Work / How much Poles earn compared to foreigners! [29]

It depends if they are public or private doctors. Are you factoring in back-handed payments?

Japanese salaries are higher but their cost of living is MUCH higher than here.

Work / How much Poles earn compared to foreigners! [29]

3000PLN in hand is not that good for doctors here. The hard done by attitude is prevalent, stemming from a skewed sense of pride. There are many such self-piteous types in Scotland too.

History / UPA barbarian murders on Polish and Jewish neighbors during WW2 [150]

Brandeis, I know him. He had a major say in one of the seminal firearms cases in America. The next time I fall when playing football, and graze myself, I'll be sure to look out for the sunlight. Hmm...I play at night time :(

Language / Why Polish people use so many words to describe a situation? [122]

English is much wordier, I agree. Look at some texts and you will see just how superfluous it can be. I don't think, most of the time, that Poles are necessarily 'wordy'.

The simple answer is that English has a richer vocabulary. We have words for almost everything but, in Polish, one word can be used for different things.

Poles take a word as a central theme if you will. They then sub-classify it. For example, pilot (3 meanings). Better to serve these purposes would be kosz. It is the main subject but you can have kosz(yk) na zakupy, kosz na owoce, kosz na śmiecie, gramy w kosza, kosz do roweru. We just say basket (or trash can/bin lol) without sub-dividing too often.

Food / Good Polish Wines [74]

Medicine? LOL, rumour has it that many have been sent running to the Apteka for remedial elixirs to cure their ills. Wine is but one step up from vinegar in Poland, but fear not, vinegar is held in high regard here.

Food / Good Polish Wines [74]

Good Polish wine, hehehe, as I said, the Poles may brand NZ, OZ, or SA wine as their own, LOL

News / Dealing with constant insults against Polish [323]

Let's just say 'some' Polish administration did that to me. I think the poster you are referring to is Mister H.

When you get tired, you tend to throw out your natural emotions, one of which was anger yesterday.

I apologise to the gentleman above, even I have demons.

UK, Ireland / POLISH TEENAGER MURDERED IN UK..man convicted [28]

His response was completely disproportionate. If he likes beheading so much, it should be arranged for him. I really feel that people need to experience punishments for themselves.
