Love / what is reasonable - he does not want me to go back to poland [55]

i am ready for committment and maybe he isnt-he sweet-talked me again.

i dont want to but i think i will have to be the one to finish it-

you know what to do don't you. you know he will not change or commit, and you know he won't make you happy. it's hard to stop loving someone, but he isn't prepared or willing to get serious about you. tell him it's over and you will see how much better and free you will feel. it's the only right thing to do in this situation. be brave and ditch the rat!

Love / Questions for a Polish girl - translation [33]

i normally just roll with the punches. if it's fun then it's good. :D

yeah, its supposed to be fun and youre meant to look forward to it, without worrying what youre gonna say. if theres not much to talk about, there are lots of other fun things to do ha ha. pieszczoty included ;)

News / Should we change the rules to let Poles join the British Army? [119]

i'm not the biggest fan of hoping straight into bed with the rest of europe

just the female population of the rest of Europe then? hopefully ha ha

what is the point of it being called 'British' we might as well call it EU army

i said to my bloke that i will get British citizenship and join the army, but he said i was too nice for that ha ha. its also scary how easy it is to get British citizenship. this Thai woman at work whos been over here about 4 years and is married to a British guy (from Thailand with love eh ha ha) passed the tests even though that when she speaks English nobody knows what she's going on about...

News / Should we change the rules to let Poles join the British Army? [119]

I think that its inevitable that they can speak fluent English and are British citizens as well as Polish. Its the British army, and they need to be able to communicate, especially when they are at war zones. What a stupid idea to let people who dont speak English and are not British citizens join the British army?!?! Just because they cant find anyone British who wants to sign up...

Love / Questions for a Polish girl - translation [33]

ding, ding.. but you actually asked and asnwered a series of questions, just didn't know about it.

yes and thats the thing - it all comes naturally, you dont feel like you're being interrogated or wasting someones time... you dont sit there in a very uncomfortable atmosphere being asked questions about your life, your work, your attitude to relationships with the other person constantly looking at their watch (probably the next date is waiting already lol). i love these first few months of dating, when you are about to fall in love, and still pursuing each other. shame it often wears off after time, the whole excitement of it :P.

Love / Questions for a Polish girl - translation [33]

i wasn't thinking those types of questions

well obviously you will have to have a conversation at some point. but then you can just go to the cinema, sit in the back row and snog each others faces off :-D.

Love / Questions for a Polish girl - translation [33]

So as a date Panienka am i supposed to sit there in silence, hoping you will come up with all the answers?? are you going to read my mind???? :):):):):)):) if i'm on a date with you i want to find out about you not sit there and just eat, whats the point of having you there otherwise, i'd be paying for a meal for two people and interacting with myself, lol :):):)

we just gone out and got drunk on the first date, no serious conversations - perfect lol. i never asked or have been asked these things, in my opinion it's off putting, all the questions... makes you feel like they are going to judge you and put ticks on their little list they probably have in their pocket. you are meant to have fun when you date, then you will both know if you want to take it any further WITHOUT having to ask this sort of questions. if you dont enjoy each others company, there is no point asking them what they are looking for. they might be looking for someone, they might be looking for a relationship, but NOT WITH YOU lol. i always chat about random things, definitely not about work or family - boring stuff.

edit: speed dating comes to my mind! What is your name? How old are you? Are you looking for adventure or a relationship? lol

Language / misleading differences between Polish and English languages [92]

ok...could you give me a few more examples?

no i co? - and what? well?
no nie - oh no
no nie? - isn't it? isn't that right?
no co jest? - what's going on?

"No" in Polish is also used to make things you say sound more like an order, for example no idź (move it!) or no już (now!)

Love / what is reasonable - he does not want me to go back to poland [55]

Maybe he is working over there, thats why he cant exactly talk everytime you ring him cos he's busy. Give him some space, ie stop txting him for a few days (i know its hard but try) and see what happens. Why is he hiding your relationship so desperately? How long have you been an item and whats the age gap? I hate to judge your situation as i dont know all about it, but just the fact that he leaves your messages unaswered for so long is not on and you have right to get anxious about it. He sounds very sneaky and that bit about not wanting to take you to Poland as you're a 'secret' is very dodgy. He is hiding something and i think its best for you to cease contact for now and see how long it takes for him to remember about you. Dont let him charm you with his love confessions, they obviously work on you so he will carry on 'charming' you this way. You dont know what hes up to in Poland and he obviously doesnt want you to find out, so its best for you to step back and have a look at this situation where you are being blatantly manipulated and sweet-talked just so you stop trying to find out the truth. That man is not good enough for you, his excuses are not good enough for someone who he claims he loves.

Love / I have met a wonderful Polish woman, but she has a 9 yrs old daughter [66]

I wouldn't have gotten myself in that position........ in the first place !

you cant say that, you cant tell whats gonna happen in the future. your wife (or gf) might dump you for someone else and leave the child to you, or die in an accident... then youre stuck with your kid, all alone, so does that mean youre uneducated? there are plenty of life related situations where you might find yourself as a single parent, and poor education or even poor knowledge about contraception is just an easy way to condemn someone who is a single parent.

Travel / Czestochowa - what is it like? [30]

accept that some posters have certain characters and opinions that manifest themselves throughout their posts.

yes and michal is very talented at manifesting himself as an ignorant pr*ck. he hasnt been to Poland for 20 years and he still is certain nothing has changed there since. if anyone on this forum wants UP TO DATE advice and information about Poland, he is the last person you wanna ask. trust me.

Love / I have met a wonderful Polish woman, but she has a 9 yrs old daughter [66]

You keep the mother happy and she'll keep the daughter happy, remember you're not her dad, and never will be !

im sorry but i cant agree, if the guy wants to be with that woman he should make the effort to be friends with the daughter, after all - whatever happens the daughter comes 'inclusive' with her mom and if the kid doesnt like you cos you dont give a sh*t about her than the mom aint gonna be happy either. dont underestimate a womans maternal instinct, the daughter will always come first especially that shes still very young and needs her mom a lot. that is a very selfish and immature statement, bajka. how would you feel if you had a kid and your lady didnt give a sh*t about him/her?

Travel / How much on average in GBP or PLN Taxi from Katowice to Krakow [25]

A taxi is about 300-400PLN

thats about £60! would it not be better if you booked a direct flight so you didnt have to worry about getting to your destination?? whats the difference between the prices of the flights? did you try centralwings or even british airways? it is scary to travel by yourself at night, bus is not so bad (if you can catch one) but trains are dangerous... and taxi drivers often rip you off.

Food / Feeding of Livestock in Poland [13]

Polish meat is awesome, and although there are of course big animal farms where everything is computerised and the animals are fed with artficial feeds, there are also plenty of little private sorta farms (my parents own one) and the animals get proper food apart from the feeds, such as fruit and vegetables, and they are let outside to feed on the grass in the summer. It is such a difference between a piece of pork or a chicken bought in the supermarket and the meat you get from a local farmer. Smoked pork and sausage, and home made chicken soup... Its heaven... My Scottish man loved the Polish kitchen! The meat was absolutely delicious.

Love / I have met a wonderful Polish woman, but she has a 9 yrs old daughter [66]

There is no dupa like an old dupa.

is that so! lol i dont quite agree...

she was young and immature, as indeed I was at 27.

i suppose some people mature later than others, im 22 and i think im a bit more mature than her. but then a Polish friend of mine who is about her age found herself in a simular situation, though both her and her husband came to uk with their daughter. He controlled her a lot cos she had a thing with another bloke back in Poland (they only got married cos she got pregnant), they stuck together for the sake of the child but it didnt work, she later found someone else (British) and now shes happy with him. My friend and her ex dont really get on and he makes her life sh*t, but hes got a new woman (Polish) too, who likes to add fuel to the situation as well... Its a mess, and the poor little girl is in the middle of this.
