Work / "Ethnicity" form - Polish Europeans? [77]

Well, Polson, it's, ahem, 'nice' you agree so enthusiastically with this Nazi creep, butburst boy

Hehe, you know if Hitler has said "Pizzas are good", should we never eat pizzas again ?

:)

I agree that the Angles and Saxons are European as were the Polans, the Celts, or any other tribes that lived on our continent.
Btw, dunno if BB is a Nazi...have you any proofs of his alleged "nazism" ? (see i'm playing your own game, hehe)

It means that Poland roads are bad...unless i'm really an idiot (i hope i'm not), that's what i understood.

Of course there not all bad

You sure ?

Out of context ?...

you will lose, you are the only person I've ever heard trying to say the Polish roads are good

I didn't say the roads are good, i'm just saying they're not all bad, there are good ones.

No i won't lose anything, have you ever been elsewhere in Poland ?? I visited many places, and always travelled by car, so i know what i'm talking about. There are bad roads, i know that, but don't say that all roads are sh!t cause it's not true. I drove on good and very good roads.

News / Poland adopting the Euro, but when? [65]

the people are miserable rude and arrogant

I don't know what people you see, but my Polish relatives and friends are kind and not miserable at all.

the roads are terrible

It depends where in Poland. Where are you ?

the weather is bad in the winter

Bad means snowy and cold weather ? What is the weather in England, in Germany ? The weather in summer (in PL) is really good, i cannot say the same about the UK...

News / Poland adopting the Euro, but when? [65]

Jesus, I can remember when I had seven zl's to the pound in 2000 :O)

Yep, today Złoty would be stronger than French ex-currency, the "Franc" ;)

All I can say to that is come live here for a couple of years - start a business buy a house take a driving test and experience the medical system. I'd be interested to hear your feed back then

I don't say that eveything's perfect, but why do you criticize Poland for its roads, people, weather then ?...

News / Poland adopting the Euro, but when? [65]

Poland along with all the other new EU entrants are not strong economic powers

Poland is an oncoming strong economic power, and yes by entring the EU, they accepted to have the Euro ;)

(i have the weird feeling that you like to say bad things about Poland, and keep comparing Poland to England... :) you live there, you cannot hate all...)

That's what you say...Poland will have the Euro but there are not specific date at the moment, then it's not that different. They could have it in 2009 like in 2013 (probably around 2012). Maybe Sweden and Denmark will adopt it before...who knows. About the UK, i don't know. The £ is quite strong, there's no reason to change it for now...

Work / "Ethnicity" form - Polish Europeans? [77]

If you consider yourself Anglo-Saxon you are quite European!
(Or where do you think the Angles and Saxons came from???)

Absolutely ;)

Of course Poles are Europeans, as are Brits. Being on an island doesn't make a difference. We all share a common history, our languages are linked...

Australia belongs to the Oceania continent, as New Zealand...even f they are islands (actually Oceania is only islands...)

Love / 5 months with my polish girlfriend now she's pregnant ! [21]

I think it's normal that she's scared. Does she speak English ? I guess so, at least a little...If she is really scared, maybe she should see a doctor or a counsellor, someone who can give her advice and reassure her (you could go with her, don't let her alone...)

By the way, congratulations, i wish you the best :)

Life / Top-selling Polish authors [5]

Stanislaw Lem. Lem’s books are available on Amazon, but I don't know which one of his novels would I like?

Solaris...Americans made a film from this Lem's book ;)

Who are best-selling Polish writers?

You can try Andrzej Sapkowski. Do you know the video game called "The Witcher" ? It's from a Sapkowski's "saga". The first book is "The Last Wish", i read it, and enjoyed it :)

Polonia / Polonia in scandinavian countries [23]

Moreover, Finns can understand Estonians, though not always, vice-versa, .........Hungarians??? NO WAY!
The classic linguistic comparison between Finnish and Hungarian is: in Hungarian many 'h'-words ('hal' = fish) become 'k'-words in Finnish ('kal'), or Finnish 'kaasi' -hand is 'kez' in Hungarian.

It's interesting how those people who are not Indo-Europeans, came to Europe, and ended up separated like that. Like Romania and it's Latin language surrounded by Slavic countries, or Albania and it's specific language...

Great Europe ;)

Poles in Norway:

We have 120000 Poles in Norway so they are pretty easy to find :)

120000 Poles...they are almost as numerous as Norwegians ;P LoL (i know Norway has a pop. of 4,5 million)

I've been on this forum once...i should give it a look again, thanks for the link anyway.

Life / What is the attitude of Poles in Poland to émigré Poles? [15]

Hmm...don't really know, i would say that if this "foreign Poles" say they are Polish, if they are Christians, if they speak Polish (at least a bit), etc...then i guess that they are just Poles from abroad... :P

Polonia / Polonia in scandinavian countries [23]

"we are not very good-looking people compared to our neighbors".

Speak for yourself maxx..

Hmm...are you Finnish Jake ? ;)

The point is that Finns are not Scandinavian (their western neighbours are). Then they may have not exactly the same look as Swedes and Norwegians for example...But they aren't ugly :)

History / Should Germany claim to be the victims in Poland? [510]

30% of members of German organisation that want to build this center are former nazists

What about the "remaining" 70% ?...

I don't think that Germans think they are the victims of Poland, and i don't think that a so-called museum would change anything.

:)
