Life / Homosexuals in Poland / Hands off (PETITION) [797]

you sound very insecure about your sexuality

are you sure your not a closet shirt lifter...?

That's what it sounds like to me. Such a fear in his typing makes me believe that he's scared to be one himself. Poor soul.

Love / My Stupid Friend [40]

wouldn't u like your GF to go out for a FEW hours walk with a male friend twice a week?

Probably not. I would try to force myself to understand if he was maybe a childhood friend or sth, but not a new friend.

Life / Halloween in Poland? [77]

Children won't demand sweeties from adults, but will distribute them.

Borring....:)

Together with the animators dressed in white

This is similar to our ghost costume which eventually spread to many other horror creatures. A white sheet over your head with 2 eye holes. A classic ghost costume.

Life / Halloween in Poland? [77]

My gf carved a Jack o Lantern in Poznan and a priest told her it was no good because it attracts the dead :/

Life / Why are Poles attracted to animals? [53]

If you read my original post, I clearly stated that I was searching for funny / unique terms and see which regions were searching for them

or do you mean that you wanted to post sth to shoot down Poles somehow.....

I'm not sure if any of you posters are Polish or not (I'm not), but you guys definitely get offended easily. Is this part of Polish culture, too?

In a Polish forum? Nah....

Love / My Stupid Friend [40]

as for the "closeness" {which i never said, READ>> better friends(hanging out more)}

Um...when you hang out more and become better friends, that's getting "closer" to someone :) Just a different choice of words.

Not trying to start shite nauczyciel, but it sounds like you were trying to co*k block and I can see why some would get bent because of this.

Maybe this wasn't your intention and I apologize, but how is he really to know what would come of this.

Love / My Stupid Friend [40]

I'm not controlling or posessive, but if some guy was chattin up my gf I think that I'd be skeptical of it as well. Especially if I notice she getting very close to someone for 5 weeks.

How close were you 2 getting? What was the context of the chat? Maybe he has the right to feel this way because of your obvious intentions of trying to make her your own.

Feedback / My Thoughts on this Forum and Moderators [71]

the bottomline is that both admin and the mods provide a fantastic service for us here which remains FREE and uncluttered with annoying adverts... and they largely go unthanked for it

Thanks B woo :)

Shell- Your love is felt...especially in the Random abuse thread ;)

It's good snow, but crowded and unfortunately there's no off-piste boarding/skiing.

Travel / What are Your Best Poland Travel Tips? [64]

Are there any good hotels in Krakow

Europejski Hotel
Novotel Centrum

You can also check HotelsPoland.com. Just try to get ratings :)

How long would the trip be from Krakow to Auschwitz

1.5 - 2 hrs

How much time should we budget for touring Auschwitz? How much time for the salt mine?

I wouldn't try both in the same day. I'd also get to Auschwitz early :)

Travel / What are Your Best Poland Travel Tips? [64]

In Poland, in a railway carriage, they will steal all your thing and then just throw your body out through a window on to the tracks below. Human life has almost no meaning whatsoever to the Poles

That's strange. I've travelled across Poland several times during all hours and I've never had any problems. You can be robbed anywhere in the world. I live in NY and I'm sure there are more muggings/theft here than in Poland. I for one feel safer there :)

Puzz-

It's not a power trip thing. Some discussions may be closed because they get out of control and are breeding grounds for trolls. If you feel that we've ended a discussion that you feel the need to comment on, please feel free to let any of us know and perhaps we can work together toi clean it up and re-open for discussion, or create a new one with a title that's not so negative.

Theres often no rhyme or reason as to why its been edited either.

There is a rhyme and reason. Please provide an example.

USA, Canada / letter of invitation to the US? [8]

It's an invitation letter explaining why you want them to visit along with stressing that you'll take full responsibility, provide room and board, cover any medical expenses, feed, and provide a flight back if necessary.

It helps if they are students. If not, they need to have other "strong ties" to Poland (bank acct-Job-Property) or it will be denied. I sent a letter and it wasn't even requested by the officer. Good luck!

USA, Canada / How long does it take Polish post to reach the US (Georgia)? [4]

Sometimes it takes between 1.5 - 3 weeks for me to receive a package. However, going the other way it's taken a 4-6 for mine to get there. Maybe it depends on whether the PL postal worker want to work that day :)

UK, Ireland / English people attitude towards Poles? [761]

I still think you were wrong to insult him in that way,

I was raised with tough love and had to fight tooth and nail for what I have today. I was just laid off recently as well so I understand, but since I have experience in the world I was able to get something right away. You're absolutely correct in saying that I don't know anything about the UK, but I know work has to be out there somewhere.....even if it is picking strawberries. In your opinion I'm wrong in telling him to stop crying and try harder.

If i've offended you I do apologize. We just have a different approach to things in life

Hope you're enjoying your pie

You are psychic now are you,or just paranoid

You're the one who's acting paranoid. My comment wasn't made towards you and I was simplt stating that life is tough and you have to get off of your arse in order to make it in today's society. The competition is fierce and instead of wasting time in a forum whining about it, he should be out looking. Stop complaining about the PL being there and do anything to make money.

a job is a job

Absolutely, but unfortunately some people are picky and then wonder where all of the work is.

Oh,and arnt you the clever little soldier, good for you,you spotted a typo by a dyslexic and oh so hilariously copied it in your post, laugh

I actually made the same error

UK, Ireland / English people attitude towards Poles? [761]

A moderators duty is to ensure some form of fair play on a free forum, not to come on threads they have no connection to and insult people.,or am I mistalen there?

You're mistaken. I have the freedom to post in any topic I feel the need to.

rest my case, you cannot post without insults, your words are all the arguement needed

Please point out where I've insulted someone. Perhaps you're extremely sensitive, but Cry me a river isn't an insult. My sincere apologies if you're offended.

It is the only name for a strawberry picker

I've never heard of a strawberry picker...as a job anyway. I have strawberries and I pick them. Would you be calling me this? ;)

Point out one instance where I have "told people to go home" ,go on,where ?

Are you also Craig P? My statement was towards him.

Genealogy / Surname Wyroclawski [6]

i really cant believe no-one on here who is in poland does not have any information or knowledge

It can be possible that just the people that frequent this forum don't have knowledge of this.

holy communion certificate

If you have this, then you have the name of the Church? Have you contacted the parish for any remaining records?

moderator" since when has it been a moderators job to insult

Insult by saying "cry me a river"? Get a spine. I was stating 5the fact that it's tough out in the world and crying in a forum isn't going to help. Of course I don't know his situation, but I know what it's like to struggle.

I will have some strawberry picker

This is another name for what now?

It's rude to tell people to go home when they're just trying to make sth of themselves and I'm tired of seeing it in this forum.

have never been one for sitting on my arse at home and before the poles turned up finding a job was a lot easier

Wahhhh. Cry me a river. You're just looking for the easy way. You said it yourself.

Life can be tough mate...it's a dog eat dog world and some weak ones just don't make it. I suggest you look harder.
