Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there's still a kind of class called aristocracy or nobility in Poland, or sthg like that ?

I'm asking the question because I'm in Warsaw right now, I belong to French aristocracy and I'd like to meet nobles over here.

Cheers.
French Noble.

I thought all the French aristocracy were beheaded during the Napoleonic era.

No, a big part of them were beheaded but another part survived ; as in Poland I think. What's more, Napoleon himself made people noble.

So ? any nobles in poland ? (and on this forum ;)) ?

So, no one ?
Never heard about Poniatowski or Potocki family, Polish ppl ;) ?

My family from my grand mothers side was related to duchess Potocka, but I don't know the details, I just know that I don't have any direct blood relations..

beside that, I dunno if you know but this board is used mainly by people who are not polish, so stating "polish people" might be a mistake : o

There is quite big group of old aristocracy in Poland, but you don't expect us to call them and ask if they want to see you. I mean, come on.

If you don't know anything about the subject I' talking about and if you've nothing else to say than abuses, then why don't you just shut up ?

but you don't expect us to call them and ask if they want to see you. I mean, come on.

Yes kioko, I do. Have you heard about networks ? It works rather quite well in other countries...why not in Poland ?!

By the way Kioko, isn't it what this site is about ? some ppl ask questions, some other reply... if someone ask questions about a decent gym in Warsaw, are you going to reply dryly "but you don't expect us to call them and ask if they want to see you" ?

Of course I don't expect you guys to call them for me, I was just curious to know how it's like in Poland.

Well, again, I just cannot see why you ABSOLUTELY want to reply if it's nothing interesting. I don't even mention the prejudices you seem to have.

But I did replied your question. There is a big group of aristocracy in Poland, they meet in their own company as most of them are related in some way.

All except Mr French Noble, from fantasy Island. I reckon he must to two hundred and five years of age, still it would be nice to know how he lasted son long!

Well, maybe it was a bit clumsy, but I'm not a perfect English-speaker like all of u guysm but also maybe if you think a bit and if you consider it from another point of view, you'll change your mind.

Because I posted this message :
1) doesn't mean aristocracy is the center of my life (I was just being curious about how these 'things' work here)
2) doesn't mean I ONLY want to meet ppl who belong to aristocracy. It's just the topic of this particular topic.

All except Mr French Noble

I cannot say anything else than "open a book of History"... there are still btw 2,500 and 3,00 noble family in France. If it's what you call fantasy, well...

3,000 sorry

I would imagine the same as everywhere else in the world (certainly in England) not a corgis bolloxs chance of getting an invite for drinks unless you are related, dating or have know the family for centuries!

I do not deny this, however you are not one of them,

I have acquainted with the Potocka family in Krakow, she is a good laugh, and very very open.

Oh, so you want to socialize with a bunch of self-righteous pricks
with some terrible delusions of grandeur? Very well - try this for
a start...

...and when you're done with them and would rather meet some
interesting people then you can always come back to this forum :-)

Have "fun"...

I am 18 shoot!

Some of you really have inferiority complex...

Why not? My family sacreficed what they had for the freedom of their country and many other noblemen did the same thing. (I look down upon people who are not patriotic since it's proved that peasents also did fight for their country)
