Life / What are your favourite Polish Radio stations...? [27]

RMFMAXX is the best station:P

Sometimes I listen to RMF FM but it can get a bit repetitive.

I like Orla FM which is a London based Polish internet radio.

I'm listening to that right now. :)

News / POLES STILL NEED VISAS TO THE U.S.A!! [84]

to the illegal Poles mucking it up for the honest ones.

So how do you stop them? Requiring them to have a visa hasn't stopped the illegals so far...

Love / Why do Polish women love to disrespect their fathers and their brothers? [78]

The big deal is that you dont see so many non white women dating out of thier race. I dont care about Polands plight I am british but my country has some serious problems socially because of mixed race unions.

Yes and I think that is your problem. You have a beef with mixed relationships full stop. I am sure there are BNP forums that you can vent on and people there will virtually slap your back and call you the big man and say you're right. People here disagreed with you and still you go on until your true intent has come over...you want Britain for the "Brits" (a term still undefined).

Well, this thread is serving no purpose so I'll probably lock it shortly.

Didn't mean to offend anyone.....but heres the truth!

You didn't offend for the most part but you tried to push across a point that had no substance. Get a bit of decent evidence behind you rather than "my Indian mate said so" and you might have half a point. There is no overall truth other than "some" Polish girls in the UK date Indian/Pakistani guys.

Stop waffling. No one is backing you up. I'm saying that you think this is a new phenomenon because you spotted a couple of Polish girls in relationships with Indian or Pakistani gentlemen. I'm telling you that it's not a new thing, it's been happening for years with Brit girls. Now there are more Polish girls in your neighbourhood some of them are getting into relationships with Indian or Pakistani gentlemen. Quite why you're so over-excited about it I'll never know. Deal with it. You're not a Polish guy so why do you worry so much? Let others live their lives.

It is something we British have not experiences before in such numbers in our own country................Sorry to break the news to you........!

Open Your Eyes. Yes, exactly as you describe has been happening for YEARS with British girls. Why now are you getting all excited about it? Give it a rest for crying out loud.

I am British and have lived in London all my life.

Lovely. I am British and I have lived in Edinburgh for my whole life.

Before Polish women came to my country it was rare to see a White women with an Indian or Pakki!

Then you have lived a sheltered life. This is not rare at all. Mixed relationships (white and black) were certainly the norm long before 2004 and they were more normal in London than they were in Edinburgh. It has nothing to do with Polish people at all.

Your also right....No real white man is gonna want to be inside a White women wo's had a non white dick in her!

Ah, now I gotcha! You fancied a Polish girl and she didn't fancy you. She fancied someone from a different ethnic background so you're hurt. Ah well, you'll get over it.

Life / WHAT WILL $1 and $100 BUY IN POLAND? [20]

In Poland a litre of unleaded petrol or a litre of diesel will cost you 4.63 zloty.

That is according to: aaroadwatch.ie/eupetrolprices :)

That's about $1.76 I think...

Language / My Learning Polish Woes... [64]

well, that's how i've learned everyday English, away from the books.

From the few Polish people I have asked this is how they explain their learning of English, not from books but from being constantly around English speakers. Their only problem is the writing of the language but they are getting there.

Doing a course in Polish (or any language) is, of course, the best way to learn it properly but being around native speakers often and speaking the language with them is a huge bonus in your learning experience. :)

Hang in there LC. Do you have Polish friends here that can help you in any way? I find the help of my Polish friends invaluable. :)

You probably already checked out these videos but it doesn't hurt to watch them again.

UK, Ireland / Cyfra + installed by Poloniacentre.com [2]

I'd be grateful for any insight to this.

When you call them do they have an answering machine message or is it just ringing out.

Strange you wouldn't hear back from them or they wouldn't answer, almost sounds like they've gone out of business.

Life / Public transport on Christmas Day in Poland [10]

The website of PKP has a timetable only valid until 13-12.

No, they'll release a new one soon.

You can try this page [booking.polrail.com/index.php?main_page=page_3] bookings to see if that can give you any more information (but don't book anything definite until you are sure it's running). ;)

Food / Does anyone have a recipe in English for Kotlet Mielony? [28]

If you really do make a good gołąbek, you should make me some and send it priority mail ;)

If I could send it priority mail then I would (and make some money!) but it doesn't work that way...yet! I need to make contact with a company who can freeze and then ship... :)

Food / Does anyone have a recipe in English for Kotlet Mielony? [28]

No more homecooked meals for me these days... :(

Then get cooking laddo! I used to be a "never" cook but I decided one day that I had enough of frozen crap and fast food junk and I have been experimenting since, and I have killed no-one yet! Gołąbki is the only Polish dish I have perfected(!) so far (and my Polish friends that have eaten it have loved it!). Cook from scratch, you can't beat it! :)

Food / Does anyone have a recipe in English for Kotlet Mielony? [28]

I have been searching for a decent recipe for kotlet mielony. I know they are fairly simple to make but I'd still like a recipe so if anyone has one in English or knows of where on the Net I can find one I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,

Life / Deadly Roads - "Are polish roads really THAT dangerous?" [139]

i turn on the tv to check how heavy the traffic is... and there are accidents all over the metroplex when i go to work...
and then during the day, on my way home, evening, night, all the time... so....?

Yeah there are crashes and bumps every day but I don't think the OP is just talking about bumps but more about deaths on the road which are less frequent.

They said that somewhere around 40-50 ppl die weekly from road accident

That's a high number for the size of population. UK had 2946 in 2007 (about 56 people per week).

Travel / Irish/Brits banned from hotels in Warsaw [43]

I'm not overly keen on a bunch of idiots who can't handle their drink

Me neither, in fact I find it intimidating to be in a bar with raucous stag parties. I have stayed in a hotel where there was a large stag party staying and they were a nightmare, running through the halls at night, shouting, banging on doors among other things. They were thrown out during the night with the assistance of the police.

I don't blame those hotels for taking that step and I hope it makes a difference.

We have pubs and bars here who actively advertise that it's THE place to have stag parties and hen nights (they can be just as rowdy) so the problem here is that it's the norm on a Friday/Saturday night to see groups of drunken men staggering around place on a stag night so then they assume that when they go abroad they can just act the same. They're heading off to Krakow (for example) assuming that type of behaviour will be tolerated because it's often accepted here.

UK, Ireland / BRITS LIKE POLISH FOOD [51]

I see polish food as fuel and nothing really more,

Well, at it's basic, all food is fuel when you think about it. ;)

I tried Bigos after much persuasion and decided that it is vile, Tastes ok but the texture made me urge.

Bigos is perhaps not for everyone then... ;)

UK, Ireland / BRITS LIKE POLISH FOOD [51]

I will when I get the chance :-)

Good. :) Try a variety and then let us know your thoughts on them. :)

I think that people aren't sure of Polish food because they don't know what ingredients are in some of the dishes. Sometimes some Brit friends of mine will ask what's in Polish food (like gołąbki, bigos...) and when I explain they actually say that it might be nice. So now my challenge to them is to try it...and usually they like it. :)
