Life / Homosexuals in Poland / Hands off (PETITION) [797]

What kind of question is this? They're probably doing the same things most 60 yr olds do on a daily basis. Maybe they're playing cards and vacationing by the Baltic :)

Life / Questions about Living in Poznan, Poland [10]

What is the name of the place to buy a Student Tram Pass?

You can probably get student discounts at any of the Kiosks.\

What are the rules for tipping waiter/waitresses? Is it
included in VAT? (like in Germany)

Tip as you feel appropriate. 15-20% depending on quality of service.

How does mail work in Poland? Do I just order items to be
shipped to my doorstep address, or do I need a PO Box?
What is the Post Office called?

Stacja pocztowa. Yes, you can have parcels delivered.

Is tap-water drinkable?

I wouldn't :) Bottled water is preferred unless you're boiling for tea.

Feedback / How do I know which threads are currently active? [12]

I must admit being new to PF I find it hard know which threads are currently active even

The ones that are populated in the home page or in your 'checker' at the top. Clear them out and you can refresh all of the up to date discussions.

Feedback / Archives [20]

there any call to have an archive here on PF? Or any reason why there isn't? :)

If you go into Off topic lounge you'll see that the beginning dates back to January. How far back would you like to store topics?

USA, Canada / No US Visa Waiver for Poles - 8/9/07 [96]

Now, I don't think there are any Poles fighting in Iraq.

I believe there are still around 900 troops still in Iraq.

Bush promised to drop the visa requirement for Polish people if the Poles helped out in Iraq war.

I don't think he promised their entry into the VWP, but he did promise to work with congress. Whether he did or not will be a mystery. From what I understood, congress was in favor.... I won't deny him being a liar though :)

Feedback / Suggestion about "Phrase of the Day" [7]

There can be more than one right answer.

Absolutely, but it's been proven that such discussions end up with name calling and negative comments.
I think it's a good idea, but there can't be too much side discussions because it'll be difficult for someone new to navigate through numerous threads.

Feedback / Suggestion about "Phrase of the Day" [7]

I don't see why not. Start a thread in PL General language. If there's success and not a lot of arguing about what's correct or not, then I don't see why it can't be made a sticky.

USA, Canada / No US Visa Waiver for Poles - 8/9/07 [96]

Hillary Clinton & Barrack Obama will change everything...they love Polish people.

Neither of them will be elected. Obama isn't ready and Hilary is taking crap for Bills mistakes.

News / Weak US dollar in Poland and other countries... [180]

My logic- I'm no tree hugger, but I know that it's dangerous fro the surrounding environment and workers there. If there's a problem, it's so far out there that it would take days to get to, dig them out and freeze :) Plus the fact that animal habitats would be destroyed. We're in the age of technology and we need an environmentally friendly alternate. How can you not understand?
