Love / Help, Polish men are very complicated! [51]

You guys on the forum are tough!

Not really, if you were in the same situation with an English guy - how would you read it? Would you dash off and google for a forum for English men?

By the way does he just give you a quick peck on the hand or does he give it a little lick? If he licks, it could be that he's craving salt, offer him a bag of walkers ready salted and the hand kissing may stop.

Love / Help, Polish men are very complicated! [51]

I am trying to understand a little more about Polish men and their culture before i make a big mistake and end up looking really stupid.

And I TOLD YOU that they are no different to English men..some are well mannered some are not...FFS they are not from another planet!!! HE IS A MAN from a european country, they are no different to men from the rest of Europe....

If you were a man, we'd be telling you to grow some balls!

We can still say that - in a metaphorical way ;0)

News / Nobility / Aristocracy in Poland ? [92]

are u sure>?!

She's living in a dream land! (that was polite shelley for "she's talking bollox) Next she'll be telling us that Latin is obligatory to get into Oxford or Cambridge!

The majority of ex-pats live in France for the weather and the wine and very little else. Half of them don't even speak the French language, or they murder it.

Do you know the majority of ex-pats that live in France?

There is a huge difference between unforgiving and disliking something.

I still don't get what you are going on about, do you think that most English people are still hung up about the Norman invasion? I expect you think that we'd like to stand on Senlac Hill and have a re-match? PMSL!

Life / Women in Poland dyeing hair red [30]

I call it Eastern European red - many years ago on my first visit to Czech Rep I couldn't believe how many woman who had this brassy coloured hair, I just guessed that was the only colour they could get ;0)

that's a type of deep red isn;'t it ?

Chestnust is more a brown with a hint of auburn (generally hard for people to actually colour their hair this colour as it never turns out, it only looks nice when it's natural)

News / Nobility / Aristocracy in Poland ? [92]

With the British of course, we can never really forgive them.

I wish people wouldn't make such flipant remarks, FYI Lexi there are more people in the UK that like the French than like the minorities you like! FYI Lexi there are 1,000's of ex-pats who have been living in France for years and we are still moving to France in our droves, so much for not liking the French! Oh just in case you didn't know French is the most popular language taken by GCSE students in England.

Life / So it's hit me too, isolation in Poland [46]

I joined a gym and enjoyed nodding to people who also nodded to me

Personally Ive never made a friend at the gym, I like to get in work like a biatch and get the hell out of there! Harry must know what the ex-pats are up to in Warsaw, speak to him.

News / Nobility / Aristocracy in Poland ? [92]

1) doesn't mean aristocracy is the center of my life (I was just being curious about how these 'things' work here)

I would imagine the same as everywhere else in the world (certainly in England) not a corgis bolloxs chance of getting an invite for drinks unless you are related, dating or have know the family for centuries!

News / Should Poles become a minority in Poland? [150]

So, a British-born British citizen who beats his 16-y/o daughter into marrying a 60-y/o cousin is not quite British in my opinion.

No they are not, but they will argue that they are....yet they will demand different rights to an indiginous (English, Irish (NI), Scotish, Welsh) British person...

I didn't create that problem.

You didn't and the problem is being rectified.

You are obviously confusing ethnicity (English, Irish, Chinese, Pakistani, etc) and national identity (British).

Im not confused, being British before Britian became ethnically diverse related to people who were English, Irish (NI), Welsh and Scotish, the confussion started when eveyone who came here became British - British isn't just an identity....it was a name for a collective of the countries based in GB..

Life / MARRIAGE IN POLAND bride and groom not Polish. [5]

Is this another case of the A8 being treated differently?

Possibly, my mate married a Greek guy in Greece, she didn't have to do anything regarding her marriage cert when they came back here to live...

Life / Wonderful Poland.......but the attitude of Polish people [150]

You say "predominently white" Im talking about villages where there are NO ethnic minorities, believe it or not there are places still left in the UK where only white English people live.... and besides, Chinese are different, they are completely westernised, unless you're running a canabis farm or trafficing children I have no problems ;0)

I've just noticed you live in London....Come on...you are trying to compare London with a sleepy village in the Derbyshire countryside!

Life / Wonderful Poland.......but the attitude of Polish people [150]

Places where they have no experience of people from other countries always shows more racism.

Most of the people that live in my friends village commute to larger cities so they have plenty of day to day experience of "minories"

In general, people (esp. outside the big cities) are afraid of everything new that is unknown to them. Time usually solves these things.

Again, I will explain, most people who live in villages commute and see the trash that's far enough from their doorstep to know they don't want it on their doorstep.

I dont think it's ignorant or racist, I think they have the right idea...at least some places in England will be preserved...

Life / Wonderful Poland.......but the attitude of Polish people [150]

Shut up! Im a country boy,I can see nothing but miles of open fields from where I sit now(or would if it wasnt night ;)) and your talking out your bum chum.

Funny you say that my friend lives in a Village in Derbyshire - very posh, one little pub, small private school and a shop - so yes it is a village, I once asked her if there were any ethnic minorities living there, she just laughed and said that they'd be a lynching mob if anyone even came to view a property....So Ksysia was indeed correct that at least some of the English countryside is rather racist. You see they see the state of inner cities and how the rot has set in and don't want the same for their little pieces of paradice and are happy to be openly hostile (of course in a very polite manner) with those they don't see as being worthy of living amongst them.

News / Should Poles become a minority in Poland? [150]

I think Britishness is about having a certain kind of mindset, and not about blood lines.

Are you talking about British or English, Scotish (NI) Irish and Welsh?

White Africans have to be automatically given British nationality

As for white Saffers the majority of them are of Dutch decendents not British.

Equally, if it is about blood and ethnicity, most of the North Americans, Australians, New Zealanders and White Africans have to be automatically given British nationality. It is not happening at all, because the British do not think in such a way

All these countries have independence from Britain, they wanted independence they have their own nationalities now and they made it clear they wanted out and to break away from Britain so tell me why they should be given any preferential treatment because their GGGGG grand dad was born in the UK and left when he was 15 years old to seek fame and fortune, An English person can't just walk into any of the above countries and set up home.

So, a Chinese man who was born in, say, Manchester, speaks English as his mother tongue and behaves completely British is indeed British. A Chinese man who was born in Krakow, speaks Polish as his mother tongue and behaves completely Polish is not regarded as Polish at all.

Yoshi, British is a term that seems these days to apply to anyone born on this Island or rocked up here and stayed for a few years to get a passport. If you look at forms that ask questions about your ethnicity, you will always see a part that says (for instance) "Chinese" so whilst a Chinese person has a British passport and was possibly born here and speaks broad Manc, he is still Chinese, hence the new wording "British born" {ethnicity} - this is to keep a check on the "diversity" in the UK...

or they are maried about papers

That's debatable.

Love / POLISH GUY AND BLACK GIRL! [52]

Was he? He ain't dead yet...

Sorry sweety x

In that scenario, you would be Anglo-Irish.

Okay, Im happy with that, because I have blood ties, the Polish guy living in America doesn't, therefore I consider him Polish but living in another country.

I'll put it like this, say my friend decides to go and live in Spain with her daughter, will her daughter become Spanish because she simply went to live there with her parents? I'd say no, she is still an English person who happens to live in Spain, if her daughter marries a Spanish guy their children will be part English and part Spanish they wont be full Spanish just because they happen to be born in Spain...

Love / If a guy was nice? [42]

The lack of Polish women’s solidarity towards Polish men will ceil a bleak future for your nation.

Yeah, look what happened to Britain when we let you lot in!

That maybe true, but it's hardly a justification for spouting racist bile.

Actually, I'm sick of the state of this country and how people like Depak can be blatantly racist (of course he can he's got a brown skin), but let me say a word against him and of course Im in the wrong!

Love / If a guy was nice? [42]

One day you will realise that no nice Indian girl will want to marry you cos you have slept around too much.

Do you honestly think a nice Indian girl is going to be aware of his behaviour, come on foxy you know how it works!!

yeh its sickening. Ignorant rednecks, I hope they all die of swine flu.

It works both ways and I'll tell you this for nothing, Indians and Pakistanis are amongst some of the most racist people I have ever come across!

Love / If a guy was nice? [42]

A lot of them don't like the polish men that go to work in the Uk because they often get hassled by these guys in bars, clubs and buses. My fiance and her friends experienced this and reckons it's due to a lot of polish men having a bad grasp of English, and so, having heard a female speak polish; they latch on to them and this could explain why some polish women, when living in England avoid Polish men.

I find that hard to believe, okay Im sure in the numbers of men that came here from Poland there are going to be a few dicks, but you make it sound like all Polish women are avoiding all Polish men...sounds like tosh to me!
