News / Should rape carry a life sentence in Poland? [146]

Nice Post Seanus. I can only assume that Mask does not know of anybody who has been through this horrendous experience. If he did he would not have come up with his remarks.

Life / Poems for Poland. [41]

Seems I'm insolently stubborn.

Fair enough. So I take it my poetry won't win you over then <grin>

Life / Poems for Poland. [41]

I've never liked poetry, actually...

Yet poetry is the window on the soul
Without such verse you cannot be whole
So before your next cup of coffee is over
Make sure you read some Keats dear Jova

News / Adult movie producers looking for 'actresses' in Poland or just a weirdo? [120]

PF girls gone wild,,,now theres a box office smash!!

Under the executive powers placed upon me by George W, V Putin and HM the Queen, I hereby appoint Sledz to be the official manager of the PF Cheerleaders. Further I appoint myself to be the choreographer, given that I have no dancing ability whatsoever but would like to attend the rehearsals.

News / US DOLLAR = 2.47 on 2 Oct 2008? [54]

Dollar is up against most currencies. Just on the rumour that the Fed are going to hike interest rates again. You get more return (assuming the institution(s) are still in business)

Travel / Ostroda to Elblag Canal Trip [6]

Maybe it was because your description of the day left us feeling that we've all been there! It's a shame the trip you were so looking forwards to was marred by their behaviour.

Travel / PLANES VERSUS TRAINS ~ WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? [32]

Just goes to show the one benefit of years of international business travel to pointless business meetings and conferences that are thinly veiled parties is still having an airline gold card that gives you access to the exec lounges. It's quite relaxing in there...

UK, Ireland / What is in Poland that England doesn't have? [142]

But most of these chain pubs- from my experience -don't have good food.

I agree with you. My local is a free house owned by a guy who wants to avoid a cardiac arrest so he only serves good but reasonably priced food. It's easy to eat badly in the UK. Mind you we don't serve lard up with the bread! I'll never forgot when I mistook it for butter

And don't tell me about pub food- awful, greasy, processed burger pies....

The food in my local is very, very good. All fresh produce and good qaulity meat. Maybe I'm just lucky

Szarlotka, where in UK are you from? If from the middle of nowhere

Yep I am.

I didn't mention buses just trains. Maybe I was lucky but the trains I caught from Warsaw to Katowice, Krakow and Lodz all ran on time. Unlike this week when it took me 4 hours to get home when we had a mad bugger with a ball bearing gun nr Rugby.

Life / Euro Lotto £100,000,000 - Can you play in poland? [7]

Can you buy tickets in Poland?

Here's a deal for you Griff. I'll pop out any buy a ticket and go 50/50 with you. If we win £50 million each, you have to stump up the cash to fly back to the UK to get your share as I am too tight fisted to go out to PL.

UK, Ireland / "Angry swan eater" - The British media view of Polish immigrants? [63]

or even talk to someone who has seen one of these strange creatures

Hmm. There was a strangely dressed gentleman down my local pub the other day attempting to interview our barmaid about her life in England compared to that back in Poland. Perhaps he was from the Daily Fail. Mindy you we're 50 miles north of London so maybe it was a local hack.

UK, Ireland / Cold and ignorant Polish girls living in the UK [128]

We will show him what a good mix group of Polish, Spanish and English can do in 5 minutes in a bar

Two pints of Guinness and a packet of cheese and onion crisps is my record.

I think the OP has confused cold with initially reserved. The lack of smiling at the drop of a hat might allude to coldness sometimes. Here's some free advice coldpole - take the time to get to know one. You'll be remarkably surprised.

News / On the verge of new and ideal world [63]

I am often joking, but if you will look close, you will see that there is something in my words different from jokes.

This much I have realised.

I was watching the golf from Russia over the weekend. Looks like good weather out in Moscow. Couldn't help but notice that the men carrying the score boards around for each group of players were all accompanied by glamourous young ladies in short white dresses. Nice touch I thought. How the players concentrated I'll never know.
