News / What you think about the Polish President, Kaczynski? [53]

Our system (European) prevent competent people from holding political posts. They stay out of politics and concentrate on business activity. This is sad true that only populists can successfully compete in elections, you cannot skip this barrier...

I like Tusk for being so normal. A boy from the neighbourhood.

Heartbreaking...

News / Polish Parliament Backs Pension Reform, Overturns Veto [9]

PiS as every other opposition in parliamentary system oppose nearly all projects created by the government. This is typical and disgusting.

However I must write that I'm surprised by your statement. PiS nearly always offer socialistic demagogy while I remember your lamenting that Polish parties aren't leftist enough...

As a free market supporter I need to write that this was a mistake to grant such early pensions to people. However if state made a deal with those people, they should keep their word. Otherwise this state is not worth of any trust (this is actually the case). Your attitude gives green light to every further government to unilaterally break deals with citizens without any compensation. Perhaps tomorrow corrupt government will decide that YOU don't deserve your pension or tell you to work few years more. You never know.

News / EU constitution: 'Strong show' for Irish No vote ? [126]

EU democracy

Ahh! Oxymoron :)

I have just heard on the news that Ireland will be holding a second referendum for the Lisbon treaty next year, they are expecting a YES vote this time.

How would you comment attitude of Mr Ireland (known as ' Mr Crowley' in some circles)? Read carefully.
indymedia.ie/article/90105

I feel that talk about a second vote has been timed very well by our sneeky governement.....

I have a bad news for you, this talk was not timed by Irish government. They just realize orders from Brussels.

Yesterday, 08:28 Report #100

I work in Local Government and I am sooooo p*ssed off!!! Civil Servants (hate that word) are used as an excuse for almost everything and now it seems we are the biggest issue when it comes to Governement Spending.... I have been verbally abused by so many members of the public, who seem to think it is their given right to say whatever they like because I am employed by the Government..... yes my job is secure but my working life is far from perfect!

If you start new thread and post this, I could help you to understand this issue. I don't want to steal nice EU bashing thread.

News / POLISH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES in the 2010 election? [10]

My choice is a professional carrier. Beside of that I'm not a populist, thus my chances to win such elections (even if I would have access to mainstream media) would be close to zero.

News / POLISH PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES in the 2010 election? [10]

All of them are incompetent and don't deserve a single vote. Beside of that why would they candidate in Polish elections if their loyalty is in Brussels? Lets them try to become president of the European Commission!

News / What did Poland get out of the wars and struggles for others? [1108]

By Patrick Joseph Buchanan who was a senior advisor to American presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Fox, and Ronald Reagan.

I'm surprised that Buchanan who stand for military isolationism admits that FDR indeed betrayed Poland.

History / Poles nation on the wheels...? [16]

You practically exposed your weakness. I can say about some certain actions being profitable or otherwise. While you write about "not profitable" mentality that you apparently have. I don't care what is your nationality.

News / Helena Wolinska dead [90]

Soviet system bankrupted, thus the SU collapsed. While perestroika itself was a mystification intended to cheat the west, read "Abrechnung mit Moskau. Das sowjetische Unrechtsregime und die Schuld des Westens. " by Vlad Bukovsky.

Skilled or unskilled workers, anybody who is willing to work, such attitude deserve a respect. Those whom are doing everything to don't work, those whom strike over and over protected by powerful unions, they should be ashamed! In every country you find both groups of people, today such travels are profitable for Polish people (among others) and some of them take this opportunity.

History / Poles nation on the wheels...? [16]

As we see the Polish Government was dependent on the food aid from states

Americans sometimes don't feel the situation in other continents. Look at Iraq.

The point is that people don't care how much food government posed. They do care to have enough of food themselves. While certainly they don't count on government on these matters.

Also vodka and sweets are hardly necessary to survive. Average Soviet citizen could not get as much as he wanted as well, if anything at all. When you talk about food, I think rather about more popular products.

Your link tell as about communist party members travelling to SU, sorry but they are not representative for Polish society. They were privileged, they could travel and they had proper connections to trade.

History / Poles nation on the wheels...? [16]

Polish farmers had have enough of food but they were unwilling to hand it to thieving government. There was famous case when Polish government asked their Soviets socialist brothers about 30 tones (?) of meat. Soviets struggled to find so much (or rather so little) and finally failed although I'm not 100% sure. Management of Soviet collective farms often cheated government about their supposed efficiency (to reach some standard, otherwise they would be punished) and thus they had a lot of food on paper only.

News / Polish culture would collapse if Ministry of Culture would be abolished? [14]

Most of that stuff supported by the Ministry is boring.

In my city, for example, there's a lot of theatres, but only amateur or student theatres make some interesting shows. The ones supported by the ministry are... not very appealing.

What is boring is a question of taste. However there is serious lack of sense in this system. Ignorant bureaucrats are generally unable to chose something worth support, this is not only about culture. Let look at science, how on earth bureaucrats could make right decision about what project is worth support if they have absolutely no idea about the subject? What is more, their small minds cannot even imagine what project have really crucial importance, while their choice is based on some criteria set by apparatus. Thus you can be nearly 100% sure that really impofrtant projects wont win their support.

The Ministry just promote what they want to. Let the people decide what they value.

True.

They are responsible in Poland for coordinating intellectual property law

That is interesting, you claim that Polish intellectual property law needs to be permanently coordinated by bureaucrats? Please write more about their effort in this field...

have introduced a lot of IPR legislation to make Poland compliant with rest of EU.

Bureaucrats establishing laws to make everything to look the same elsewhere? This is hardly surprising, this is nature of socialism after all. I'm not grateful, I'm upset!

This has made conditions in Poland much better for artists, writers, songwriters, musicians, etc.

Even if (although I doubt), I'm hardly interested in their work, why should they take taxpayers money? Let those taxpayers who support this idea tax themselves and then I wont protest. I don't see why some group of people should be favoured over others.

News / FORWARD POLAND -- new polticial party [6]

Another marginal bunch of nutters

Perhaps. However I doubt whether you can back this claim with some reasonable argument. I doubt whether you even know whom they are. Apparently this is the way how political debate is run in a democratic state like III RP. Media are available to the chosen and mainstream forces can afford only personal attacks toward their marginal opponents (if anything!). Why to provide any arguments, stupid masses wont understand anyway.

News / EU Hypocrisy Regarding Polish Shipyards [30]

While I have no problem with you spending your money, I have no idea why do you want spend my money or other taxpayers?

News / EU Hypocrisy Regarding Polish Shipyards [30]

This sounds like hypocrisy.

This is hypocrisy. Here you have a situation where politicians and bureaucrats have too many competences. If we would strip them from these competences, all badly managed companies would bankrupt, while other which would be better managed would replace them on the market.

e are sick and tired of our "ordinary" men and women losing their jobs and then their homes. Our government keeps telling us that there are jobs out there. Where we keep asking are these jobs?

I see that you are from the UK. Although I definitely oppose the EU, I see that a lot of migrant workers from Eastern Europe have no problems to find a job in your country.

Large football clubs, business consortiums, wealthy celebrities and they all avoid paying their tax. Why does the Inland Revenue never call in these types of debts?

This is because socialism which rule in Europe is a favorite system of big business. Why would big business compete on the free market if they have enough of cash to bribe few politicians and bureaucrats whom have so much to say. Smaller companies cannot afford such policy and thus they are bombarded by insane regulations either from Warsaw, London or Brussels. Big concerns wont allow socialism to be removed easily because then they would lose their comfort of being privileged.

I support EU in this decision we spend 15 bilions zlotys on help for them and they haven't changed annything. Now we are going to spend it on hi-tech or univerisites. EU supports Polish tax payer.

So you want to give money to other companies?

While I agree with Mazza that university produce "products" of doubtful quality and usefulness on mass scale.

History / The Reformation in the Baltic - Denmark, Poland, Sweden [13]

We avoided this wars. What is more ... most of this "heretics" were right.

They had some good observations, however in general they were fanatics and Calvin is the best example!

What kind of Pole are you?

A Catholic.

These sects were kicked out from other countries mostly because they were in opposition to rule of local monarch. Thus this is rather destabilizing factor.

We had even our "Iraq" Like americans who try to establish democracy there... We tried to make republic from Russia (our troops have been to moscov).

Do you really believe what you write? Neither Americans care about democracy in Iraq or Polish army had good intentions when invaded Russia. They got what deserved.

News / Polish Japanese relations (history and present time) [90]

Dmowski and Pilsudski went to Japan separately in 1904. The latter planned to start anti-Russian uprising in Poland and wanted to convince Japanese to attack Russian Empire from other side in the same time. While Dmowski, who was always opposed to needless blood spoiled during such events which could not be successful, wanted to prevent this to happen. They even met each other in Tokyo but could not agree. Finally option pushed by Dmowski won.

Later in 1919 Japan recognized Poland, Japanese ambassador in Paris informed Dmowski ( who was leading Polish National Committee in France) about this decision.

History / Sarmatia Europe - Could it be political reality? [183]

No it's not! It just proves that most people are quite happy about how things are.

I guess the Turks say the same about Bosnian people being happy with their statehood. Could you imagine bigger hypocrisy? :)

About Kosovo, maybe you can offer a solution which DOESN'T is about ethnic cleansing and expellation of 98 percent of the population?

I guess this percent of the Serbs that were ethnically cleansed from Kosovo. But we don't see misbehavior of so called "our bastards"?

Of course, but in the end they made it...I don't see why we shouldn't!

They made what? They clearly going in wrong direction, towards socialism. While starting position of the EU is already socialist. With such attitude I don't see any bright future for the people here.

Instead of saying good by to EU you should help to make it better...

There is no possibility for me to work in the public field in this system. While later I have no intention to sacrifice my life in wars provoked by socialists, neither those nationally and internationally minded. I will let others this undoubted privilege to fight for "socialism, democracy and equality". :)

Well..you are here debating freely!

How many people read this debate? TV is source of mass indoctrination. There is no chance for people with my views to be regularly invited to debate serious issues. If they would allow such people, their politician would have hell of problems to defend their positions.

And I don't think the internet will ever leave us again...:)

Please remind me the name of this German government official who admitted in Bundestag that they already invigilate internet even if this is in opposition to German law?

History / Sarmatia Europe - Could it be political reality? [183]

I haven't heard any wish from the new countries to reunite with "greater Serbia" again lately, did you?

This is different issue. While I'm sure that Serbian part of Bosnia would love to rejoin Serbia. However because they are not the puppets of the EU then they wont be offered even Kosovo scenario. These are absolutely obvious double standards that you cannot deny. Or maybe you can?

Well..the US manages on an even higher level than the EU currently...and they do quite well...so what...

The US was created in completely different way. Slow process lead them to current status quo. (Also I don't support what Lincoln did) The EU with this speed of developments will be fascist soon, like it or not :) Unlike your suggestion I'm very calm observer, when sh*t begin for good I will simply say goodbye to the EU. Although I think that this is rather our children or even grandchildren will have to deal with consequences of current politics.

At least I keep my conspiracy paranoia in check! :)

I have notice that those blinded by the EU have heavy problems when they discuss with EU-sceptics whom clearly reject nationalism. Apparently spin doctors in Brussels think that small group of people like myself will be eliminated by lack of opportunity to debate publicly.

News / Polish politicians and foreign languages [27]

Here you have a sample of his amazing skills:

Please don't spin my comment. I did not write that his English is amazing. As far as Polish politicians are concentrated, he is one of the best. I would not expect more from a politician in this field, they should communicate well, that is all.

History / Sarmatia Europe - Could it be political reality? [183]

Nothing the EU invented, it was all there for centuries already.

Sure, some historic events created some differences. However the EU and the US just helped to create such outcome.

Actually you could blame ALL state governments being something of a shady dictatorship as they steal all the power from the regions...just look at Germany..we have the Länder with the gov in Berlin. I wonder why they all aren't always demonstrating for secession!!!

I'm aware of this, however if the ball moved to the higher level I must react. The EU bureaucracy is much stronger enemy than Warsaw.

I like the idea..(and we already have a nice flag and an anthem)

I hope that your understanding of politics will develop above colors and sounds :)

I cannot recall who said that every internationalist socialist regime (like the UE) will turn national socialist in the end. So, even if I don't think that they succeed, if they would then 'Jewish bankers' and 'Gypsy beggars' (two groups that nearly for sure and as usual would try to keep their heritage) should be afraid of European nationals (or European nationalists)!
