USA, Canada / Are holidays to Florida popular in Poland? [21]

Lots to do in Orlando, that's for sure. You should check out the MGM and Universal Studios apart from Epcot and Disney World. Sea World is awesome too. Lots of good restaurants, T-shirts, shells, gift stores everywhere. Your hotel should have a pool, it's one of the nicer hotels there. To rent a car you should start checking a month or so before you get there to get the best deal. I like dealing with Enterprise, Budget or Payless are good too, but depending on the promotions they have you can check them out on the internet.

UK, Ireland / Polish Immigrants in England - and their Cultural Impressions [36]

not a lot to be honest.i found it easy to adjust.

That's coz you're a nice guy Rafik :)

It all depends on the person, some adjust quicker to a new country than others. Depends on their age, their family ties who they leave behind, the reason why they leave their country and who they came with. Leaving a family behind can make a person lonely or make that person find new companionship. Every situation is different and every individual will react differently but the majority take precedence over the situation and you do find many of them drinking, maybe because they have money now.

Love / Polish songs for a wedding [23]

Does anyone have the words for "Rosnie Trawka" or know where I can get them?

In english or Polish?

Rosnie Trawka
The Unveiling Song
As lovely green grass grows, throughout the promised land,
Before the main altar, you've given_____ your hand.
You've given _______ your hand, he gave a golden band,
Your eyes swelled up with tears, before your friends on hand.
Twelve lovely white petals, attached to this white rose,
Twelve heavenly angels, will serve the bride they chose.
The first angel has brought a white candle's brilliance,
The second angel brought, a lily's full fragrance.
The third angel has brought a lovely bouquet to hold,
The fourth angel has brought, your wedding band of gold.
concertinamusic.com/music/twelveangelswaltzv2.txt

And here's a different rośnie trawka in Polish:

Rośnie trawka, ziółko,
Zimne dni się, mienią,
Ty, wierna jaskółko,
Znów przed naszą sienią.

Z tobą słońce dłuzej,
Z tobą miła wiosna;
Witaj nam z podróży,
Śpiewaczko radosna.

Nie leć, czekaj, słowo!
Może ziarnka prosisz?
Może piosnkę nową
Z cudzych stron przynosisz?

Latasz, patrzysz wkoło
Czarnymi oczyma...
Nie patrz tak wesoło,
Nie ma jej tu, nie ma!

Poszła za żołnierza,
Tę rzuciła chatkę,
Koło tego krzyża
Pożegnała matkę.

Może lecisz od niej?
Po wiedzże mi przecie,
Czy nie są tam głodni,
Czy im dobrze w świecie?

Love / WHITE GUYS POLISH WOMEN [36]

It all depends on the guy not the color. Some Polish girls like to hear the word "kurva" all day from a white Polish guy.

Hehehe

Life / Cool Polish names [133]

Only I don't understand why Polish people give only Polish names to there children.

Because Poland is predominantly Roman Catholic and All these Piotreks and Anias are named after saints.

Life / Polish movies - what they are like? [34]

I recently viewed Mis, Teddy Bear. I can understand it's a great film, but as a person in the States, I had hard time following it. I belive the humor has to be viewed within the context of the culture and I simply don't have the cultural history of Polish person.

That's true. You would have to grow up in the communist era to understand it.

Love / BLACK GUYS POLISH WOMEN [809]

I'm glad you're happy. Sometimes these Polish guys treat a woman like a slave and don't appreciate her. So it doesn't matter what the nationality is, just so the guy treats you with love and respect.

Life / Cultural readjustment... returning to Poland from the West. [58]

Everybody reacts differently to experiences in life. I know a 19 year old who came to the US when he was 7 years old. He's happy back in Poland. He never seemed to adjust here, he left his parents and likes it better there. So some people just can't adjust and may seek conseling, but it's all how you perceive change.

Love / Fallen for a Polish Guy!! But he's got back to Poland to get married! [71]

Forget the loser. You'll have nothing but trouble and a miserable life if you keep in contact with him. He's getting married and he loves you? There must be something seriously wrong with him. The sooner you get him out of you mind the better.
