News / Poland Rejects US Missile Shield (talks will continue...) [80]

You are hard to please, that's for sure :D

Not at all, US could come up with a bazilion excuses that would let them pull out of the venture and let us keep our face in Europe, right now flashing news are "US shat on Poland".

News / Poland Rejects US Missile Shield (talks will continue...) [80]

Poland for the US to offer a free missile shield

You have never offered us anything free, in fact there was a scandal when it was revealed you tried to have our previous goverment pay for the installation when it was you who wanted it there in the first place.

Now you say that it's also an insult for the US not build you a shield.

Apparently you have a comprehension issue so i'll keep it simple.

1. It was an insult for you to try and build a shield here while making Poland pay for it.
2. It was an insult for you to back out over Polands head in such a way.

You dont come to someone going "hey we want to build this house on your land but we want you to pay for it and we wont give you anything for that either." (because one battery of Patriots is a joke by any standard)

The guy agrees because he's your guillible friend, he antagonizes his neighbours who dont want to see that house built and then you go to these neighbours and agree not to built the house on your guillible friends land.

The result is that your friend feels f*cked by you because he first agreed to make such concessions just because you wanted him to and is left with neighbours who dont like him because of your actions.

Simple enough?

Of course our Polish goverment is also to blaim since they're a bunch of political asskissing wh0res but the point stands, we need to keep away from US like it was a pile of steaming dung, which from Polish pov it slowly becomes.

Honestly, if you hate America so much, why do you still hold on to your US Passport?

I dont hate America, i hate its policies toward Poland, as for the country itself i'm just unimpressed with it, as for passport, i got a lot of family over there and thats about the only reason why i went there or kept the passport.

Just because you need a visa you feel like a begger.

I dont need a visa i hold a dual Polish/American citizenship, i feel Polish though i live in Poland and hopefully always will, i do however feel that after all the support USA received from Poland they owe us even symbolic concessions, i do not feel like a beggar i feel humiliated that my goverment is unable to stand its ground against an arrogant nation of rednecks who spit in our face despite the support given to them.

Why do the Poles feel like they have to be bigger and better than everyone else?

Because when you really needed political support for Iraq Polands voice was what salvaged your position in Europe, otherwise Europe would stand negative as a single block and it could lead to deep division between US and EU, if it happens again its doubtfull you will receive any support whatsoever, Poles are currently dissilusioned with US.

Why you trying to come here anyway?

I dont, i earn more than most middle class yanks here at home and most Poles dont feel like moving to US anyway, US never presented statistics because it holds none, it feels more and more like baseless prejudice by a bunch of rednecks you are rather than serious objections.

's what America is to Poland, MONEY.

Let me educate you since we both have different opinion and you being a bloody idiot have a misguided one.

America was to Poland for a very long time a certain ideal, welfare, liberty and freedom, it was denied to us since our partitions because We were in the middle of Europe but You living on your island could do it, thats what America was to most of us, an ideal.

Of course then we woke up to the reality of you being cynical greedy rednecks who dont give a crap and only our goverment remains kissing your arse but even that wont last since people are (and rightly so) less and less pro American.

Poles give a bad image in America by walking around drunk, stealing and lying and act like they are better because they came to America.

I cant really comment on that in any other way then you being a prejudice cvnt and full of sh*t like a public toilet during the Rolling Stones concert.

Poles are some of the oldest and hardest working minorities in US, before Greenpoint got overrun by colored monkeys that you love so much it was one of the tidiest city districts, i've been to US more times then i was to Germany and i live 80miles from the border and i never saw a drunk Pole.

I've seen fat Americans, people who dont know how many states their country had, i've seen a lot of things that made me enjoy Poland and realise the "american dream" got squashed by fat butts of your overweight uneducated kids who live like animals in what passes for subburbs in your goddamn human hives so take your prejudice and arrogance and shove it up your lardass rectum sister.

here is BO speech.. you tell if he said it's scrapped:

He did, thats as close as you get in diplomatic language.

While its good that we didnt bend over at this point we should immidiately withdraw from Irak and Afghanistan and at a later date place a visa duty on US citizens coming to Poland.

First Poles were complaining they don't want a missile built, acting tough,

We did not want the shield, our goverment enforced it on us but we also didnt want to be treated like trash by US.

they freak out claiming the US won't protect them from Russia.

We freak out because you treat us like a beggar without dignity and guess what? We have some.

Personally i think its time to sever our "alliance" with US and retain only purely businesslike relationship and ties with NATO, US is clearly f*cking with us.

They never will because 1/2 the Poles never return home when there supposed too

Interesting fact, US doesnt keep statistics on Poles who stay illegaly.

Question, are you one of those dirty kunts who after staying for some time in US try to be more american then the founding fathers? Your nickname sounds Polish.

History / What would Europe look like with Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian Commonwealth today [209]

You keep calling Ukrainians as Ruthenians even both names existed that ancient time and meant the same. Why?

They did not, Rusini, Ruthenians, Kozacy but not Ukrainians, its a relatively new name and a national concept behind it is even more recent.

To be specific Ukrainians as a national concept first appear in isolated cases as early as 17th century but the concept is not grasped by any major group untill late 18th century, before that they referred to themselves as Rusini and to the general region of today Belarus and Ukraine as "Ruś".

Yes, and it happened in some 100+ years after Ukraine signed the treaty with Moscow czar.

The destruction of Sicz Zaporoska happened 47 years later but economic and political opression started as soon as 20 years afterwards.

News / Gazeta Wyborcza: US Backing Off Polish Missile Bases [40]

Absolutely, i never said i'm not a cynical bastard though, we're learning from Old Europe no less! :)

There was an article in the newspaper this morning that the Germans are planning to move out.

Germans could afford it if they wanted, they have four times our military budget and a modern army so they dont have to spend cash replacing old crap, we can not afford to be there especially since Taliban fighters are not a threat to anyone but local goats and women (in this order), i'm not buying into some Ali Raghead for whom toilet paper is a pinnacle of civilization suddenly coming to Poland and setting of a dirty nuke in Warsaw metro.

I'm still amazed as to why we're staying there? Pulling out of Afganistan and Iraq would not only be a nod to Western Europes sentiments (specifically Germany) but also send US an audible "f*ck you" which might actually get us visas and long term US could start treating us seriously.

News / Gazeta Wyborcza: US Backing Off Polish Missile Bases [40]

"Wyślemy do Afganistanu kolejnych 17 Rosomaków, a także helikoptery Mi17 i Mi-24 – powiedział w Polsat News Stanisław Komorowski."

17 excessively modern and expensive IFVs and choppers that are too old and not fitting to serve in such a climate.

Our uber expensive combat vehicles will get damaged or destroyed and our choppers will break down without enemy help, we're going to have to replace them from our own budget (already tight) and still get a finger from US for that.

We should just pull out, we're going to spend 1/10th of our total military budget on enlarging and re-equipping a contingent thats 1/100th of our entire armed force, what the fock?

Poland got alot of flak from "'old" Europe for being so steadfastly pro-Bush.

Old Europe can collectively kiss our asses, when they didnt try to kill/partition us they fecked us politically with a rough stick, i'm against looking for allies in US mainly because US is not willing to be our ally but if we could find a reliable strong ally outside of old Europe most of us would **** on said Europe with a warm stream of liquifed organic waste.

Try to f*ck someone for 300 years and then bytch that he doesnt trust you.

News / WAŁĘSA TO AGITATE FOR LISBON IN EIRE [19]

Poland was broke and needed money, right... :)

Wrong but like i said you're here to spread the word so knock yourself out, i'm not on a mission to shoot down every troll or idiot who posts, freedom of speech and all that.

Well, let's change the name European Union into "Polish Union" then. I'm astonished BTW that you call Poland an eastern European country. I thought that's a no-no.

Geographically we're a central country but geopolitically we're an Eastern one, the rest of your argument was? Oh right you had none, cretin.

News / WAŁĘSA TO AGITATE FOR LISBON IN EIRE [19]

Is that a joke? By whom? Maybe by your own people.

By the economic reality of the situation.

Poland has far too many votes considering how many citizens the country has and how weak its economy still is.

Poland has far too few votes considering its crucial position among the Eastern European states and the fact that it appears to be the only EU state grasping the true niuances of Russias politics.

News / WAŁĘSA TO AGITATE FOR LISBON IN EIRE [19]

You make it sound like PL didn't want to join, but that the EU forced her to do so.

Poles werent initially all that pro European and yes we were forced to join (that is not to say we didnt want in but we werent all whoop about it as well).

The EU has brought many advantages for Poland.

Absolutely and i would be OK with the Lisbon treaty but Germany France and UK have proven that they (as historically) do not understand Russia so we need to hog more power so we can stop the West from f*cking up again and we'd be the first ones to feel the results too.

History / What would Europe look like with Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian Commonwealth today [209]

Thoose scums? NEVER!

Sarcasm aside untill 15th century Poland was the most liberal and progressive state as far as social classes, all it took was for a strong ruler or two to hold out the years of noble pressure, if that would happen and it could Poland would be well on its way to becoming a premiere European superpower.

Pissing on peasants delayed the creation of citizen society in the full meaning of the word, in result efficiency went down across the board, economy, politics, military and internal affairs all suffered.

Life / Could I live on 2000zl in Poland? [30]

5000zl? For 5000 zl you can live up to a standard of a well earning Western European, its not reasonably well, if you're single its a luxurious life where you can spend without much worry.

If his internet site gives him 2000zl and he takes up a job for 1500-2000zl he's set for an easy cruise.

Life / Could I live on 2000zl in Poland? [30]

no chance, you need at least a grand a month to live reasonably well and rent a decent flat.

For 1000 pounds you can live without a worry in the world, 400 pounds is all it takes to live "reasonably comfortably".

Of course it depends on your definition of reasonable comfort:)

Life / Could I live on 2000zl in Poland? [30]

My question is could I survive on that kind of money? I would like to rent a small 1 bed flat and preferably live in a city.

less than 2000 zl per month in bigger cities like Wrocław etc.

I managed for much less:

Rent with all bills except phone - 550zl.
Food - eating at a milk bar (they're still present in larger cities you just need to know where) about 100zl a month.
My own food (yeah thats when i learned how to cook) cheap stuff like maccaroni, pierogi etc about 200zl.

So thats food and bills for 850 (and i was eating good) earning 1300 zl i still had 450zl to take a date somewhere, an odd beer, pizza etc.

Its completely possible to live relatively comfortably for 2000zl a month and in fact most single people who earn that much dont complain, you will need practice though and you wont be able to pull it off for first weeks since you need to find out cheap eateries, learn to cook polish dishes (which can be very cheap but still very good) etc.

News / What needs to happen in the world so that Poland and Russia form alliance? [297]

Too many old scores that have been dragged in with the admission of the Eastern states.

M-G i can't shake the feeling that you were and still are against admitting eastern Europe to EU.

feel that she is not alone,

Serbia is naturally alone at this point in history, no one has a particular interest in supporting or working against her, because they're such a sidetrack state though they were used as a muscle show against Russia, thats the only reason they lost Kosovo.

I think it's best for Serbia to simply join in

Is it best for Europe to admit Serbia?

I regard Serbia as kinda advanced,

Yes you also regarded Polish independence as given by the West despite Poles winning it themselves, there's a lot you assume or regard isnt there? Serbia is definitely well preserved but as far as advancements the only ones they beat are banana states like Belarus or Ukraine.

she should be able to adhere fully and completely and become a (respected) member of the European community.

And draw us into the whole Balkan mess which historically has an explosive nature to it, nice.

should be friends.

Are you f*cking nuts? Russia wants to subdue Poland which equals humiliation, economic drainage and eventually maybe even loss of sovereignty.

As far as Russia is concrerned first and foremost we should be carefull, becoming friends means different things in our and Russian vocabularies.

blood bonds us

Bullsh*t, we've been waging wars with one another for the last 500 years, murdering, impaling, executing, i cant really see much basis for "blood bond".

I'm a Slav, they're Slavs and thats all we're, dont attach some romantic nonsense when reality is so different.

History / Saturator in polish history [6]

What's the "saturator" in polish politics/history??

Kasiu saturator was a machine for creating Soda, it basically filled water with gas, sometimes they added juice or stuff, in times when Poland was really poor and there wasnt many treats out there people sold this on the streets the way kids in US sell lemonade.

I dont really think it ever entered the politics, though given our current government i'd ceirtanly vote it for president :)))

and i was as pleasant as one could

As pleasant as on this forum?

How could you know what happens to a Pole in Germany

Because i'm a Pole and i've been in Germany more than 10 times now given that i live next to the border?

Apart from two incidents with policemen who were aparently pissant about my nationality i never experienced anything but hospitality and politeness so while there's some bad nuts Germany overall is a positive experience.

Given your other posts treating on nationalities i say you're full of it, even if you're not the hysterical way you're approaching this problem is almost as if they raped your parents with a butt end of a nazi flag pole the moment they saw their passports, chill out.

History / What would Europe look like with Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian Commonwealth today [209]

any chance commonwealth would morph into ,miendzy morze, with peacefull confederation of countries from east, west, north and south?

If Polish nobility got around the idea that peasants are people too, yes.

Not if these people are British, German, French or other EU citizens - that's the problem.

We can always impose ethnicity/religion unfriendly procedures anyway, if we cant kick them out we can always discourage them, proclaiming Catholicism a national religion and banning their headgear and some more offensive customs would be one way, Europe thinks of us as Catholic hardcores anyway so there would be international recognition without much fuss.

What I meant is that Germans have the experience to be a front state.

So? You claimed that EU doesnt need Eastern States, i gave you at least two very good reasons, transit and strategic location, there's also economic exchange and potentialy US or Russia becoming their pimp.

I told you you are in the EU now... :)

And that means we're supposed to bend over whenever asked? I know we're not the largest of the wealthiest country in Europe but thank god we're also not the stupidest one.

You have no choice.

What do you mean i have no choice? I'm a citizen i pay taxes, if i want to raise hell i'm entitled to whether i'll be succesfull or not is another matter.

If there's ever open talks about letting in Muslims i'll f*ck political correctness with a rough stick and start an awareness campaign on what a focking dump these people create wherever they go.

They can live and work where they want.

Want a bet? There's enough ways we can procedurally make it hard for them to come here without aggravating other EU countries.

welcome to the European Union.

European Union, give me a German, British or any other European any time, we've had loads of them in the past without problems, i just dont want muslims.

West Germany was a frontier state for a long time after WW2, remember?

Because they had no choice, the moment they could they transferred this role to Poland and if our politicians had some brain they'd do it with Ukraine.

Poland is part of the EU now. You don't mind if the Germans send you a few million Turkish people over, do you?

I mind, a lot. I've been to Germany as a tourist its a beatifull country and you can tell where Turks are living by contrast. If Germans want to do that to themselves its their business i'm not going to have my country become a dump after it actually recovered from being one.
