I've seen lots of people on the forum react this way.
It appears to be a part of human nature.
I was merely pointing out an observation.
I was not implying a personal judgment one way or the other.

You infer that BB's by nature NOT so gentle, therefore little is needed to set him off, eh?

Let's put it this way, Bratski is a happy, easy going person 99.9% of the time, but if you mindlessly and thoughtlessly rattle off crap, he will be happy to set you straight. And yes, his tolerance for crap is low, especially if you piss on his beloved Prussia, and his temper can flash, but he cools off equally fast and returns to his jolly, happy self.

Okay guys and gals....I'm running out of smilies...back to the topic!

No Bratwurst Boy, IT'S EVEN WORSE!!!

Now, now .......that's just not true.
Bratski has a fabulous vocabulary in English, better than many native speakers.....so he might might an occasional grammar mistake, but grammar is the most difficult part of learning any other language.

And that was absolutely ridiculous.
There was an estimate given that it cost 20,000.00 to fire up the company jet, when they could have booked coach tickets for 800.00. The problem with Corporate America boils down to one word: greed.

A bear pulled a man out of a tree in the Polish mountains on Sunday and fractured his arm, the Polish news agency PAP reported from the south-eastern town of Krosno.

The 20-year old man also had a fractured finger and other minor injuries as a result of the attack in the Bieszczady Mountains, the agency said, without explaining what he was doing up the tree in the first place.

Food / Potato cake with bacon? Placki ziemniaczane. [14]

Here is one:

* 3/4 pound (1 large) russet (baking) potato
* 2 slices of cooked lean bacon, crumbled fine
* 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives or green part of scallion
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* sour cream as an accompaniment if desired

Preparation

Peel the potato, grate it coarse, and press it between several thicknesses of paper towel to remove any excess moisture. In a bowl stir together the potato, the bacon, the chives, and salt and pepper to taste. In a large heavy skillet heat the oil over moderately high heat until it is hot but not smoking, form the potato mixture into 4 patties, and cook the patties, tamping them down with a spatula, for 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until the pancakes are golden brown and cooked through. Serve the pancakes with the sour cream.

(I think you might have to add some oil into the mixture if you plan to bake it.....probably for 400 degrees for 45 minutes)

Seanus does not get this. All he can see is the current involvements of our military and his condemnation of the reason to be there. He does not understand that America's mourning for loved ones lost in battle is a personal matter, not a political one. He is confused bout what it means to us.

Very sad.

What is wrong with remembering those you gave their lives to defend their country? You do realize the Veterans Day is on Tuesday in the US?

What about all these poor kids coming back from Iraq, permanently disabled. You say we should appreciate them for their sacrifice? Or you think we should condemn them for having been deployed there?

Well..I see online votings as a quite easy thing...:)

I think so too......as more and more people use online services, I think it would not be so difficult to verify identity and make a vote secure. Just because something has not worked in the past, or if the technology is not there to support it now, does not mean it can't be there in the future. "where there is a will, there is a way" so to speak.

I would prefer a more direct democracy which works through referendum and petition, where only people can take part in which can show through a test that they have enough knowledge to make a judgement.

I like that idea! Put government in the hands of the people....and make sure they can make responsible decisions.

quality of life is different here. the freedom here means anything goes not that you have more quality time necessarily.

I think life is more expensive here. There is less free time.
In Europe more businesses are closed Sundays, holidays, and not "open all night". Here we have so many cities that never sleep, 24 hour operations......no rest for consumers or the weary.

personal opinion why america will be back on top soon enough

I think Americans have an interesting ability to overcome obstacles when united in a cause....maybe in a way that other peoples don't.....but they have to be spurred on, and it helps to have solid leadership.

We just haven't had that leadership.
I am glad to see a concensus developing in the US to get control of the greed at the helm of our corporations. I caught a lit bit of the oversight hearing, grilling the CEO of Lehman Brothers. It was a beautiful thing.

ZD, take a look at this article. Its a few years ago, but a good point is made here:
