to-get-tips-on-claiming-benefits-on-path-to-citizenship.html

about what I said earlier.

Immigrants are to be given tips on how to access benefits and other public services - and learning how to claim will even help them earn British citizenship, under Home Office proposals.

I read today that the UK government will be issuing information, for foreign nationals, on how to claim. The coffers must be overflowing.

UK, Ireland / The difference in family life England and Poland. [9]

Does a Polish passport have the name of mother and father on it ?

No it doesn't. But of course the legal parent/parents must fill in the application document

Would he have to get permission from the mother to take the children on holiday to England ?

If he does not have permission it could lead to serious difficulties.

Do u know if there is any legal way he can put this right ?

All I know is that if he is paying child support and claims to be the father... then basically he is the father. But he'll need a lawyer to make it legal.

Is there any legal office he could go to for information about this ?

Sorry, I don't know. You'll have to do a wider internet search for an answer.

The main point is that it doesn't matter if he is the father or if the children have a passport. The children cannot leave Poland without the mother's permission.

Genealogy / Need photo from Wrzeszcz of childhood home. [53]

They don't even answer period.

I know it doesn't help, but this is not so unusual in the world of Genealogy/Family History.
How old is the cousin ? It might be worth looking for his/her children on facebook/nasza klasa etc. Assuming that they are over eighteen of course.

Have you done a name check at: moikrewni.pl/mapa/

I'm not sure that I understand.

If the father is not named then he is not the father.
As soon as he says he is the father... he becomes legally responsible.
If he is not the father then he can't take the children on holiday without permission.
If he is the father then he can play awkward games too. For example, he could block a passport application.

This all seems odd. Are you sure he is the father ? I feel I have to ask.

News / nasza klasa in the news. [11]

I found this interesting. It shows how abuse of the internet can lead to trouble... both for the website and the client.

polskieradio.pl/thenews/national/artykul113149_nasza_klasa_loses_lawsuit__to_pay_fine.html

The popular Polish social networking website Nasza-Klasa.pl has lost a lawsuit and will be required to pay 5,000 zloty (1,200 euro) damages for allowing a fictional profile of a Polish man to exist.

Joanna Gajewska, press spokesperson from the website, claims that the company does not agree with the decision of the Wroclaw District courts but will not release an official statement until Nasza-Klasa.pl receives the written decision.

Life / Warnings about Life in Poland [71]

Im just wondering what kind of people, places, crimes, scams and things in Poland I should be wary of?

Same as any other country.

there are loads of rapists apparently

someone was talking shite.

No1: I would definetly get lost as Polands forests and woods are very large in acres and that some are abandoned,

Many trails are marked. You could always carry a map... or buy a book with mapped cycle routes.

No2: There are wolves and bears that roam the woods. Is this true?

Only in the highlands. Most people would be wary of wild boar.

Genealogy / Why was our name changed [5]

he was born in a place called stolpin, which he said was in Krackow?

There are two places called Stolpin. The nearest to Krakow is on the border. Krakow seems to be the nearest big city and so may have been the admin area at the time. Hence, I'm from Krakow.

Genealogy / Question about surname changes during immigration [11]

Check the ship's manifest for next-of-kin. The original name may show up there.

It may also lead to a new name (grandmother's maiden name, for example, through a brother) or nothing.
