UK, Ireland / 10,000 Poles in UK for free abortions [58]

It wasn't and, in effect, it doesn't.

wtf? but in fact it does. when you omit paramount information or even go against it, you are in fact adversely effecting those who live under that doctrine. how many unwed mothers do you see nowadays? how many kids end up in a messed up home? better is it? hmm

No.

that was a rhetorical one dziady but thanks for answering anyway.

It's not a conundrum.

UK, Ireland / 10,000 Poles in UK for free abortions [58]

The Church obviously didn't discourage contraception with the intention of increasing abortions. So, I suppose the argument should be blame the idiots involved, not their religion.

but the intent must have been to put teenagers and their kids in hardship? is that god's will too?

who wants an unwanted and unplanned child? Who wants a child on the planet with parents who are not fit to bring them into this world??

yeah man and the catholic doctrine doesn't provide for the realities of life; it obstructs actually.

However on the other hand who has the right to choose who lives and dies?? Does anybody have the right to play god?? You see what i mean

that's the conundrum.

Genealogy / Petrosky - my last name [6]

you get the russian comment because of the way you spell your surname. petrosky is definitely russian spelling.. could be ukrainian too.. -kie is not polish either. petroski, pietrowski.. and all the ones above would be polish.

"Jak Zyc" (How to Live)

never heard of it. will look into it

so getting out there to the "real" world is completely different.

yes and no. you have to know the theory. that's fundamental. you will also have to learn a lot. it's going to be the practical stuff. if learning didn't come easy in school, it may be hard in the real job.

what are your figures? let's compare them ....

definitely would be nice...

Graduate with no experience. No idea if I'm good.

how did you do at the uni?

Perhaps its not too bad in the long run. Certainly the beginning will be hard.

yes it will be hard as it can be anywhere. a little easier here in the usa.
but there are ways. you'll have to figure it out. part of the game called life.

don't sell yourself too cheap

!!!!!!!!

Engineering with specializations in software and Hardware

oh, you can probably surf around that site i linked in my other quote to find your field of interest. it's always a good idea to know the average numbers prior to dealing with a potential employer. be sharp.

History / Władysław Sikorski remains to be exhumed for cause of death [43]

I do not mean to toss insults, or be insulted, especially with my own people; I care for, and seek, the intellectual challenge. This thread, while interesting if you dig on conspiracy theories, is only adding to the folly.

wtf? i am happy that we'll know more soon. i have no prejudgments on whether the general was murdered or not.
hey, i tossed you one. it's all good. :)

edit your email out man or spamorama will kill you.

sorry to disappoint you, it's not a woman ;)

maybe that's not disappointing to piel.

?

lol

crap, i can't keep up with you guys. lol

I'd rather we (collectively) should put our energies into Soviet documentation: release, reading and interpretation and then mass dissemination.

the wheels are in motion pointless or not. we'll find out more. i'm good with it, you'll have to just maw over all the new evidence. :)

but i totaly agree with the soviet document drive. definitely NOT pointless.

I also think that religion is not a major factor for what you called an antagonism between Poland and Russia today. Today, this antagonism is politically motivated, fueled by media, sustained and nurtured by the elites for political reasons as well....In Russia, well...Russia is a different story...Personally, I think that Russia should have abandoned and condemned its soviet past. It could have given a ground for better relations between today's Poland and Russia.

right

I think that most Poles are incapable of thinking about Russians as friends or allies for various reasons. Which is in my opinion a mistake

right now it's not a mistake besides the cool relations aren't just from the PL side. it takes two to tango and the russians sure want to lead.

where is the contradiction? some things can be noble and can be pointless too...

i guess but that's not my thinking here. it's not pointless

who told you that?

am i incapable of observation?

History / Władysław Sikorski remains to be exhumed for cause of death [43]

Why aren't there Ph.D. candidates and notable historians like Norman Davies or Natalie Lebedeva crying foul on this matter?

lack of knowledge of some of the events in central/eastern euro? afrika? "politics" related to both?

Couldn't it be as simple as "I love my country and I feel as though I was wronged? It is not always a dubious means to an end that gains are made, but an opportunity for another.

Hey, I am just saying.

i'm thinking that's part of the point.

... ah, you missed the point.

hmmm. the point is to find out more. you seem to want to bury it instead of examining it. why?

Yes, of course I've heard of DNA, but do you know what it stands for? How many amino acids there are? Which amino acids can be paired with each other? How many combinations are there? What is the difference between multi-strand and single-strand? Etc.

exactly.. he has to be dug up to answer those questions. it's a tedious process.

his response was that sometimes accidents happen at opportune moments in history and a gain is achieved by the bad guy. It is not always a dubious means to an end that gains are made, but an opportunity.

no one is disputing that, for sure. wise man he is/was. BUT not everything is an accident. you also raised questions above, that need answers to even start. and they are well in the process by now. we'll know more soon enough. it may be nothing, or it may be big. it may bring some closure though, as pgtx said. we'll just have to wait it out.

but Sikorski's death is not...

ok, you say you went to Harvard? hmm.. how can you be so conclusive without those first steps you raised questions about.. hmmm

Search for the truth is always noble; however, I'm afraid this investigation is not going to change ANYTHING...yet another pointless exercise.

you seem to contradict yourself there. is it noble or is it pointless then.. make up your mind.

it's definitely NOT pointless.

Let's assume for a moment that Polish investigators proved the following: Brits assassinated Sikorski. Question: Is our government ...

.....So my question is: what problems is it going to solve for today's Poland?! How is it going to help Poland?! Is this going to bring more jobs to our economy? Is it going to help build highways and freeways?!!!

ever hear of bargaining chips? english have lot's of guilt and there are no better guilt extractors then a bunch of polaks.

same goes for the americans.

1500zl - 2000zl @ the beginning; 3.5k zl/5k zl after 2-3 years; after longer experience (probably 10y) anything is possible with the bottom being 5000zl but it could be as high as 7k-10k zl or more.

(this is for a civil eng. job)
