News / Poland biggest problem [125]

Yes, Daisy polish people love to own property and get their own place as soon as they can. I worked hard waiting on tables for first couple of years, and studied hard at the same time, so can push a mouse for a very good living... :)

All jobs are needed, and as the world's population gets older, the medical field seems to be a way to go. And, with a piece of paper, you can get a good job, insurance and all.

News / Poland biggest problem [125]

I'm sure the pay is much better abroad, but I would understand, if it was a "temporary" job, used to support yourself, when you let's say - learn english. However, if you have a master degree, and 5,10 years later still are wiping arses, then it is pathetic and a total luck of ambition and pride.

Luckily, there are also lots of young people, who take pride in themselves and get respectable jobs.

Wyspianska, I totally agree with you. I really don't understand why young, very often educated people who finished university, want to go to another country, and do this kind of jobs. I see it also in the US and I really don't like it.

Love / Do Polish guys have a different approach to dating than others guys? [50]

it seems to be considered the "american way". I also read somewhere that countries who get overly imperialistic/capitalistic tend to have this kind of behavior glorified-

Friend, it is not glorified, it is talked about and mostly nor approved. People seem to like smut, and talk show hosts, or lefty TVs , like to to talk about it, (it draws attention), but an average neighbor next door, does not live this way.

USA, Canada / Polish Festival - Chicago [229]

Krysia, Sledz said that ADMIN may provide T-Shirts!!! Wouldn't it be great, a pack o people walking around, drinking, dancing and having polishforums.com address and some other info...on it? Maybe you can help ADMIN to design them? I wonder how many people would ask, what are we about, or just note the address and log on... Admin was somewhat "afraid' of "more" work. We could have variety of people signing on.. Fun, fun, fun. I'll be happy to donate the price of T-shirt, and then some.. :)

Yeah! Off to the mall to get a T-shirt.... or, use a permanent marker... :)
Krysia, being an artist, she can come up with some funky stuff on the T-shirt... This could be fun. We need some more people from the polish city of Chicago!

we should walk around with cards announcing The Polish Forum

How about T-shirts with the website address? I bet it would cause a sudden spike of activity on this website; plus tons of new members!

How about the free marketing Admin? :)

News / How does Poland imagine other countries see her? [84]

Dziesiec tysiesy mil?

It's 10000 km, not miles. And, I left because of sh**ty government and luck of opportunities, not because I hated Poland and its people. I also don't spread hatred, unlike you, which seems to be your mission in life, a low life I shall add. I can also use the word kmiot as many time as I want, it suits you perfectly.

Finally, you can silence your wife, if she lets you, not me.

On the topic, many people in the US who never traveled abroad, still think that most of the world lives in huts with straw roofs, not only Poland. Poland as a communist country is still deeply engraved in everybody's mind. It is slowly changing, however.

Travel / Visit Polish Castle by Pilica River [3]

This is not to far from where I grew up, but I never been there. I took a dip in Pilica River in the summer though... :)

Maybe some day I'll have a chance to visit and admire the castle.
