Travel / I'm going to Poland in September! [33]

Hey, LOT isn't bad. I flew on is last year and this year. I also flew Scandinavian Airlines which were better because you have your own little TV in front of you. But otherwise LOT is good.

And if you decide to rent a car, make sure it's locked up and the windows rolled up and hide any "attractive looking things" anytime you leave it.

There are many interesting beautiful historical buildings and churches in Poland worthy of investigation. People are nice and friendly.
Toilets are different, most door-knobs aren't round, hot water is on the right marked with red, they park cars on sidewalks on either side of road facing the opposite way, and other differences you'll experience yourself.

Yes, you will need to exchange your dollars for złoty. Not all places accept American Express, you can always ask before purchasing.
Food in Poland is VERY good.
If you use the taxi, and if they know you're a foreigner, they sometimes might jack up the price on you. But most are honest. Enjoy your stay.

Life / Divorce in Poland with children [4]

Divorce is granted even when there are children involved. In majority of the cases the mother gains primary physical custody granting the father visitor rights. Addressing the court with reasonable conditions as why the marriage didn't work out is sufficient enough for the court system.

Feedback / The growth of the Polish Forum Members..... [17]

Yeah, that was different for sure!!!!
I came on the forum because I was angry for injustice and had to get it out of me. I generalized which is wrong. But I was pi$$ed at the Wisconsin court system (and still am) that they split my young children with the "x", who drinks and never cared for them, when they are the age when they need their mother. But I won't get into that now. It has helped me a lot being on the forum, making friends or enemies, which helped me fill the emptiness I experienced without my children. And for that I want to thank each and everyone of you for the feedback and communication. And for the existence of this forum. I have learned a lot from all of you.

USA, Canada / The things Polish people do in the US [46]

People in the US don't like warm milk. They like a cold glass of milk and eat cereal with cold milk. Not talking about hot coacoa. Must be a European thing to drink warm milk.

When someone sells a car in the US, the buyer usually asks how low will they go, but Polish people will barter and stand there for hours and look at any little dent to make the guy sell his car for less.

I've seen Poles open boxes of toothpaste and shampoos to smell the stuff, then the box is open and they leave it in the store. You can't do that. The merchandise is damaged.

They wash clothes by hand and hang it over the tub to dry. They don't like driers, they say their clothes get ruined in washing machines, untill they get one and realize it saves time.

They are not familiar with microwaves untill they actually use one.
No lies, just my observations and how people from other countries act.
And no, I am not talking about mr. G. Just the Poles I know in general.
They don't like American fast food restaurants, will not eat fries or burgers there, but will eat fries and burgers if presented to them on a plate. Same thing, different presentation.

Love / It's going to take more for me to trust a Polish woman again... [22]

The thing with Polish women and non-Polish men is that it is hard to adjust to a non-polish speaking guy and to another country's culture and tradition. No matter how much english the woman studied, she is always Polish in her heart. She will always find it easier to communicate with Polish guys and no matter how long she lived in another country, she will always remember Poland.

In this case when she was back in Poland, her friends and family could have said something that made her realize that you weren't for her, she cannot communicate as easily as in Polish but can use you for MONEY!!!!

I know many people from Poland who live in the states for 25 years or more, some still do not know enough english to communicate, and feel like outsiders. But will not return to Poland because of MONEY!!!!!
