News / French and Poles [146]

I have no problems with the French - been to France for my last five holidays.

I love France...Actually, I never quite get why people think everyone hates them, or why they still hold this myth that the English hate them...its simply not true...As Ive said I have nothing but fond memories of my trips there...I'd love go to back to Marseille again, it has to be one of the most wonderful places Ive visited.

France sucks, bottom line they got defeated by everyone they border with, Brits, Italians, Mexicans and Brasil.

They make nice pastry though, you lot cant! ;0)

Food / Non-Pork Polish Foods/Dishes [15]

What do you eat in the UK? Why are you making such a big deal about eating pork? Eat beef or chicken for goodness sake! It's not the be all and end all. I dont eat pork, I managed just fine just like I do in the UK, eat wild boar, its nothing like pig and if you have a reaction to pork like I do, you'll be just fine.

French is self center nation

Bollox, The French are just fine, why are you looking for reasons to bash a nation? I'm English apparently we're supposed to hate them, Ive been several times to France and really like them, their food and temperment and most of all their public transport :0)

UK, Ireland / Migrant workers face rental block [59]

My mate has houses, she's happy to have Poles (only couples), but not certain other minorities since she had some african runnning credit card fraud from one of her houses. I know you're going to call me a racist and my mate but she has the right to say no, same as the council has the right to refuse to re-house someone who has anti social behaviour. I know of a few people who have houses who wont let to certain groups, chinese are are a big no no.

Love / What are your views (or Polish views) on abortion? [102]

Well not only, do u go into sex knowing you will have an orgasm?

I do because I dont shag every tom, dick and barry (im not using harry as it just makes me cringe at the thought of some middle aged bloke off a forum!)

Many reasons of course. But why should a guy be left out of the process? ShelleyS:

If a woman thought she could approach the said man, she would approach him. Would you not agree there are circumstances where women dont approach a man because they feel the response will to totally negative? Think long and hard about this one.

Not exactly true, there are plenty of guys who if given the choice would do a lot more to be a part of that childs life.

Well, we will have to disagree on this one, I think the numbers are relatively small.

All im saying is that there is a choice. Which I fully believe should be taken by both parties if possible.

Not always, but if there is I agree 100%.

final decision should be taken by the lass, but not without any talk with the guy.

This one, Im not sure about, some times a woman just wants to be reasured.

Love / What are your views (or Polish views) on abortion? [102]

I guess as long as people like you will repeat this old boring song. So, blame yourself.

Im not going to blame myself for the fact that women do not haemorrhage to death because they had a back street abortion.

hmm not sure about this, us guys love our kids aswell.

I dont deny that in any way shape or form, but bringing a life in to this world is a scary thing and being responsible for carrying it for 9 months is a big responsibility, something a man will never understand.

The women did too obviously... but they have the option, we dont.

Who said she had fun? Men are guaranteed an orgasm, pregnancy is proof of that, women on the other hand are not.

Sometimes, and sometimes the woman aborts without telling the guy.

Why do you think that is?

Should men too? it takes too to tango ;)

Only one to carry it for 9 months and take care of it for the rest of its life (Im saying it here because I dont want to appear sexist, shudder the thought Id get another 'ist' after my name!)

I only belive in abortion if the child was going to be severley retarded

Double standards. How do you know how "retarded" a child is going to be, where do you stop, spina bifida? Downs? The list is endless, are you saying, unless you have a "perfect" child, you are going to abort?

Love / What are your views (or Polish views) on abortion? [102]

How many times are we going to go over this very old boring topic.

1. Woman have abortions.

2. Women have safe abortions in countries where its legal

3. Woman do not die through having abortions to the degree they would if they were illegal.

4. Legalised abortion is a good thing.

5. If men had to have babies the abortion rate would be a lot higher.

6. People shouldnt judge a person for their actions if they dont know the other persons situation.

7. Why are men so moralist about this, they had their fun they walked away, what the hell do they care?

8. Its not just young stupid girls that abort, married people do.

9. Men convince women to abort.

10. Women have the right.

I know I havent covered everything, I dont believe I could because there are a million and one reasons and a million and one circumstances a woman would do it. Its a boring subject where those that agree will argue the case and those that dont will preach from the moral high ground.

UK, Ireland / Migrant workers face rental block [59]

A furniture shop in a south coast town has banned foreign students who it says take their fast food into the store to eat on the sofas and coffee tables.

Chris Moffet, manager of Perfect Homes in Eastbourne, said he put up a sign barring foreign students after his stock was damaged.

Solicitor Paul Gilbert said the store could be leaving itself open to prosecution under race relations laws.

But Mr Moffet said: "I am not prepared to have damage done to my products."

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8182558.stm

I suppose this shoots down all those multi cult liberalists that really believe this country loves immigrants because its clearly not the case,

But people do seem to believe this and think anyone who says otherwise is in a minority.

Life / How to obtain EHIC (European Health Insurance Card,) in Poland? [41]

Anyone who's daft enough to go abroad without adequate medical insurance needs their head seeing to, imo.

And the EHIC website is pretty clear:

I thought that too, but since the OP was going on about a card, this was the only one in the UK I could related her post to.

As for state hopsitals abroad, Spanish hospitals are a lot cleaner than British ones.

To the person who kept going on about private medical centres, you'd have to pay for them in the UK, same difference, nothing "private" is free.

As to NHS, its gets a lot of flack but it serves a purpose in the UK and does a damn good job of it considering the strain its under.

Also no one in the right mind would go away on holiday without insurance cover!

It was an E111 as well, not E11 and on the back of the EHIC it clearly states:

"make sure you have valid travel insurance"
"The EHIC is not valid for private treatment"

You learn something every day on here :)

In this case, you learnt a load of rubbish!

UK, Ireland / Maternity and benefits in Scotland [16]

@magda18

Depending on the company will depend on how they deal with you, in England you have to be with a company for 6 months (not pregnant) before you can claim maternity benefits, so if it works the same in Scotland then the company is not legally obliged to pay you anything above the statutory payments. Also you are only allowed a certain amount of paid maternity leave, if you wish to go off on mat leave at 5 months pregnant then you'll only have maybe 4 months off with the baby before they stop paying maternity pay.

As for you not being registered with the WRS, your employer could get in trouble for employing without all the correct paperwork.

Not sure you're going to be eligable for a penny. You didnt play by the rules, so you may lose out.

Statutory Maternity Pay
You can get Statutory Maternity Pay if you have been working for the same employer for at least 26 weeks, by the time you are 15 weeks away from the date your baby is due. This means that you must have worked for the same employer throughout your pregnancy. You should also earn at least as much as the lower earnings limit each week. The lower earnings limit is the level of wages where national insurance contributions start.

Statutory Maternity Pay is paid by your employer if you are away from work to have a baby. It can be paid for up to 39 weeks.

Life / Why do People spend half their lives complaining about living in Poland? [55]

No, its a massive issue although im sure many UK nationals are just as tainted as the foreigners.

But they are OUR problem, we dont need foreigners doing it. That's my point. Im not just on about people from 3rd world countries, in the last week alone there were Dutch "nationals" and Spanish "nationls" trying to bring enough in to kill 1,000s of people - Ive lost school friends to it, so I HATE anyone that brings it into this country.

If you lived here Shell you may find yourself jumping on the moany band wagon, atleast temporarily. holidaying is one thing but living is a totally different cup of tea.

I completely appreciate that, but never look for anything remotely English when Im off the Island...(I will admit this, begrundingly of cours, in true English styli I always take tea bags with me lol)

I know its just due to frustration that people post these threads but its becoming really borning..Its a Polish site, not a site for the English to moan about Poland, surely there are ex-pats sites to do that.

Polish roads are a serious problem, directly causing thousands of deaths every year. Not sure if immigration can claim that.

Thats another debate, have you seen the goverment web site and seen how many foreigners are trying to import horion to the UK.

Ive forever hearing you complain about immigration in the UK.

Thats a problem, lining up in the post office isnt!

But you're not seriously going to try to put the case to us that Poles don't whinge are you? ;)

Hey, if there was a gold at the olympics the Brits would win that ;0)

If you had a bad experience on your first trip to Poland, that means Poland sucks and the people are all scum. Of course this isn't true ;)

You know Ive never had a bad experience in any country Ive visited because I go with an open mind and ENJOY the differences...(okay.... hands up I did say customer service was bad in Poland, but if Im parting with cash they should be grateful, where ever I do it) but I can live with miserable shop assistants, they are not the be all and end all of my life!

I bet the differences between old villages and Warsaw centre are almost as great as those between UK and PL.

Im sure they are...friends of mine that moved to Ramsbottom were outsiders in the village even after living there for 10 years! Even the local lesbian who was born there was more accepted (very homophobic community by the way);0)

There are quite a few things that suck about living in Poland. In fact there are also things that suck about living in other countries. The point is that they are, by and large, different things. That's why they're worth talking about. :)

Talking about is one thing, but constantly whining about stupid things is silly.

Don't f*ck off between the vodka and the snacks

Except if its a man, women are soulless sex objects so nothing you do to
them can be wrong, also its proven women enjoy being cheated on.

We love it, but we love cheating even more.

You need to ask yourself what have you done to push him to such drastic measures

Have you read her posts? I actually sympathise with the guys that go off with other women...

UK, Ireland / The difference in family life England and Poland. [9]

Well, I dont understand where the money thing comes in then. Sounds like mother has an agenda. As for him going on birth cert....he has no chance other than to legally "adopt" the children or thats how it would work in the UK. He has very little in the way of rights.

Sickening. Looks like nowhere is safe from chav culture these days.

Well, I don't know an awful lot about Poland's chav life (ive been fortunately to meet nice Polish people), but I very much doubt they are as bad as the scummy chavy parasites we have here! Give it time though!

You mean mother was claiming benefits! As for putting his name on the birth cert. I very much doubt it, a child has to be registered within weeks in the UK I imagine its the same in Poland. What a pittyful thing to do for money, to have "father unknown" on your childs birth cert.!

Life / Warnings about Life in Poland [71]

and as for the rapists, well, Poland is a highly sexed place with a dodgy view of women.

You could have described England with your above comments, sex sells! Who wants to buy a product what some big fat ugly biffer drinks/eats/drives/wears?...

Also to the OP, Ive been to Poland 3 times and as a female I felt safer than I do in my own city (in England). Ive only ever encounted one drunken tramp and he was very friendly ;0) (he was carrying some skis -how odd!). I dont think that there are rapist ready to jump out on you, I think as everyone has said, just be cautious in areas that dont look particularly nice...As for riding on public transport late at night, do what you would do where ever you come from, sit at the front near to the driver, it's best to be on transport than walking the streets late at night.

UK, Ireland / UK HATRED TOWARDS POLES GROWING? [122]

The closed-minded moronic ones who still think they're in Pakistan, and will cling on to their illusions until the second their worthless life in this country is done with.

The UK happened to receive a majority of the bad Asians.

And you call me a racist - you're just very Polite!

Didn't you recently say on the forum you felt uncomfortable amongst black people? Polite racists are the worst....

so I don't know where you're getting this "They dunt spik inglesh" info from.

Hmmm, lets have wild guess here, the fact that even after 3 generations a lot of the females who come from the "old" country dont speak English....The fact that ever leaflet printed in the UK has to contain every asian language known to man!

Love / Do Polish guys think getting physically violent with a woman is OK? [40]

I'll tell you what, insecure little men abuse women and even more pathetic men justify it!

Don't hold too much hope on this twisted bunch, they twist your post, they cry with the shepherd and laugh with the wolf,if you know what mean.

So why the hell are you still here??? Do us a favour and go to a nice muslim forum where you can talk about honour killings with pride and keeping a woman in her place!
