Approximate prices of taxi trips

Prices vary depending on the city and the transport company. Differences however, are not big.

Weekend and night fares (10.00pm - 6.00am) and out-of-town zones have a higher scale of charges. The price of the first kilometre is usually between PLN 4 - 6, with the following kilometres cheaper, about PLN 2. In the large cities taxis leaving from the vicinity of stations can be more expensive.

don't you have somebody to pick you up from the airport?

no as i dont have family in Poland PTX otherwise i would ask if they would be kind enough and all flights from what i can see to katowice / krakow from north of England are now pretty much night flights ..... i dont see point in travelling to London to get a daytime flight as thats just more expense on my part

i have the same when i fly into Gdansk in July land at 140am then ... so have to get use to it i suppose :-S

A taxi is about 300-400PLN, the airport bus is 44PLN.

i will just get airport transfers as its only 240PLN and thats landing and departing back home as well

Is Leeds an option ? They have direct flights. Then it wouldn't matter so much if you landed at night.

Sounds like you are flying with Wizz Air.

If so then definitely book a shuttle transfer via their website. It's the best hassle free option.

Wizz air ensure there is always a bus available whenever their flights land.

thats about £60! would it not be better if you booked a direct flight so you didnt have to worry about getting to your destination?? whats the difference between the prices of the flights? did you try centralwings or even british airways? it is scary to travel by yourself at night, bus is not so bad (if you can catch one) but trains are dangerous... and taxi drivers often rip you off.

I use Wizz air a lot because of the convenience of flying from Liverpool Airport. If you're from the north west then you might want to know that Easy Jet also fly direct to Krakow.

Hi there. We are arriving at 01.45am on Thurs 4th Sept to Katowice airport. We are flying from Doncaster with Whizz air. The transfer bus to Krakow is at 04.15am!! Then it takes 2 hours to Krakow.

Is anyone else going at that time and would like to share a taxi with us 2? We are staying at the Janexim guestrooms in the centre of Krakow

going back to the airport is easier-17.00 pick up from the bus station to the airport for £22 for the both of us (thats Sun 7th Sept)

please contact me if you know where we can get a cheap taxi from (see quote above) and/or you are travelling at the same time as us and would like to share

Thanks
Tonya

no its not a taxi its wizzairs transfers you choose airport transfer option when you book tickets ...

taken from the wizzair section on the booking of flights
Save time and money! You can now book a bus transfer in a comfortable private mini bus or coach between the airport and Katowice or Cracow. The cost is 6 GBP / 7,5 EUR one way between the airport and the city centre (12 GBP / 15 EUR return) and 12 GBP / 15 EUR one way between the airport and Cracow (24 GBP / 30 EUR return). The bus is easily recognizable as it has the Wizz Air logo.

£24 in total return .... 101.617zloty

but you can also book here grey.turystyka.com.pl/~wizzair/index.php?lang=en if you haven't booked when purchasing your flight tickets

the price i quoted was from like March time .... so obviously rates have altered since then....!

Cheapest taxi in Katowice.
The price is 250PLN from Katowice Airport to Cracow Airport, in other place in Cracow add 20-30PLN to price.

Katowice - Taxi cost's

Can anyone tell me the rough cost of a taxi from Katowice airport to the city centre.

About 140-160ZL (£27 plus). Expensive trip as it is 35km to the city centre. That was for the aiprort taxi. You might get a better rate if you call a taxi firm?
