Love / Polish mail order brides? [89]

I'd be afraid to order a groom by mail.
What if someone like 'teachoci" jumped out of a big manila envelope? :(

poland is a nation of slaves. the are very sub-serviant

ignorant statement

Didn't they "invade" and stole jobs in UK recently? :) sub-servient people don't do such things...you know. D'ya remember the summer of 1980? The sub-servient people put the whole world on guard.

Neptunes twig and berries covered by a leaf

Maybe Poland is getting more prudish? Or, some babcia covered it on her way from church? :)
Considering all the boobies flashing on TV, that's kind of odd.

Just as tobacco and alcohol, cannabis kills brain cells. Nobody wants kids on drugs running around. Their hormones should be enough.

Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with medical marijuana. It eases the pain for terminally ill, and if morphine is acceptable, why not a good smoke.

Speaking of communist monuments, I wonder, if Lenin's statue is still in Poronin...I read something in the past that people wanted to take it down, but others wanted to keep it as a historical monument. I don't know how it ended.

( I still remember the poem about the statue, I had to recite in 4th grade) :)

I don't see anything wrong with weed leaves on the T-shirt. If the kids want to smoke, T-shirts adds or not, they will still do it. It's parents job to educate their kids.

These fried turkeys are also the cause of many fires, so be careful. It's the best way to cook turkey IMO.

Yes, it's a very dangerous way of preparing a turkey. I witnessed the whole preparation and frying. It was done outside, in a special fryer, on a cool Thanksgiving Day. The whole family almost bit their tongues off chowing it down, whereas the typical, roasted turkey "felt very lonely" on the platter...

P.S. I just noticed that Zgubiony got some special tools in his avtar. Do you wish, you could use them on some posters here, sometimes? :)

Deep Fried Turkey

Yes! The best turkey I've ever had.

(for the people who never tried it, please do not picture in your mind breaded, fried chicken) :)

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

Dear Ken, get out of the house, mingle a little, make friends at work...anything is better than feeling alone. It's fine, if that's what you want and feel comfortable with, but we all need other people around. Internet is fun, but it should never be a substitute for a face to face chat. You sound like a sensitive, good guy... you're young, get out of the house and things will happen!

News / Grumpy diplomacy hurts Poland [43]

It seems to me that all you're interested in on this forum is to vent out your hatred towards Poles. I wonder why such racists and Polonophobes like you cling to this forum? Are you a masochist indeed?

Yes, he tries desperately to convince everybody that he is British, but he is not.

Work / Work Ethic of Polish Workers [19]

My niece in Poland just quit her banking job. She was coming home at 9-10 pm at night and was bringing work home for the weekend. All for a very measly salary of 1200 zloty.

I work at the bank and that's unthinkable. If we need to stay longer for any reason, we're paid a time and a half or we can take time off.

However, if you want to "make it", no matter where you live, or if you're are a new immigrant, you need to work a lot. It always pays off at the end, it worked for me.

Language / Translations of Gadu-Gadu [158]

Your password is incorrect. Try another or click Przypomnij (Remind) to get your password back.
(somehow it did not work for me the last time I tried).

It's better to change your password completely yourself.
Open GG
Go to Gadu-gadu tab (next to "kontakty")
Click,
then click "Ustawienia"
You'll see your nick and your password (haslo) - but as dots only. Click the word "zmien" (change) next to it. Check "zmiana hasla" (change password).

Plug in a new password and click "zmien" - you're done.
Sign on with a new password.

P.S. Why don't you use SKYPE? It is in English and better than GG.

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

People are not meant to be alone. We are social animals.
We all know that relationships are hard, and there is a lot of give and take involved. I experienced both, the single and the married state. I like single (currently), because it is easier, but I like relationship more, because is more fulfilling. The hard thing is to find a partner who really understands you and you feel comfortable with each other. The first few months of infatuation (or love?), don't count.

To be with someone, just not be alone, is out of question. There is enough of miserable couples out there. At the end, we have only 50/50 chance.

Genealogy / Looking for Malgorzata Musial, Jedrzejow [22]

Nevadamedic, I searched on GG for members in Jedrzejow and there are tons of them.
All emoticons are off, because people sleep now, but I'd try just for the heck of it...I even saw a name of a person I went to high school with...(I think). I will add her GG number and maybe approach her when the "little sun is yellow", which means she is on line.

It is a long shot, but if you can manage to sign on to Gadu-Gadu, you can post your message in polish to as many members as you want. Some may get "freaked out", when they get a message from a stranger, and respond in a mean way or simply delete/not accept the message, but you may come across someone interested and helpful or who knows her.... Jedrzejow is not a big city and people know each other, because they may have gone to school together, may work together, party together - you name it. I'm not sure, but I think GG will pop up a message, if the recipient want to accept your message...and they may say no. I have only my friends and family in GG, so I don't really know what happens, when you click on a stranger...

Life / Stereotyping in the Polish culture: Are Polish blondes really dumb? [130]

Well, so you know better than the Noble Prize website...and wikipedia. Good for you. lol.
Research costs a lot of money and the opportunity needs to be there. Historically, Poland had neither. Unfortunately.
So, compare UK to The US then... :)

Thank you shopgirl
The attraction part to the losers worked, but that's it.

Now, Aquarius, Pisces and Cancer. Where are you? :) You're next on my chow list.

but I'm Taurus shopgirl, we would fight each other to the bone, if he stubbornly insisted that I should have another bite of his gourmet meal and I did not want one!

So, what's a good sign for a Taurus woman? I split with Leo (after being engaged and living with) and divorced a Scorpion...any hope? :)
