Real Estate / Deals available from Polish property developers [40]

but I'll be looking at older properties that need refurbishment

are you seeing a significant difference in price between old apartments that need refurbishing and those that have already been done to make this worth your while?

in the tri city the price variations are becoming so close that once you have factored in the costs of refurb the margins are often not worth the effort

but i doubt it will be of any benefit to poland

Honey, this is yet to be seen

i hope you prove me wrong

I will never step foot into them.. its only giving into keeping
alive the horrible things that Hitler did..

people ive spoken to about it have expressed suprise that ive been to krakow but never visited auschwitz but like you, i have absolutely no desire to be reminded of the horrible things people do to each other

I called miranda once - jokingly - the c-word in the Random Abuse. Or perhaps you consider 'wench' a vulgar term, Bubby?

its not the words puzzy, its the upset that they cause and, so far, i dont think i have bullied or offended anyone off the forum

instead of seeing that the younger generations are trying
to move on and forward into a new poland

this is what i believe - polands future is with the new generation - not those from the communist era or those who have little connection with poland other than an ancestor - leave the anger, pain and suffering in the past, dont put it on the present becasue they will take it into the future

we dont see enough of the
current Poland ( those of us who never been)

then people need to stop interferring and proecting their bitter memories and resentments, things have changed and people are trying to move on to a bright, prosperous future

You apparently have a different upbringing.

i was brougt up to judge people as individuals and treat them as they deserve to be treated... and not to treat people differently because of their race creed colour or gender. i thought carol was an american women desperately clinging on to a polish past

And Carol didn't deserve the lowdown from you.

she misenterpreted something i wrote and jumped to a conclusion - as poles on here seem to do - and made a comment on it. rather than go thru the rigmarol of telling her she made a mistake and then getting the uppity reply that always seems to follow i decided to re-enforce her incorrect view

- You've been certainly, ahem, 'positively' contributing to the image of UK among us Poles, by your coarseness and brutality.

personally, i am more than happy to re-enforce the british stereotype of a nation that doesnt take kindly to bull sh!t from upstarts or anyone else

Someone has to so we can have a brighter future. Bummer for you Bubba opps I mean BubbaWoo. I don't think you really want me to give the low down on you

dwelling on the past does not a brighter future make - put the past behind you and move on

I don't think you really want me to give the low down on you

i doubt any one gives a fly fuk if you give the low down on me - i certainly dont and doubt very much you could say anything i would give a second glance

youre a bitter old woman carol with very little to live for except the past - fuk knows what your future looks like but i doubt it will be of any benefit to poland

So it's true, you are just worried about physical appearance.

thats just the sort of feeble reply i expect from you

Poland needs to show back bone now

poland doesnt need to get people backs up

I am Polish and proud of my people and country.

we all know you are hugely proud of your heritage; that you have a chip on your shoulder and that you dwell in the past rather than work for the future

A laughing stock for who?

when a country's president is referred to as a potato its normally an indication that someone is laughing somewhere

do not deserve to call yourself Polish

i wouldnt dream of calling myself polish, perish the thought, but i do have a vested interest in the country and would like to see it prosper

start being realistic about our situation in Europe. Poland is not a super-power and its foreign policy should be more realistic

what a quandary... much as i would like to disagree and call you the slime of the earth i do think you are actually right

Poland should have a strong government standing up for the Polish people?

of course poland needs a strong government, but not one which is going to damage its place in europe and the eu - polands last government was making it the laughing stock - lets hope this one takes a more positive approach

If "standing up for Polish people" means asking for trouble/making enemies all over the Europe & world then I don't want this kind of government.

damn thats twice ive agreed with you - better call your mum a crack ho before people start getting the wrong idea

Life / Shopping in Tri-City [46]

Go to the IKEA near the Airport in Gdansk.

what shops are there?

noting to get excited about - IKEA (ice cream 1 zl), a large DIY type place, plenty of swish furniture shops, a few smaller clothing chains, couple of shoe shops... unfortunately the go-karting in the underground car park has closed... probably for health an safety reasons... i still carry the scars

News / Weak US dollar in Poland and other countries... [180]

it's evident that this whole "Amero" thing is a simple urban legend

thenewamerican.com/node/6566

our political and academic elites hope to merge the United States, Canada, and Mexico into a North American Union (NAU) modeled after the European Union.

USA, Canada / Roads and Driving rules in Poland versus America [63]

Guys, why don't I see all those things you allegedly see when I drive in Poland?

but puzzie, you find it very difficult to accept anything you perceive as negative said about poland

I also experience more courteous people in Poland that move over to the shoulder so you can pass

i have also noticed this - more so than in the states

- Preaches who?

One who is a cautious and courteous driver, that's who! :)

Ladies, but did you witness any accident on those roads you mention?

im not a lady but that doesnt take from the fact that i have witnessed countless accidents, including covered bodies, on these roads. i almost expect to see an accident when driving from one city to another around the tri city

you are right about roads designed for horse carts puzzie, just as others are right about the recklessnes of many polish drivers
