Life / Polish people have low self-esteem? [80]

Very true, how people perceive others, I was seconded to a company on a project a while back and only spoke to certain people on the project, when my circle of work colleagues opened up, I found it really funny to be told that they the guys thought that I was really unaproachable and that they had the nick name of the ice queen for me...needless to say they changed their views when they got to know me.

UK, Ireland / Heavy drinking culture in the UK - is it still the same in Poland? [69]

Ive only been to Poland twice and only ever saw a couple of drunks, unlike in the UK when I get hassled every time I go out (city centre) by some drunk or another. manser there is a drinking culture in the UK which is not good, jeez I can't even get on a bus at 8pm without being hassled by some drunk..

Love / Krakow or nearby: LOST LOVE! [30]

I would just leave it, whats the point like opts said if she really wanted to know, she would have got in touch and what the hell would bashing some heads do, land him in prison in Poland....

Also its a bit easier for us in the UK to "just fly over" bit different from the US

Hob, its not actually funny, there was a prog on the other week called "Booze Britain Birds" some of the women were more violent the men...it was horrifying to watch, dont get me wrong I enjoy a good old drink with friends but these women were drinking about 100 units a week and more - would you date a women that might come home and beat you up after a session with the girls....its just wrong.

I dont think progs like Footballers Wives had an influence, I think it's more to do with life-style changes, women have more money, they dont get married at an early age, dont have kids, they just dont have the same lives they had 40 years ago they have freedom to do as they please and it would seem binge drinking is the order of the day for many.

Life / Poles' tolerance towards other Races [190]

The worst is if someone who is engineer, teacher, doctor....moves abroad do basic job year after year, loose all confidence and never moves on....

I suppose its down to who you are as person and how determined you are to achive your goals.

Well if it is, I saw no evidence of it when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

I understand and agree with everything you say, I dont see there being any change to the situation it's quite sad really, Im just glad that my nieces are well brought up and well behaved - my eldest niece is 14 and has not yet tried drinking, she's studious and has interests, I think that, that is a large problem girls dont have interests so see drinking as a hobbie...Also women earn quite a bit these days and are independant more disposable income more socialising.

Its being featured a lot on programmes at the moment and it is a problem.

Is it Labour paper?

It used to be, but not any more, yes the views are left of centre but I dont think that they're pandering to the views of muslims etc.,

I'm not sure its a sophisticated paper my parents have always read it and I would say it's more widly read now that it's not a broadsheet - I find it more a weekend paper because its a quality read, I watch the news throug the week to keep abreast of whats going on in the world and that does me.

News / Germans file WWII claims against Poland [198]

I personnaly dont think they are owned anything, one of my closest friends her mother is German and her grandparents came to England at the beginning of WW11 left their properties in Germany (one in the city and another in the black forrest) when they went back to Germany when things had settled down after the war both properties had been looted by the Americans, but as she says its just how it was and there was no point in complaining that some American has family airlooms in their living room! May I also add that her family helped many jews escape Germany so not all Germans were scum.

I like the Guardian I buy it on a Saturday since its the only day I get chance to have a good old read of the paper - wouldnt waste my money on the Daily Mail, I purchased it once and enjoyed a couple of articles but for the most it wasn't a particularly good read. It does seem to have a very negative view of Polish people living in England, but as we say in England yesterdays news is todays chip paper!

Love / Why are polish girls more approachable than north american girls [158]

sex it an intimate thing, how can you get intimate with a stranger and truly enjoy it..

Iwona, what you say is very true but not all women in the UK are like that, we have a hell of a lot that are but there are those that have self-control and self-worth.

Manser has explained why he reported them, and you have stated that you support his decision.

I have no idea why he reported the Polish people he did, and I said if you look at my post I support anyone who shops someone for diddling... as for my correcting someone, I'll do what I like and I would kindly ask you Mr Yaki Dar to keep out of my posts!

How have they changed? Too promiscuous now?

I would say that women have less respect for themselves, I dont want to sound like a prude but my values are different to a lot of women I know who find it acceptable to sleep with a guy who they have just men in a bar or club...I suppose its just sign of the times, some might says it equality, but I think if a bloke that sleeps with anything that moves is a dirty dog and wouldnt go within 5 ft of him

shewolf, I get your point, but I think that women in the West have changed over the years and not really for the best, women in the UK are far more violent when on drinking binges with their g/f's so I would say it was the men that are more scared in the UK...
