and called him cheap, yet she broke it off with him and accepted that 1200.00$

if she was real in her feelings, she would say. I cannot accept this at this time

that would be called honesty.. calling him cheap after dumping him sounds
a little off balance.. I know I wouldnt accept something that I dont rightfully
deserve if I cannot give my heart fully to a person who would spend so much
money on such elaborate gift .. matter of fact.. same situation and I gave
my ring back..

theres more to the story, she is just diverting it.. and I feel sorry to say that
this way but if you care for someone you wont take like that knowing how deep
it will hurt , especially after losing someone close to you, then pushing the
other close person away.. makes no sense..

I agree with plk,, I think she is using her grief against you.. I thought differently
in the beginning, but not now. not when she took the necklace then just
walks away leaving you hurt when you poured your heart into helping her.

I would ask her to come clean now.. dont lie, that she met someone and
is dating him.. and tell her, do you think its fair to keep something from me
when you are in the arms of someone else? do you think this means something?
It does to you but not to her.. so therefor she doesnt deserve it..

and ask her what does she mean by cheap when you were doing all you could
to make her feel better and along comes this surprise of I dont want to see
you anymore and you know there is a explaniation, and you want honesty
if anything she could give,, that would be the most you should expect..

Losing someone who is close to you is traumatic.. and I dont think her anger is
at you.. Unless of course your expecting her to be her same old self. which is
totally way off.. it is very bad to tell someone to move on.. this happens when
they are ready..

when my father died. I wanted to know what place he was going to.. where would
he be.. at some point I kinda lost my sense of reality, because when they started
to close the cement vault, I became frantic, asking how would dad get out to come home?? ( my brother then had to escort me out to the limo) and I then realized what I had said and leaving the cemetary was the final goodbye.. theres

alot of emotions still going on.. especially if it has been a long time since there
was a death in the family and if its someone so close, and shes not experienced
such a loss then her feelings are totally natural. she is hurting.. its a long healing process..if your expecting, then she maybe is picking that up .. and you wont

know how she feels till you experience the same.. she is still waiting for some
type of closure.. sometimes you just dont feel that because the funerals happen
so fast. and so many people come and its exhausting process , then you sit
and wonder if there was something you could have done to change things.. if
you had been there, maybe seen something.. would they still be alive?

I think the best thing you can do is support her, maybe buy her some roses
or even better idea, create a place for her to go to like a small garden dedicated to her father with a picture ( in some protective plastic ) or something like that

and then say,, this is where I think you should go to be at peace with your
feelings ..

sometimes when we lose someone we forget about the ones still living.. and
its not done on purpose,, your understanding is so important in her healing.

I hope things get better..

security apps if you know the soc # ( located on the death cert) or if you have
their soc sec cards of course.. you can obtain the original app they filled out.

in the 30s I dont think death certs had the soc numbers ( late 30s)
40s and 50s I believe they added that.. 60s I know they did and 70s.

debbie, you can also get social security apps.. but you have to have the soc
numbers.. sometimes the death certs dont have the parents names cause they
didnt know them.. its risky,, but they do help.

social security started in 34 but the death index is online. for the older
records you would need to do the freedom of information act. and just
tell them its for genealogy purposes..

the above is for searches..

ssa.gov/foia/html/foia_guide.htm

that is for obtaining older records ( if you have the soc # from the death certs)
if they died before 1962 they wont be in the database.. and or if the family
didnt report it..

what else would be useful to get further in research..

the records seem to be.. 1808 and up we have , prior to that what is avail
that would be of significance, because records get harder to find.. this is
what I am asking.. what should she look for that might lead to more records..

in the united states we have cencus which help us get further back, and war
