The prices here went down a bit but It is still very expensive, especially in Warsaw and Kraków... I think Germany is a much better market for somebody, who want to buy property and rent It.

BB, sorry but you are making a fool out of yourself... What kind of opportunities had Poles to escape ? Walk to Czechoslovakia ? I repeat, all serious historians and other people with some knowledge about these things will tell you that DDR was much more Sovietized than Polish People's Republic. Get over that.

BB, you've got to be kidding me... The number of Soviet troops in DDR was big, because that was where the front of the potential WW3 would have been. In DDR even parents/children spying on each other were nothing unusual. It's obvious for everybody with any knwledge about those times that Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary were much more liberal countries during communism than Bulgaria, Romania or DDR.

On the other hand I firmly believe that the end of the cold war and the fall of the Iron Curtain is thanked to the perestroika and Gorbatschow.

I'm not 100% sure but I guess they are mixing up two different things. If he wants get the pension from KRUS (which is heavily subsidised retairement system for farmers) he must be 65 years old If he was insured in KRUS for at least 25 years or already once he is 60 but only If he was insured in KRUS for at least 30 years and won't contiunue farming production... and to be insured in KRUS one has to be a farmer, so has to own some farming land but also the longer period of paying the insurence the higher the pension will be. Another thing are EU funded pensions, which are for people aged 50-60, who decide to give their whole land to their children or some other young farmers...
