In Krakow in my area we had quite local dish called "babiorki" it was lard with onion and little chunks of cooked chicken liver and yes ...bacon spread....I think ( skwarki?)

Yes, a lot of men think that they must be cool and aloof to be a man. I think, it is the English culture which teaches the men to be reserved and not emotional. Polish men are able to show their feelings and say their thoughts.

I prefer them much more that sweets in UK.

I haven't been long in USa ( about 6 weeks) but i remmebr that everything was quite sweet.

In my first job in UK there were 3 women in my team who completely didn't accept me - I don't know why I think probbaly I was learning too quickly was too educated....was I thread to them? I don't know.

I was making a plan to meet with a married couple (i work with the wife and we've all been out before) for some drinks on Saturday night. we talked on GG then she went offline. i SMSd her about 15 min later asking what happened. She claimed no internet connection. So i then SMSd back and said that i will come to the city and find a place and we will meet. I didn't hear back from her. I waited 30 min. I then SMSd her and said...."ok thanks for writing back to me. I guess you don't want to do anything, so papa"

I have impression that you are bit lonely and used to going out . Maybe you put some pressure on people wanting going out with them but they are too polite to say not and make stupid excuses.

I don't want generalise but Polish people don't spend so much time in pubs, bars like some other nations.
Reason could be money , different customs ....

I don't know much about teachers but i have heard that they can be bit funny and ****** in Poland.

However,from what I have seen of the Polish in the UK they are definitely more 'old fashioned' and have better manners than modern British people- I think this is due to Poland being a more traditional,disciplined and less wealthy nation.

I probably mixed with different people and I didn't say that all English are like that but....some are.

It seems that I touched some delicate point here.

I met more people with bad manners in UK during my 4.5 years than I met in Poland during my 30 years. And even those uneducated less inteligent people I met in Poland had mostly good manners.

There are quite a few people on this forum who assume that Polish are not tolerant becuse we are not multi-cultural country.
I don't agree with it and find it little annoying.

What about UK, France, Germany,USA .......are they so tolerant? Not really, multi - culture is imposed on them and they don't have choice that is why there are so many ethnic districts there.

Tri city is quite good for English as you like sea and seasides - it is a bit like in Uk I suppose...cold water, windy....

and i think people are rude because of the flak we get from some for buying polish property...
