I don't understand why you insist.This case is lost for you.Germanics were western of Vistula before the Slavs came.Basically lots of land must have been empty at that time because Germanics had already emigrated in mass to west and south due to threat of Hunns.The same happened in balkans where the Hunns deserted the place and then the Slavs came in to fill the gaps.

Roman historians gave them these names(probably they could not understand what these names meant) and these names survived to us.
Slavs was a name given by byzantine historians first time in 7th century to describe tribes who called themselves like that and had just appeared in byzantine borders.

From personal observations this is true.35% of Serbs look hardcore slavic indeed.The rest is divided between mediteranean looks and slavic-mediteranean mix.(excellent combination).Most are mix in my opinion.(like high cheeks,green eyes but with mediteranean hair and mouth) in general if you see Serbs,you may think they are Poles till you listen to them.
We should not forget that before the Slavs came,some very tall people(Macedones,Thracians,Illyrians) inhabited this area and the result is the extraordinary height of Serbs and Croats.
