History / World War II - a tragic story for Poland and the World [489]

When will Poles stop to whine about what happen in the past, and loook to work in future?

there is no pointing in asking that question, i have had many a discussion on here and all they seem to want to do is complain complain and complain some more, they like to be the victim and especially love playing out the role.

I wish they would look forward too, it does seem though its an older generation thing though, the young Poles i've met don't sit around a bottle of vodka, smoking talking about how bad things were 60 years + ago.

News / Does Poland count in Europe or is it ignored? [427]

ow i said that and i meant it, thats where i think he is from, either one of them or Russia. Don't get me wrong not everyone from a Balkan state is backwards, just those who still talk up the old beliefs

I mean i understand a 'mushroom party' now that is probably fun but a 'mushroom picking party' what do you do pick mushrooms while slurping on wine and telling mushroom jokes and rating the top mushrooms. Whats kool and what ain't my goodness i'm hardly able to stay on my chair because i'm laughing so much

Why is it nearly everyone of your posts is some kind of slur of those with black skin or are from Pakistan etc etc

USA, Canada / Popular US Newspaper offends Poles. [22]

ok so your nationality is defined these days by your religion, that is just great, one of the worst elements in the whole world now defines your nationality, how sad :(. Forget religion and remember the nationality!!!!

RELIGION WILL END THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT IF WE ARE NOT CAREFUL

(2001 census)

there is my point, you have missed out the last 8 years, when the EU has expanded ten fold and immigrants have been coming to the UK because of numerous conflicts, wars around the world. I'm not willing to accept numbers from over 8 years ago.

You seem to have great figures for Poland though. I was not suggesting for one second you should let nobody into your country, however there is a lot to be said for letting those in only who will benefit your country. It seems to work perfectly for Australia and New Zealand who also have very small populations.

However my original point was that the guy who you called for being xenophobic is wrong and inaccurate, he just has a different opinion from yourself.

UK, Ireland / Renewing Polish Passport in London or Manchester [18]

Same day passports, wow, i thought that was saved for people in the military, diplomats etc etc, not your run of the mill Polish citizen (no offence intended there). Same day passports are issued very rarely, it usually takes about 2 weeks and that is the fast service :)

hang on a second you liberal, how is wanting a secure immigration policy being xenophobic???? Look at what has happened to the UK in the past 30 years, we have let so many people into the UK we don't know where some of them are, who is legally here and who is here illegally, thats if we know their here in the first place :). The UK is a great example of what happens if you do not have a solid immigration system put in place. Just because you do not want to let people into your country it does not mean you fear them, it simply means you want to secure the future of your nation.

There is room for everybody.

you would make a great politician with phrases like that

Life / Foreigner in Poland asking for information how to travel to Scotland? [23]

I don't believe for a minute that they'll let you in without a hell of a fight, especially considering some of their attitudes towards their own.

you are joking right, they let and Abdul, Ski and Vic in these days. They will be fighting to get him in let alone stop him from entering!!!!.

i need to go to scotland ...

you NEED to go to Scotland, so you just don't WANT to you NEED to. There is a big difference in the two words, when you say 'i need' it is like a necessity on the other hand when you say 'i want' it is something you desire. I'm sure you have no reason for you to NEED to go to Scotland, in fact i'll bet your bottom dollar in reality its a WANT.

my card

Do you mean passport?? as you will require one of these to enter the UK, in fact you would need it to enter any country, unless your coming in the back of a lorry of course.

do i need visa to go there ??

as for whether or not you would be allowed, i assume that as you have been married to a Polish citizen and working in Poland for more than a year, you would qualify as being able to enter the UK.

History / World War II - a tragic story for Poland and the World [489]

My goodness my eyes have been suddently opened, without this thread i would never have known that a world war could have a negative effect on a country if not the world. My deepest thanks to the OP for pointing this out, i mean without it i would have had no idea at all.

There i was thinking war was good

Love / Difficult Polish girlfriend - how long would you put up with her? My story. [68]

ok you left her, you're supposedly over it, so why come and cry about it online?? just a thought...

While i do have a lot of sympothy for the OP i do have to agree slightly, well maybe more than slightly with this sentiment. If you are over it now why would you want to go on discussing it??

I'm sure you'll find yourself another wonderful lady in the not to distant future

UK, Ireland / Polish meat in English supermarkets? [73]

It's all this "chips with scraps" stuff I don't get... no wonder everyone's fat round here... eating bits of leftover batter!!!!!!111!!!1 :)

yeah i must admit i don't get the 'scraps' part either, gravy i like but scraps, nah that just means extra swimming or something!!!!

the best fish and chips round here are sold by a Pakistani/Middle-Eastern takeaway!

actually i have to disagree with you there in the main, the only people who can even attempt a decent fish and chips are the numerous Chinese takeaways, i find the Indians, Pakistani's etc etc haven't got a clue

texans love chips salt & vinegar, but here chips are not french fries... ;)

yeah when i went to america when i was young, everytime i would ask the nice lady in the hotel for chips, she would bring me crisps!!!!! I didn't say anything because then i just thought she was a 'stupid yank' but after speaking to some Americans on Holiday i soon discovered chips were 'potato chips' I.E. 'crisps'

Love / What is your opinion on the Polish Ladies in Krakow? [82]

i can't believe that you based you actions on whatever the nutheads on some forum told you...

i know its scary isn't it my dear!!!!

Krakow's women will be better off without you...

you think :)

To the original OP, haven't you already got enough women in Prague to get around, although i guess you have to pay for 60% of those women as one of the most popular jobs in Prague seems to be prostitution (Although i must add they are not usually czech girls as far as i'm aware)

UK, Ireland / Polish meat in English supermarkets? [73]

Hearing about this Polish meat spread reminds me of soemthing that happened at uni, i once helped a few of the Polish students on our course with their coursework and they both said they would bring me something back from Poland as a small thank you. Of course i said don't be stupid but two weeks later..........

One of them hands me a box of Polish chocolates, which was sweet of her really, her friend on the other hand gives me two packs of this Polish meat spread. One of them was just a plain flavour and the other had a touch of peppercorn about it.

I must say i loved the chocolates of course but the spread was also very nice, i used to spread it on bread for lunch!!!! I even asked her to get me some more when she returned to Poland again. Hearing that its in the UK now i think i'll look out for it, i can't remember the name of it though.

Love / Difficult Polish girlfriend - how long would you put up with her? My story. [68]

No one is criticising polish women here,it's a polish forum, therefore it is appropriate place to talk about this particular polish woman

my point was not just to defend Polish women on a Polish forum, i'm just commenting that a woman could do this no matter where she is from.

No one is criticising polish women here

then what is the OP doing?? if that is not being critical then i don't know what is. It may not have been written to be critical but it sure can look like it

some traits are definitely based on culture or ethnicity. i have never met am american woman with that kind of attitude. otoh, i've known plent of polish men and women that are just exactly like that.. so in conclusion.. some "generalities" are spot on.

what so there are not stuck up women in America, women who think they are above others?? come on i fail to believe that.

UK, Ireland / England, Dirty, Expensive and a dangerous place to live? [205]

Now while i don't mind my country being the centre of criticism i do have to wonder what would happen if somebody posted something similar about Warzaw or any other world capital.

I'm quite happy to see the UK recieve criticism but i'm sure it would not go down so well if it were directed at Poland for example. It seems sometimes on this forum that you can criticise what you like as long as its nothing to do with Poland or the Polish :)
