USA, Canada / VISA TRAVEL TO USA [32]

Not really, since they have a lot of Poles that over-stay their visas

Shelley, maybe. I'm just thinking... there're about 1mln of Ukranians in the US, many of them I believe have some problems with visa and they are not interviewed in the US embassy in Moscow and getting visa for 5 years.

This would be for a business trip to go there.

Unless he has a green card, he shouldn't say he's planning to work in the US.

News / Abkhazia and South Ossetia are independent states now! Poland reaction? [236]

So far we've had two parrots who harp on their mantras ignoring others points. It's Georgian and Celinski. You're the third. Congrats! :)

Does enybody here believes that Abkhazia and South Ossetia are independent states? Does anybody in the world believes that this is "the theory of states' formation in the international law..."

Does anybody here believe that Georgia is an independent country?

Mr. Medvedev the mindless president of Russia commented during the joint press conference with president Sarkozi?

Meanwhile Sabakashvilli mindfully chewed his tie on BBC.

This is true and the sad part is the innocent victim's that once more have lost loved ones due to Russia's quest to own the world.

What a nice couple?! How sweet! :)))

USA, Canada / VISA TRAVEL TO USA [32]

My other Polish friends has just said that he stands no chance unless he has got loads of money - anyone know anything about the situation??

Tell him to talk a lot on the interview about how he loves his polish job, family, gf who lives in Poland (it's not bad to say they're going to get married), how he loves his country and how peaceful he is. That should work...

I've got american visas for three times already. Take into consideration that I'm Russian also... For Ukranians, Georgians as for the regions of the US influence there're no problems at all... just show them your passport. I believe same should be for Poles.

History / Question of Race Hygiene in Third RP [72]

before the very first russian left the cave. we say in Poland: Don't talk with stupid because first he will bring you down to his level and than he will defeat you with his expirience

Ok.. you persuaded me. I won't talk to you any more.

SeanBM

Sean, Constantine's post is a banter from the very first word till the last one. As you might notice he called {Russians} "mongolized half-blooded nation" which is widely used by Polish chauvinists. This thread served to reveal them and their double standards.

Costia even though he's a permanent provocator much smarter than mccoy-like people who are still in caves.

News / Lavrov Visit: Warsaw Bracing Itself for a Firm Talk [28]

US was not the one that went into Georgia to assure "Peace" as peace keepers do

It was the one who gave a permission to the puppet Georgian regime to attack SO.

If you did not want conflict why did your military attack on such a large scale?

Don't pretend you can't understand things that is studied in first grade (seven years old) in Russia. Poti was the town where "Grad" missile system located, thus they had to take it under control.

Protection of the people from Russian's threats.

Spambot... oops... I mean Carol, which way? When have you been outside last time? There're lots of things you don't know.
Long story short once again... just read... Can you read btw? That does not protect Poland from Russian hypothetical thread. If Russia wanted to erase Poland with their missile, those anti-rockets would not any help Poland. Clear?

Stop thinking Russia can just take what Russia wants and respect others rights.

You've mixed things up. That's a basical american way of thinking. :))))))))))
We didn't want that conflict. The US did.

Tell that to Georgia.

You're funny, Carol! Are you alright? To whom? Tell that to agression? To the country who struck sleeping city with UNGUIDED missiles?????

News / Lavrov Visit: Warsaw Bracing Itself for a Firm Talk [28]

Russians are playing the old game ....

Russia has changed for several times since the "old game ages". You Poles in terms of attitude towards Russia and Russians stayed the same forcing by your government. Russian agression as well as Russian threat is just a nice fairy-tale to distract your attention from the real troubles of your country from the treason.

Stop supporting Georgia

That's it. Stop here. Don't read anything that's not in there, don't be paranoid. It's a common sense.

Then we'll swallow the anti-missile shield and admit you to business with us as one of the 'old Europe' countries

As for your missile shield I explained here for several times as an engineer that this shield is a simple sell out, betrayal of your people (by your goverment). It's of none safety for your country but jeopardize you very much.

Russians suggested locating missile shield (and that was a friendly step towards Poland... unfriendly only for your government since they got a bribe for that) and using radar system in Gabala (Azerbajdzhan). The US refused.

History / Russia tells teachers to lie to students about "Katyn" [139]

Carol, I'm a bit tired of our one-sided dialogues when I'm stating the points, you simply ignore them, pull out of my text couple phrases and state your question.

We have a verbal game in Russia... it's called "yevrey" or "zhid" (jew) by their manner of speaking: the sense is not to answer the question but to bring up your own instead. For instance:

- What're you doing right now?
- And how about you?
- Why are you asking?
- Why are you interested in that I'm asking you?
.... etc.
Do you wanna play the game? Open new thread then...

Anyway...

Sasha:
The more I read people like you, the less I loathe putin

And this is a good thing for Russia?

Good thing what? How this boils down to my statement?

Sooner or later you must conclude that in order to play on the play ground with all nations you must behave.

...we must behave in the manner of other nations? in the manner of the US? So... we're getting closer and closer to the way you play. We don't go on the world's terror yet though...

Just maybe Putin is not doing the right thing for the Russian people?

He's not doing right thing for russian people of course, but your government's doing worse thing for american (which is more or less fine as long as it's only americans who suffer) and for people all over the world.

As for the links... there're plenty of them. You only need a will to look for them. Don't be lazybones. So help you google... or maybe Joe can explain to you what the US is. Take off the blinders.

History / Russia tells teachers to lie to students about "Katyn" [139]

Carol, I don't know about Poland and the US but in Russia it's considered mauvais genre (bad form) to admonish others whilst your own face is in a trough. The US have bulsh!tted their youth for ages. It's impossible to learn anything new about what's happening in the World watching american newsblocks and reading their history books. Polish government simply sold their own nation. Why can't "putiashka" do it then?

-was quoted as saying that "our goal is to make the first textbook in which Russian history will look not as a depressing sequence of misfortunes and mistakes but as something to instill pride in one's country. It is in precisely this way that teachers must teach history and not smear the Motherland with mud."

They just follow the US policy.
Remember one simple thing every government every generation write the history the way they want. It's well-known and it's more or less like that everywhere... to say nothing about the US. The US is an empire... they have always lied to people, otherwise they would have fallen apart a long ago. American "patriotism" is a garbage by 90% as well as Russian... maybe ours is by 50% (since we're not that experinced in brainwashing).

"As to some problematic pages in our history--yes, we've had them. But what state hasn't? And we've had fewer of such pages than some other [states]. And ours were not as horrible as those of some others. Yes, we have had some terrible pages: let us remember the events beginning in 1937, let us not forget about them. But other countries have had no less, and even more. In any case, we did not pour chemicals over thousands of kilometers or drop on a small country seven times more bombs than during the entire World War II, as it was in Vietnam, for instance. Nor did we have other black pages, such as Nazism, for instance. All sorts of things happen in the history of every state. And we cannot allow ourselves to be saddled with guilt--they'd better think of themselves."

How about that thought, Carol? You don't like it?

As for putin's calculations. Nothing's wrong with them. Don't worry, children and people know everything and will never forget that's mentioned apart from the ways of execution. You better worry about your country where people have remained blind for many years and I suspect will never learn the truth. Typical american is lack of an opportunity to get some new info.

The article is stinky, nothing more and the fact are tirer un texte. I strongly sympathize you if that kind of sh!t-arcticles you're gathering in web strokes your ego. You should understand Russophobia is an illness. So... get better.

As Russian wits like to say, "sovereign democracy" and "democracy" are as different as "electric chair" and "chair."

This I like. Never seen in English.

Excellant article on education and what is taught in Russia.

If you like some article, that doesn't necessarily mean it's worthy and excellent.

P.S. The more I read people like you, the less I loathe putin. That worries me... In comparison to western media and their statements, ours sometimes seems to be the bulwark of democracy.

News / Venezuela is voted happiest place to live ,Poland? [33]

1. Are polish people rude?

Some are, some are not. Just like anybody else.

2. Do Polish smile often?

See above

3. Are Polish people less compasionate?

Towards others I don't know, towards themselves they are compassionate.

4. Are polish people forgiving?

Net. Well... I don't know yet if this unforgiveness, government's policy, or kinda fashion.

6. Do you feel honesty and trust when meeting them?

I've seen few Poles in my life, thus can't say anything.

Polonia / anyone been to St Petersburg? [51]

First and foremost the way I feel is strongly determined by my surroundings, people around me, my friends. Expressing my view on Moscow I only meant that was not the best place to live at discounting friends I have here.

News / Anti-missiles in Poland only 5km from the city [3]

When Poland was a slave member of the Warsaw Pact

You're still slaves of another pact. Your government is a slave-trader, the US is a slave-holder. As simple as that.

I guess it is right. :) In a certain way staying in the US in comparison to Moscow makes me feel like "back in the USSR" when everything was very cheap.

Polonia / anyone been to St Petersburg? [51]

I've already been to Moscow. I didn't manage to 'feel the difference' though because I spent only a couple of days there.

Moscow as a financial center of Russia with considerably higher salaries has much more immigrants from the former USSR and from other Russian cities thus you don't always feel good being the part of all this crowd. It's definitely not a peace&quiet place. I can't say I belong in Moscow. :)

Polonia / anyone been to St Petersburg? [51]

Are you from St. Petersburg, Sasha?

Nope I'm 650 km to the East, i.e. from Moscow. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your staying there. Next time we're wainting for you in Moscow to feel the difference (I hope not in terms of people's politness)... Pics are very nice. Did you manage to see "belie nochi" (so-called "white nights")?

I think Russia is a place i would love to visit, however i've heard it is expensive and really hard to get a Permit to enter the country.

Torny, from what I heard at least for Americans it's not a problem to get Russian visa. I suspect same is for the Great Britain (am I right that you're from the GB?)

History / Russia tells teachers to lie to students about "Katyn" [139]

I have to question how it affects Russian children if/when they read articles about the lies in their text books?

You better worry about Polish kids being bullsh!tted since childhood (well... you don't have to worry as you live in the US and from what I learnt about you don't give a sh!t about Poles). As for Russians I would say recent generations don't have any delusion on Stalin's personality. There're lots of programs on Russian TV that debunk myths on his "heroism".

News / Apology to Russians for Osetia and American missile base [78]

problem is when you are forced to learn Russian since little kid while any other foreign languages - especially english - were deliberately neglected.

How do you imagine in the modern world (not 30 years ago) that you're deliberately forced to learn anything? Besides it's good to know that nowadays there're lots of stuff that you pick subconciously having a strong belief in that you really need it. As for English... what would be your career opportunities like now with no second language (read "english")? Isn't it kinda force? Although nobody dabs AK47 in your back... ;) they merely say "study language or linger out your life".

because if not them you'd probably speak Russian today instead of English

Since his native tongue is German, your statement shows only your personal preference to be f@cked up by Anglo-Saxons (it's better to specify americans) rather than by fraternal Russians. Well... jedem das seine.

Good to notice as well... speaking Russian is not a problem but just another ability that represent you as a well-educated man. However russophobia is a problem. ;)

News / Abkhazia and South Ossetia are independent states now! Poland reaction? [236]

You even don't hide your pro-Russian bias.

What is it if not double standards. If let's say Pole likes Russia (s)he's pro-Russian and biased but if (s)he likes the US, then (s)he's just another fine Pole.

You clearly accept double standards.

I've explained for couple times the difference between these two cases. Anyway I don't support neither of them to be independent.

News / Apology to Russians for Osetia and American missile base [78]

I am truly ashamed of my puppet government and a kartofel president that is obviously out of his mind. Majority of Poles DO NOT WANT AN AMERICAN MISSLE BASE IN THEIR COUNTRY. We are also far away from judging who is responsible for a military conflict in Osetia. The current Polish government is used by Americans to destabilize our region without giving any regard to native poles that live in this country. A common Pole does not view America as a friendly nation. A common American in return cant show Poland on the map of the world. Sad part is the common citizen will later pay for its irresponsible government.

Juliet, no appologies and thank you for your soberness and kindness!

as the voice of the whole nation

Thankfully you're not, otherwise Poland would be already wiped off the face of the Earth.

I find your trying to insult the education of US rather odd

It's odd only for those who have never been to the US. Btw you're a visual evidence for that.

You are speaking for a nation and why off track.

Why not to tell that to Mr. McCoy. I see... double standards...
