Food / Recipe for a Poland non-alcoholic drinks [9]

it obviously can't contain alcohol.

Why not? ;)

Don't be fooled to think all Polish drinks contain alcohol, up until just recently a cocktail in Poland contained no alcohol, what a rip off.

Probably the most common and maybe the best for your class is kompot.

Love / I married a Polish girl once. [21]

one of my favourite quotes is " I used to be romantic, up until I met women", the same of course goes for women to men.

To find someone compatible and whom you can have a long loving and fulfilling relationship with. It is actually the persons faults that we so love not their perfections, please be warned that it is also their faults that annoy us.

Life / Question about farming in Poland. [12]

What type of farming?
Many people here have a small plot on which they grow their own food for themselves, they still have other jobs that they earn their money from but it is tradition, custom or they just like growing things themselves, this is not so large that you would buy machinery for.

Then there are bigger farms which of course use machinery but it does not seem so long ago since horses was used and you can still find them in use but less and less.

Please note, I am an Irish man living in Poland and these statements are just my observations.

Love / What do Polish women look for in men? [53]

Is this size debate one of mass proportions?
It's all a load of hooey.

You would say that, sure you're hung like a donkey.

Love / I married a Polish girl once. [21]

some people shouldnt be defended.

I agree but i do find most of the time there are two sides to every story.
I was just wondering, I did not mean any badness, just after 9 years being together, I would think michaelmansun would have seen something coming or did she go bonkers when they arrived in America, this happens a lot and the fact she was not using protection might be a give away.

Love is blind and I know it might have been impossible for him to see it coming.

It is better to wait, to be alone,

Wait for what? I did not understand this, wait for someone better? wait out the rest of life?

I honestly do not believe marriage is for everyone. I and probably a lot of you, got pumped full of this Hollywood "happily ever after " crap.

Love / I married a Polish girl once. [21]

It is better to wait, to be alone, than to have a broken heart and a broken bank account.

So you don't agree with Shakespeare "it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all"?.
Sounds tough, what was her side of the story?

Life / You know when you have been too long outside of Poland when... [23]

didnt read PF at all when i was in Krakow

I think this is in the PF rules but it also states that you must tell us all about your trip.
It is in the rules, somewhere in the middle near the back, or was it at the front?

you miss Polish Trams

The last few years they have put in new trams, they look very good, still loads of the old trams. I have heard of a party tram that you can hire and have a party on. And then there is the really old tram which they put in Rynek Głowny, but it does not go anywhere it's just for tourist or something.

Life / Simplus - topup online or shop? [5]

Does anyone know if you can top up a simplus sim card online at all

It is definitely possible but it might depend on the network, you can even get someone else to do it for you.

how would you in polish ask for a top-up voucher for the card?

Just ask for "Kedit do carty".

lso would the number still work if not been top-up at all it picked up a signal last time i was in Poland, ive never actual registered the sim card had it over a year

Again it probably depends on the network but they sometimes have a life expectancy of 6 months if you do not top it up.
But I must say that my information could be out dated because I am sure it makes sence for the phone companies to have you active all the time.

Why don't you look up your provider's website?

You know when you have been too long outside of Poland when...

You have to look for organic food, actually actively hunt it in a shop and pay extra for it.

When paying 5 Euro/ £2:50 for a beer seems reasonable.

When you (think) that Carlsberg/Budwiser/Miller are tasty beers.

what do women look for in men? Add this thread to Favourites

I always thought girls go for the bad ass boys to try to understand and change them and after being messed around by the fool they realise that that it is not what they want and the kind of father figure comes into it, they want a MAN.

Where did that

Add this thread to Favourites

What was their reaction like? that might be a stupid question as I do not expect them to throw there arms up in the air and scream but they might have looked away?

when you...

You wonder what all the fuss about the credit crunch is???

Don't mind the rain (In Ireland I hate rain, it rains all the time).

Forget ever having seen an ugly woman.

Think anyone with long hair is a woman.

Whisper when you talk.

Get used to everything being made of concrete.

When you go to your home town and drive on the left you feel in danger of crashing, it frightens the bejazus outa me.

Love / Who makes a good Polish wife? [75]

roynelson fancies white women, they are exotic. That is fair enough, i think most people are at least curious about other races and find them exotic.

i gurantee our customs is a lot like the polish customs. we go to church on fridays and fast , do novenas on wednesdays. celebrate all the religious holidays the way the poles do.

So to summurise this guy was lieing (I quite liked him, he had a sence of humour). He may not be Mulsim but he sure as hell isn't Catholic.

So this has two very different meanings for me,

Either he was afraid that we would not except him if he were not Catholic, which some people wouldn't but shows cowardice on his part

OR

It is one of those nightmare stories, were the guy lies through his teeth for his own purposes.

Of course having caught him in a lie it would be unwise to trust anything he says, unless it is just for fun and of no consequence.

History / Question of Race Hygiene in Third RP [72]

This thread served to reveal them and their double standards.

Normally I do not enter in to conversation of such nature, maybe I was bored maybe it was the Advocaat I was drinking, who knows... but yes, these guys never stop going on and on about this.

Ah well back to not entertaining this kind of thread, although I would like to hear an answer from them. I know it is a contradiction.

I liked Harry's answer best

History / Question of Race Hygiene in Third RP [72]

I am white but of a different tribe. I live in Poland. I put the question to you about my "place" in Poland? ConstantineK and Warsaw8 and what about all the polish living in Ireland? should they come back here or is it OK for them to mix.

There is something I really do not understand Hitler killed millions, great Polish men and women died freeing themselves and YOU from such thinking.
