Food / Polish Milk, Just not the same [54]

My dear fellow I was not born in a barn but have a degree in Agriculture.

That's cool. I've never heard of Salmonella being in a raw milk (it could be... I just don't know). I merely think it's quite doubtful if anybody has specific antibodies against salmonella. If so you're really lucky.

I can drink straight from the cow becuse I have the neccesary anttibodies against Salmonella

You seem to mix things up. Salmonella is in a raw meat and nobody has "antibodies" against it. Boiled milk is merely better assimilated and lessen chances of that you end up with a run.

History / Polish and Russian propaganda posters [18]

McCoy

Don't know what "pocisk" means but I suspect the whole slogan can be rendered as "One (every) shell - one German".

The second is clear "bey bolshevikov" in Russian.

History / Polish and Russian propaganda posters [18]

My favourite bit is how even today some Poles are still repeating this bit of Nazi propaganda!

What that means? "England! (these are) your deeds"?

Language / I know Russian language - will it help me learn Polish? [105]

I do realize that Swedish is the language as we say "dlia dushi" for the soul, rather than it can help you in your career or something.

In Moscow it's really expensive to study Swedish... Think it should be cheaper in the US.

What's written on second? Too small letters I can't read. I actually doubt if I could understand if they were bigger.

Language / I know Russian language - will it help me learn Polish? [105]

Interesting... I can hardly understand films in Polish (well... I get the notion but no more than that). I grew up with Russian only though.

rusak

You would better firstly learn how to properly speak Russian yourself.

Life / Poles are very polite nation! [47]

They saw I was foreign and started grumbling away

How did they figure that out?
Btw do you still have strong accent? I also wonder how Russian accent sounds to Poles when they speak Polish...

Plywood where did you live in the USSR? What's your actual nationality? Where do you live right now? Hope this's politically correct enough... :)

USA, Canada / Why would someone leave Poland for the US? [120]

I'd assume that at present Poles could leave Poland for the same reason as Russians could. Looking for material wellbeing and better life in general. Some are happy.

History / Famous Polish Russians. [26]

I don't have number to Sasha :(

Every time I run onto my name in this thread I feel like "hey guys... hope it's not about me this time..." :)

That makes me very sad, too...

Don't be sad Filios. We've got better ones both in SP and in Moscow. :) Sasha Strunina seems to have artificial boobs which is no good.

Genealogy / Krawczenko [6]

What does Krawczenko mean?

Sarah, this is Ukranian and Russian (in Russian it's mostly "Kravczov") last name. The base is "kravec", means "tailor" in old Russian.

Hope this helps,
Sasha

History / Why official Poland attacked Serbians in 1999? Was it worth? [49]

poland didn't attack serbia, poland came to the defense of the bosnians from your guns. that is all.

They were just used as another american (well... it's too easy to say "american".. in fact it's more complicated) tool. Where were Poles when there was a time to defend Serbs?

We all believe now, this photogragh explains everything happened between 92-95.
Bosnian army killed one Serbian soldier during this period and Serbians got angry.

Be honest or GTFO of this thread. Your "enlightened" opinion is of none importance on Serbian issue. Better do football predictions. Oh... and sorry for being rude.

Genealogy / Need info on my Russianized/Ukrainianized last name. [25]

My family surname was changed in this way. At this time about 2 million Polish civilians were deported to Siberian Gulags to work in the frozen wasteland (why, well they needed slaves as no one else volunteered for the jobs). All people's documents were translated from Polish (English like alphabet characters) too this Cyrillic type letters. Of course a lot of Polish letters have no direct letter in Russian.

Moja Dorogaja, Polish names in Russia are "readone" the same way. If it's Pashkovska it's likely to be "Пашковская" (Pashkovskaja), if it's male gender Pashkovsky then it's likely to be Пашковский (Pashkovskiy). There's no really serious transformation.

Honestly, I see antipolish russian posters first time in my life. Thanks. Good to know there're lots of antibolsheviks posters in Russia as well.

News / Lithuania, Poland Leaders Warn EU Against Russia Talks [33]

I have already stated that these two countries need to become closer, economically, but at the same time, they need to be mutually respectful.

Well said. But still I don't understand why Polish Gov always puts obstacles on the Russian way...

Love / How do the polish girls view the turkish guys ? [53]

It is true. I have been to Russia and Turkey. Turks are like ... Italians

I said that we did not care much about being "European", especially considering your criteria of "europeanness".
I didn't understand what you wanted to say by the video you posted. Your personal preference?

somebody told me that it's tradition for all Turkish men to shag a goat before they get to shag a woman, that is how they learn their amazing skills

Heard of that too... :)

I like Turks much more than Russians ...

Sounds like a compliment iz tvoih ust... :)

I consider Turkey more european than Russia.

Would be a point, if we cared.

They have kind of democracy

I kinda love that. :)

and more rights than Russians

Like what? Do a donkey without being bad-mouthed by a neighbour? :)

Meanwhile, Tatars are also our relatives and there are millions of tatars living in Russia. Do you have any problems with them ?

As long as one keeps himself within bounds of a decent behaviour, I am ok with him. Unspoken fact is that oriental minority causes the majority of all crimes...

I think, this is the same for European nations.

So that it seems like it's not the exactly same for European nations. And I'm afraid it's not only about that you might have smelled differently.
