News / The most spectacular errors in Polish politics. [264]

Russians never said they were going to help the uprising.

They tried to encourage people of Warsaw to start the uprising - well proven activities of Kosciuszko propaganda radio station.
Churchill ... hmm, first we have to discuss the Norman Davies conceptions.

News / The most spectacular errors in Polish politics. [264]

1.No recognition of independant ukrainian state in 1922.

Agreed.

2.No alliance with Soviets in 1939

Alliance with an enemy worse than Hitler ?

3.Invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968

No Poland 1968.
Some commie bantustan only.

News / The most spectacular errors in Polish politics. [264]

I mean the last 100 years and there are not too much of them (mistakes).

1. Polish annexation of Zaolzie 1938, the tiny part of the pre-war Czechoslovakia.
Kinda Polish cooperation with Hitler.

2. Warsaw Uprising 1944 - Poles should have never trusted Russian commies.
Or Russians at all.

3. Polish support for Kosovo irredenta (separatism).
Excuse us, Serbian friends - be forgiving.

News / What needs to happen in the world so that Poland and Russia form alliance? [297]

Chauvinism more or less inheres in every single human being

In case "Russia" rather more than less and it makes a common denominator for all shapes of the Russian statehood.
It's by far more than other European forms of nationalism I have met.

It springs directly from the old idea of the Russian "national mission",
be it uniting Slavs, be it creating universal (but Russian) values for all humanity, be it Tiutchev's vision of the "seven sees Russia".

It can be a cynical imperialism as we see in Mr Dugin's works.

History / PIŁSUDSKI & BANDERA? [11]

Even if we put aside Volhynia killings, comparing Pilsudski and Bandera is insulting for my common sense.

Pilsudski in spite of his problems with democracy was a very successful politician and soldier.
No need to list his achievements.

On the other hand life of Bandera was some never ending story of failures:
Sentenced to death for terrorism in the pre-ww2 Poland (preparing attempts ...on rather pro-Ukrainian politicians).
Arrested by Germans for declaring Ukrainian independence in Lviv.
(Because of that his two brothers died in nazi KZs.)
1959 murdered by NKVD.

For sure important person, even a hero for some Ukrainians but what was his real (not ideological) contribution for free Ukraine ?

Even his ideology of integrated Ukrainian nationalism failed - the only costant result of it are Polish-Ukrainian tensions.
Tragic personality, good enough for national martyrdom not for future oriented people.
Absolutely not to compare with pragmatism and success story of Pilsudski.

History / PIŁSUDSKI & BANDERA? [11]

Pilsudki had plans to cut off the lion's share of Russia?

Here we go go again !
Would you like to prove your statement with any link ?
But remember pls.
You said "Russia".
Not what is today Ukraine and Balorussia.

And don't tell me it were parts of the Russian Empire.
Using this logic Warsaw was an "old"Russian land as well.

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

He is a public person and he should watch what he is saying

First of all he is an idiot or even worse ... destructive idiot.
For that reason unable to anticipate the results of such a statement.
Political correctness is not his environment.

So let us agree:
purely linguistically it was some racist remark but for sure it wasn't his intention to say something like "Welcome ni..er".

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

Father Rydzyk made a RACIST remark towards his fellow Black brother.

One has to be a native speaker in order to understand his intention.
I don't like him but for sure it wasn't some racist remark.
Rydzyk just tried to be nice lol.

News / Bandera bike rally in Poland. [17]

I haven't seen any so far. Would you mind giving me an example?!

It may be rather hard if you don't read Polish.
The main arena for their activities are political boards of gazeta.pl.
They work in groups (but it can be one person using many nicks as well), some grammatical errors they make are typical for Russians, same eristics, same sources and links.

Attacking both Poland and Ukraine but even with more aggression towards "Malorossiya" they use every opportunity to underline our conflicts.
It works like that :
Katyn ? Who cares - UPA is responsible for by far more Polish victims.

News / Rydzyk gets away with racism yet again [198]

Regardless, it seems highly unlikely he had any intention whatsoever of being negative or racist concerning, y'know, an African missionary.

True and obvious for every Polish native speaker.
Even if I don't like Rydzyk.

News / Bandera bike rally in Poland. [17]

minority thinks he was a patriot

Personaly I have no doubt he was an Ukrainian patriot.
But not very successful one.

I don't see any connection.

Just look at activities of the "Web Brigades" or "KGB-Hasbara" lol.
Spoiling Polish-Ukrainian relationship seems to be their main objective.

News / Bandera bike rally in Poland. [17]

I can hardly imagine some better gift to our Russian fsb-friends ... Participants of the rally were given Polish tourist visas but they did't inform consul in Lviv of their hidden political agenda. Polish Foreign Ministry hopes that "the Ukrainian participants in the event will respect Polish history," and that their behaviour will not provoke any police intervention.

News / Poland among the greatest enemies of Russia [112]

Btw, borrka, how many "lessers" you think would it take to only compensate the damage you bring into Polish-Russian relationship?

Me bringing any damage to the Russo-Polish relationship ?
C'mon Sasha I guess you understand pretty good my position.

As a matter of fact I'm rather friend of Russia but not this Russia driven by sick chauvinism of Dugin's type.

Your only problem with me is that I know pefectly your society, culture, political trends etc.etc.
I know your "mysterious Russian soul" lol.
My knowledge is of the level that already hurts many of you... because I'm not Russian !
And you believe this kind of experience should be kept for your "Russian family" only.

BTW. Lessers do not count at all, get real Sasha.
You can buy them, you can hire them, they are easy to trick ...
So either we don't speak at all of the good relationship or we are serious.

Russian society to some extend have its little obsessions.

Are you Russian lesser ?
If "yes" then the case is closed for me.
No more questions necessary.

If "not" ... enlighten me pls.
What are the sources of your brilliant knowledge of the Russian society ?
If not "tabloids" you don't trust, if not the polls and Internet forums..
what then ?
Divine enlightenment ?

only slavic/polish uprisings are the real stuff, only they "count"

Are Hungarians Slavonic ?!
A new achievement of German scientists ?

Even comparing the bloody Budapest revolt with Berlin riots is disgusting.
But it's just the way German mythology works.

an you s*uck so much Borrka, what a disgusting creature you are!

No need to thank me, BB.

History / UKRAINIAN GENOCIDE AGAINST POLES DOWNPLAYED [57]

I wasn't talking about UPA as they didn't kill civilians. I was talking about peasants who lived through hell.

Now you are presenting Volhynia slaughter as some spontaneous outburst of frustration among Ukrainian peasants ?
Nice try but not quite true.

No doubts about their frustration - II Rzeczpospolita wasn't milk and honey land for Ukrainians - but the decision was prepared and taken by elite of OUN/UPA.

They decided to start ethnic cleansing in Western Ukraine and mass killings in Volhynia.
And they weren't for sure poor peasants but some well educated politicians.
If you are looking for analogies with Polish Interbellum it's like Pilsudski would have decided to kill all Ukrainians in order to get rid of rebels, terrorists, troublemakers.

Or maybe only those of them living in ethnic Poland , Cracow for example ?
BTW. Do you know Bandera asked Hitler to "give" him Cracow ?

I see some similarity to the first years of Pilsudski - OUN made kind of underground but the only legitime authorities and today they are national heroes for some Ukrainians (by far not for all of them - UNA/UNSO result was under 0.5% voters).

But there were some differences as well.
In spite of his tendencies for dictatorship he wasn't a mass murder.

History / UKRAINIAN GENOCIDE AGAINST POLES DOWNPLAYED [57]

But I would recommend you to stop, take a deep breath and start working on making sure that there is no hostility among the two nations.

Touching, Nathan!
I'm already crying.

First you spend weeks or months insulting Poland and Polish forum members and now this dramatic cry for mutual understanding.
What a great contribution to Polish-Ukrainian peaceful coexistence lol !
Unfortunately (for me) it's an issue I do care about.

You are not in position to control your reactions when attacked, provoked, confronted with facts you don't like.
You are like an Internet troll: verbal paybacks are sweet !
Insult for insult !
Nonsense for nonsense.
No, they are just childish.

Sometimes I think this kind of behavior was a reason for our troubles in the past.
On the both sides.

History / UKRAINIAN GENOCIDE AGAINST POLES DOWNPLAYED [57]

I suggest you make some elementary school math.
It's easy even for web brigades.
BTW. I know your activities from Gazeta Wyborcza forums.

According to 1931 Polish census Polish was mother language for over 5 millions people living in Poland eastwards the Curzon line.

Given 1.5 millions post war deportations to the commie Poland, max. 1 million Poles still living in Lithuania, Belorussia, Ukraine, Russia, small groups taken with Anders Army to Iran (plus people who escaped to GG 1939) and all UPA killings ... two millions are missing.

This number is fully in line with all investigations made by historians but don't ask for links, just use Google.

I'm not looking for any excuses for Ukrainian nationalism but the real number of innocent Poles, mostly kids and women murdered by Russian communists is about 20 times higher than all UPA victims.

Two millions Polish people killed, starved, frozen to death in Gulags, Siberia, Kazakhstan etc.

History / THEY WOULDN'T LISTEN TO WISE OLD PIŁSUDSKI!!!! [67]

I am surprised that there are Ukrainians who deny their responsibility of what happened in Volynia. We don't.

Looks like you're changing your views every quarter, Nathan.
Remember this thread?

polishforums.com/archives/2009/news-4/relationship-ukraine-poland-healed-17105/5/

Now you're asking for sources because you don't like some opinions presented by Polish forum members ?
Your anti-Polish rants here are harmful for both Ukrainians and Poles.

Driven by some false ambition or grudge you don't want to accept the obvious fact:
Ukrainians are facing hard times by means of economy and politics.
Poland is your ONLY ally.
Not because we love you so much.
We need your existence.
Nobody else in the entire universe does care.
Except for our eternal friend, helper and liberator Matushka R. of course.

History / World War II - a tragic story for Poland and the World [489]

And that Cossacks batalion was made of Ukrainians?

Good question Nathan.
Most of the sources consider Hitler's Cossacks to be a nation what is wrong.
Even professional historians speak of Russian, Ukrainian and Cossack collaborators.

I would rather say they (Cossacks) were Soviet POWs of various ethnic origin.
Russian, Ukrainian, Belorussian and last but not least ... Soviet.
For German authorities it was rather impossible to tell Russian speaking East-Ukrainian from his Soviet "brother" from Tambov unless he declared himself as "Ukrainian".

For that reason any information on Ukrainian participation in Warsaw Uprising is some approximation only - the number of Ukrainians vary from 1.5 to 7.5% of the (total) pacifying troops.

And "209" can be hardly called Ukrainian, "Cossack" only.

I thought it was some Russians there also?

Lots of them.
So called RONA - Russian National Liberation Army (Russkaya Osvoboditelnaya Narodnaya Armiya) famous for bestialities and cowardice second to none.

And of course the Red Army watching with pleasure burning Warsaw from the East side of the Vistula river.

History / World War II - a tragic story for Poland and the World [489]

Ukrainians in the Warsaw Uprising (some facts are quite new even to me)

Members of SS Galizien were involved in the suppression of the Warsaw uprising in autumn, 1944. They were part of the Ukrainian Self-Defence Legion (Volhynia Legion under Petro Diachenko)

Ukrainians (and Belorussians) made about 50% of so called Dirlewanger Brigade famous for their mass killings of civilians in Wola and Ochota districts of Warsaw.

209 Cossack batalion Schutzmannschaften.
