Feedback / "Report Message" feature implemented [21]

A "Report Message" feature was implemented today.

Do we have to pass an exam?

Obviously I need to. Where is the feature and how do I use it ?
For example to report

We Brits

The title of the topic is "English vs Polish hostility". The terms English and British are not the same.

Polonia / Polish people don't like clubs in Holland :D [15]

Iam not Polish but I tried a few clubs when I was in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The door staff were a bit too serious, didn't seem to like two single guys ( tourists ) trying to get in. Inside the clubs it was OK.

Its the same for a lot of places I suppose.

USA, Canada / I want to ship Vodka back to the USA...What are the laws? [23]

he vodka’s flavor is a result of the infusion of one or two kilograms of bison grass per one thousand liters of vodka. Then, a long blade of this grass is typically placed in each bottle. Hierochloe odorata contains coumarin, a naturally occurring chemical which was originally used to flavor tobacco and cakes and has been found to display various medicinal properties, such as a blood thinner.

Wow - you live and learn ! I think the dose is inconsequential though.

USA, Canada / I want to ship Vodka back to the USA...What are the laws? [23]

I want to run a promotion on my website offering a 200ml bottle of Żubrówka with every purchase.

Sounds like a great promotion ! Are you planning this within EU ? Maybe we could test the system by sending me a bottle and I will let you know if I get it.

Love / How to sustain a Long Distance Relationship with a Polish girl [75]

Sausage - Sometimes people who love each other can't be together (physically).
Doesn't mean they love each other less. Sometimes looking forward to seeing each other again makes them realise how strong their feelings are.

Sometimes it sucks !

Food / Looking for a salmon recipe [6]

Don't want to be a killjoy but you need to make sure your fresh salmon has been cooked properly or you might get something nasty.

USA, Canada / Would my Polish degree be worth anything in the US? [14]

why? it is one of the names of that city, no?

I may be wrong here but I dont think that the two names are interchangeable. I know that some Polish people take offence at Gdansk being called Danzig.

Any thoughts welcome.

( Might be better in another thread )

Language / Writing Polish in longhand (cursive) [17]

I think this might be a good topic!

It sure is, I was helping a friend fill out an application form yesterday and the first thing I got him to do was write the alphabet out on a scrap bit of paper, Upper Case and lower. Then I "Anglisised" it for him.

Unfortunately I can't explain it for you.

News / Poland torpedoes EU Day Against Death Penalty [71]

"Serious errors" are found in 68% of convictions in people who get fried. Texas has a 73% reversal rate.
It always amazes me how people are up in arms about the Arab world beheading people while the US happily strap people into electric chairs.

UK, Ireland / PASSPORTS FOR POLISH PEOPLE TO COME TO ENGLAND [103]

yes they are but they wouldn't be coming here on their own, i would assume they would have a family

I have a friend from Lodz, single mother, two children under age of six. She arrived with no job. How would this statement affect her....

we would have no dependents in this country arriving as such,

if they need the state to help them, then forget entry.

She now has a job, earning minimum wage, her tax will not cover her childrens education or health needs. Would this be foreseen at point of entry?

ow many people who you could consider elderly (60+) suddenly decide to up sticks

Guess who came over to look after the children ?

Children are dependents.
What I am trying to do is to quantify your statements which are broad and all inclusive( or exclusive ). From your statements children, people with health needs and the elderly would be banned from the UK unless they had a sponsor who would underwrite their schooling, healthcare etc

I am sure there is a reciprocal agreement about EU citizens accessing healthcare - I'll need to check.

your taking very extreme examples,

Its an everyday example.

what your trying to prove by doing so,

Having a discussion. Offering a different opinion. Debating the issues you raise and questioning them.

Of course i invite your views on my comments as always :)

i don't get what your trying to say here??

I am saying that if a Polish person comes here with their children and the children are in education, then the state are supporting them surely ?

That if an elderly Polish person comes to live here with their relatives and needs health checks the state will support this.

if they need the state to help them, then forget entry.

No need to play the guilt trip on me

Why should anybody feel guilty talking about people with disabilities ?

If they are not coming to work or benefit the UK

Heaps of people I know from Poland are taking over their relatives, mothers, fathers, children, not all working, just immigrating.

what use are they to the UK,

I have seen a Polish guy in his twenties, going about in a wheelchair, doesn't look like he is working but his girlfriend looks after him and she does. I dont know if he was in a wheelchair when he got here. What do you think? Send him back?

you don't agree, why??

I would say its symptomatic of globalisation rather than simply the EU. Outside the EU all developed countries have these problems

its not the type of disease its the fact we let people with diseases into the country

So a Polish person who had a history of Mental illness any recurring physical ill health or any such related problem should not be let in to the U.K.?

The point I am making is that these topics are quite deep and take a bit of thought.

Well, it is supposed to be getting tighter

The Glasgow incident has moved things on a bit.

the powers that are Mightier Than Me would probably over look that,

I don't know that they would- too risky. Even road traffic offences show up on a SCRO/Disclosure check, in fact even if you were not convicted its still on your SCRO.

i'm sure you'll agree these things happen and if you don't then your blinded by the PC population

I dont agree and I wouldn't say I am blinded.

still a problem

How so?

many diseases are brought to this nation

Sickle cell anaemia perhaps.

So since this is a Polish forum, what diseases are the Polish immigrants taking with them?

no i wouldn't stop, in fact this is exactly why we have these immigration problems because people stop. They are scared to offend a few people to protect the wellbeing of a Nation, whats a no to a few thousand people compared to the wellbeing of the Nation. It does not even come close in my eyes.

Its hard and its harsh but its reality

What immigration problems ?
Sorry but this doesn't explain anything to me.

Disclosure Scotland

Good point, makes me wonder about all the "carers" looking for jobs on this forum from outside the EU.
