Language / Jak sie masz -> niezle, doskonale. Wyglada ladnie - grammar questions [45]

in english if you ask someone HOW ARE YOU ? and they reply NOT BAD or EXCELLENT (adjectives) and both these answers are grammatically correct ....then how come in polish???

when you say JAK SIE MASZ ? then you have to answer NIEZLE or DOSKONALE which are both in the adverb form???

also in the sentence ....ZOFIA WYGLADA LADNIE ....zofia looks nice ....in the english sentence 'nice' is an adjective yet in the polish sentene you must use the adverb 'ladnie' this is in the adverb form

very confused scot trying to learn polish

History / Katyn - the Polish movie [29]

it's a very interesting film, very horrific ending.

i am scottish and had never heard of this atrocity, but decided i wanted to watch the film whilst holidaying in gdansk

i liked the part where the woman would not go with the german officer where she would be safe, as she had a husband.

very sad film , especially if you were polish. it would make me have a lot of hatred for certain nationalities

Life / Moving a family to Poland, any info, advice needed [51]

well i have met a polish girl and i would like to move to poland. but yous lot have put me off-ale jaja. plus the fact that alot of poles are coming here means something is not right. i cant really speak the language to save myself as its pretty much gobbledegook. but it would be an experience. such a cultural difference and you only life once. oh and i heard the weather is better ,well in the summer anyway. so i'll see how it goes. off to poland next month to meet my "kochanie" . yes miss zaw in case you ever read this spoko. its a bit tongue and cheek but hey you know me ale jaja anyway papa troops

Dont be so mean! Although ur reply is kinda funny! U may not be able to fall in love with someone online but u can get a connection with them and who is to say what goes on between two people whatever way they communicate-i think Confused certainly has feelings for this girl
