UK, Ireland / Are the Poles in England hated? [450]

Poles are sure hated in 'England'. At least one hates himself for not learning English more diligently, not choosing other studies, and a few things that are too personal to mention them in a public forum.

UK, Ireland / New BBC series following the lives of immigrants is looking for people [49]

I had the (un)pleasure of sharing a flat with Lithuanian (in fact Russian) couple. Pretty repulsive folks - they didn't talk to us at all (a Southern African and a Pole), never returned greetings, and were quite chauvinistic. But they moved out and a Estonian (in fact Russians, too) couple moved in, and they were very friendly. So it's up to your luck whom do you meet.

UK, Ireland / Polish teenager murdered after arriving in UK [117]

ah damn man, and i was so proud of my scottish roots, now i`m unsure...

You don't have to be unsure, there are some bad eggs amongst them (e.g. some dubious 'law students'), but Scots are cool folks.

UK, Ireland / 90,000 Scottish Immigrants in Poland! [67]

Oh good, so they're not villains :)

I'm not sure. They paint themselves blue, and that's the colour of Rangers Football Club.

UK, Ireland / Do Polish immigrants wish to stay in UK - long term? [92]

-5C and no jackets....insanity!

Just kidding you on.

But believe or not, Scots are bloody resistant to cold. You have to see it with your very eyes to believe. While I put on overcoat, hat and scarf, they run about in t-shirts :)

Love / Best Man's role at Polish Wedding. [14]

I've never been a 'best man', but I think there's not much difference there in Poland. You need to take a crash course of Polish to give your speech, though :)

Love / Best Man's role at Polish Wedding. [14]

As a proud Scot, I will be in full Highland dress - kilt and so on.

Don't be surprised if you see the press :)

UK, Ireland / Do Polish immigrants wish to stay in UK - long term? [92]

My taxi driver friend told me the same in reverse. He said that I am more Polish than Scottish now. I beg to differ but there we go

There must be an equilibrium in the nature, don't you think ?

Hahah :)

I say if you [a general you] are here and want to count yourself as Scottish [or even partly] then you are.

Well, that's the second voice pro. But the lovely Scottish accent may be a wee problem :)

UK, Ireland / iMMIGRATION: The Unspoken Truth [7]

'Jak leci'

Answers could be 'Całkiem nieźle' (pretty good), 'Fajnie' (cool), 'Super' (superb), 'Extra' (brilliant), 'Jak po maśle' (everything's just fine), too.

'Stara bida' (Same old poverty)

It can also mean 'nothing new'.

UK, Ireland / Free housing for Poles in the UK? [29]

Of course all Poles have free housing. Just pay your rent every month and you can live in your room for free for the rest of the period. Furthermore, I got myself a free car from the British Government, just had to pay several grand to the dealer, a grand to the insurer, £63 of road tax and POOF - the wee baby is all mine - FREE.
