UK, Ireland / Why are we paying child benefit in Poland? [63]

And next time - vote. Choose better.

I think it's safe to say almost everyone knows that the major changes and decisions - which affect all of us - are being made in the EU parliament. So I'm wondering why certain people don't seem to unite under a common banner, and form a party in the EU parliament themselves, instead of being seperate political entities, which are probably doomed to stay small and pretty much insignificant on a local level?

I don't even know why I'm posting this, I must be out of my mind or something.

Life / Why are Polish people so ruthless? [87]

Some are and some aren't, Arien. You can't get away from that fact.

How about, a few who are and most really aren't in this case? Anyway, I'm sure you get the idea..

;)

As it happens I am not really supposed to change their work hours regularly anyway, I was just doing it because they needed that help and I was able to. I can still do it but now, as of this week, I choose not to. Of course though, any new Pole joining will still be treated with kindness until they decide to turn on me too.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe, in some situations, you could point the finger at yourself, instead of punishing others for your own misfortune?

I fell in love with a Polish colleague so deeply that I took it upon myself to learn the language, albeit I am not fluent but can have conversations. However I never did anything wrong, we remained very close friends.

Well, it turns out that she has a boyfriend, or a husband already. (Which is it?) Too bad for you.

Then one day she just decided I was nothing when her boyfriend gave her hassle because she is not allowed to have male friends.

That's what you tell yourself. Ofcourse the guy doesn't like you. She's his girlfriend, and you've said it yourself, you've allowed yourself to fall in love with her. (And maybe she even encouraged you in some way, I guess we'll never know!) The bottom line? There are more than enough ladies out there who don't have a boyfriend, or a husband. (Should I draw you a map?)

;)

Regardless, you shouldn't take it out on others, and not even on her, simply because you're disappointed. Hey, don't expect everyone to like you, and don't expect everyone to please you either! There's no point in debating this really, and no actual harm has been done? (Okay, maybe she has bruised your ego a little, but you should be able to shrug it off!) You'll be fine.

Travel / Amsterdam to Krakow and back [8]

40 minutes? That's very fast!!!!

I meant a direct flight ofcourse. In most cases, you'll have a stop in either Warszawa or Katowice. (Katowice is closer though!)

What I mean to ask is how long the train journey from Krakow to Amsterdam will take.

Long? I can't give you the exact time schedule when you're travelling through three different countries by train. I would book a flight if I were you though. (It's probably going to be cheaper aswell!)

Currently, there are 3 airlines going from Amsterdam to Krakow: Austrian (via Vienna), Czech (via Prague) and LOT (via Warsaw). Anyone have any recommendations on which one to take? Or are they more or less the same?

You can also book a flight from Rotterdam Airport (Or from Eindhoven.) to Katowice. You'll probably reach Kraków much faster that way. Just a suggestion ofcourse!

Travel / Amsterdam to Krakow and back [8]

Take a later flight (around 6pm) from AMS to KRK with stopover at Vienna.

Buy a one-way ticket from AMS to KRK and take the train back from KRK to AMS after the conference.

I don't know how important this conference is, but it's always a good thing to have a plan B when you're having serious doubts. (Hey, it's better to be safe than sorry?)

Does anyone know how long is the journey from KRK to AMS and how much does it cost?

The journey will take about 40 minutes, and around the dates you've provided for us, you should expect the price of a ticket to be around 108 €, and a one-way ticket around 49 €. (If you take off from AMS.)

:)

Powodzenia!

Life / Military service in Poland [17]

I think it's a good thing. People who might decide to risk their life should do so out of their own free will.

However, I do think people should tell those young guys and girls a bit more about the harsh reality of war-torn countries though. See, you have these commercials on T.V. about how the army helps those people in troubled countries, and about how you can actively work for peace..

Well, fighting for peace is like you-know-what for virginity, I'm afraid it doesn't really work like that..

Love / Do not marry Polish woman [212]

well, i know i'm normal ... but do you?

Define normal? According to Aztek culture, I'm not normal. (I should eat people and drink blood.) According to Christian culture, I'm not normal. (I should be a 80 year old virgin one day!)

Hmm.. I don't know? Sometimes, being normal seems a little too crazy for me?

Love / Do not marry Polish woman [212]

so, with zero money, can we say this it is impossible to find even one woman?

You could find love with no money at all, but you'll have to possess other qualities, skills and talents.. (And an adventurous attitude!) If you like some Asian women, African women, Indian women.. Amish girls, Gypsy girls or even travelling hippies, who knows you might find the love of your life?

I'm sure I haven't mentioned all of the options, but maybe you should know that there also places where people work in self-sustaining or self-relying communities. (Just trying to tell you it's possible!)

so, no cure, no remedy to me?

Yes, the cure would be to get of your butt, and work for yourself to begin with, so you can try to realize your own goals. (For some girls, it's not all about the money, but more likely about the fact that you can be there, and that they can rely on you when they need you the most!)

Life / What are people in Poland REALLY saying about 'swine flu'? [41]

I'm interested to know what the ordinary person on the Polish street is thinking about swine flu.

I'll ask around if no one here manages to satisfy your curiousity. (It so happens to be that a lot of ordinary Polish people live and work in my area, about 40.000!) I bet they're going to say the same though!

Love / Do not marry Polish woman [212]

I'll give you very realistic advice then, without sounding too complicated. If you're looking for love then don't look for it untill you really feel something for someone. If you're looking for love, then make sure you have what it takes to care for her. First, do these things for yourself, and have fun, and she'll be there eventually.

A woman needs and wants things like security, a future, stability and safety. Maybe she even wants children. Think about it, if you have zero money, could you offer her any of this? (Don't blame her for this, because life isn't always a fairytale, and things like work and a decent meal on the table are important!)

Unless there's a girl out there who wouldn't mind a poor guy, maybe even a rich girl or woman who doesn't need this type of security from you, and if she really likes you for who you are that much, I think you'll have to make up your mind about your priorities and take your responsibilities as a man.. (It's your own choice though, I'm not forcing anyone or dictating it as a must!)

If you're looking for a wild night, you don't always need money to take her home, atleast, you don't have to be rich or whatever. (Only humourless guys who don't really know how to talk to women need things like money!) You'll have to find out your own approach, and do what feels right for you.

:)

brain still can do anything to find a woman for love?

Hey, having character, personality and intelligence always help, but you should remember girls are more about feelings.

Love / Do not marry Polish woman [212]

I think you need a slavic woman to bang your brains out.

I wouldn't mind. (At all!)

:)

i been carrying this brain for ages and seeing useless at all.

You know, too much thinking isn't always good for you. Sometimes you'll just have to act, do, enjoy, learn, and not ask too many questions. Just let your feelings wander and experience..

That's life, and a book can't predict your life, or even determine what will happen throughout yours. You know, it takes two to Tango, and you won't always have it your way..

I'd say that's pretty foolish of him, even if she was beautiful. You should be with someone who wants to be with you.

If it's only about money, or if you're looking for a wild night then you really don't have to spend thousands! I'm not really selfish, and ofcourse I don't know how much exactly your friend earns, but I know that 10.000 € (Taxed!) would be how much the average girl here would earn from a year's work. (Maybe a little less, and in some cases, a little more, only talking about the average here!)

So spending 10.000 € on my girlfriend? Maybe if I earn 80.000 € a year!

;)

he even paid for her boyfriend to come

Nuts!

Not most.Some of them are.(20-30%).

Okay, 20-30% could be a realistic figure among young girls, but then again it doesn't have to do much with the fact that they're Polish..

;)

i have always told bosses/directors to give them double salary than guys get.

I'm happy if they earn the same. (Which she did!)

Love / Do not marry Polish woman [212]

You know, I once worked with a Polish girl called Sabine. She had cramps one day, and I told her that is was okay to take a day off, and that I would make sure she would keep the job so if she was worried about that she didn't have to! (I knew the boss, local, and a friend of mine.)

She refused a dozen times, and I let her. She then nearly collapsed a few times, and she had to run to the toilet to throw up a few times. She came back, I told her she should go home and take some rest. She refused again! I got angry and lifted her up, and drove her to her Bungalow, and said she would stay there for atleast two days!

She really thought she would lose her job or something, and I left her crying. (I wasn't sorry!)

After those days she came back to work. She had went to the doctor and she had something serious. She worked there 5 hours, and I can tell you most people would've stayed at home. (Even men!)

My point? She did work most girls wouldn't do. She worked for her own money. She even did the work when she should've been in bed, sick. I respect such girls, and I've met a lot of those girls.

So all your proof and pictures (Not accusing you or anything, but for all I know those girls in the pictures could be your nieces or cousins! Or some other picture you've jacked off the net somewhere!) and claims about how most Polish girls are golddiggers don't exactly move me.

;)

In short, I happen to know better.

News / JEW YOUTH SHOULD CLEAN UP THEIR ACT IN POLAND [420]

Unfortunately the New Testament that is full of hate towards the Jews

That whole book is full of hatred. If you can't see this, you're blind. If you want to believe in God, then believe in love, not listen to hatred. If you want to be Atheïst. Also good, just be okay person. Good enough.

:)

So just shut up about Jew youth and Polish youth and whatever, (Not directing at you, no worry!) we're all people. End. Period. Simple.
