If I were to choose, I'd rather be a Scotsman.

Really ?

A greater say than what they have now. Independence within Europe.

Probably cental government now give you more than you pay because It's a great conspiracy to make you poor.

There are other gains rather than financial but, yes, there are financial benefits.

As a digression - Sign in the pub last night......

Say Aye tae a pie

Stupid politicians will be replaced by another stupid politicians,

The current first minister is quite popular and has done a lot of good.

economically people will gain nothing

Not true, "an embarrassment of riches"

these new countries would have nothing to say

Would have a greater say.

Wee Eck in US three months ago talikng about the Celtic Tiger and the "Celtic Lion "

let's give Ireland some credit here though

Ireland has shown the lead to Scotland on what can be achieved. I also believe that how the "Celtic Tiger" came about can show Poland how to boost its economic growth.

But, let's not get into handouts from the USA. I said I wasn't gonna get into the IRA but all I need to say is IRA-USA, think about it!! Clinton did!!

Whats the relevance ? IRA have got nothing to do with Irelands success.

Matthewson was long gone by then, not going to defend the RBS - point I am making is financial experts back an Independant Scotland - not quite "built on sand".

Yep, referendum on Independence planned for 2010.

.you mean you'd trust the view of a bank.

Sorry, I should have said "former"CEO, and yes, when it comes to financial matters I would heed the man that was in charge such a large money making machine.

PS And you are the voice of in/sanity on the board...oh...plz....!!!

If only......

Oh so much to comment on......
Frank, I cant believe some of your posts are your true views, I prefer to think you are being just a wee bit naughty ;-)

how many cabinet ministers over the last few years have been Scottish?

Because Labour would not have power if it wasn't for the Scottish support, have to keep them sweet.

What did Scotland do? Be a part of Britain

Sold out in 1707 by a few rogues. Referendum in 1979 was rigged. Polls showing majority now want independence.

seeing as Scotland continues to sup from the English nipple with no shame.

Frank being naughty.

who've had the last laff amongst the Celtic nations for some time.

True.

like the scottish economy built on sand.

Royal Bank Of Scotland CEO supports Independence financial debate.

how long you been here

Long enough to know that people who are narrow minded usually haven't had to fend for themselves or ever needed to ask for anyones help. Just sponged of their parents and instead of being grateful for what they have got, use it to bully others less fortunate.

Sound familiar ?

NHS is funded by taxpayers. Majority of Polish immigrants age 20 - 35 ( IMHO ) pay tax and are healthy.
Biggest expense of NHS is on secondary health care ( care homes etc) that they won't access.
Thought for the day, maybe the young healthy Polish taxpayers are subsidising the NHS ?

News / Polish soldiers and the legacy of Depleted Uranium. [30]

Atropine and pralidoxime.I am not sure if it was in pills or injected.

I'd be interested if Atropine was used prophylactically, other than immediately before a risk was identified.
Atropine and 2Pam are available in "pens", similar delivery systems to that of Insulin with diabetics. Pills take longer to get in to the system.

Life / "I can spot a Pole a mile away" - Polish fashion? [146]

Criminal law and procedure in Scotland is different from that in the rest of the
United Kingdom. The main distinction is that Scots criminal law is based
principally on a common law tradition, whereas in many jurisdictions much of the
criminal law is contained in statute. What this means in effect is that much of
Scots criminal law relies for its authority on past decisions of the courts and on the
writings of respected legal scholars rather than on Acts of Parliament.

Like I said - I am not a lawyer
