Life / Polish escort services - legal in Poland? [98]

Escorts? best avoided gentlemen.
No woman aspires to be cumdumpster as a little girl. That's a sign that something went wrong (financially, emotionally, whatever). If you can't meet lovely things with only your smile and craptastic dancing then your problems are deeper than a degrading fix will cure. Testify B!tches!

USA, Canada / advice on where to live in Canada [64]

Brantford Ontario has a very sizeable Polish population. A good friend of mine used to live there.

Travel / Tips for driving in Polish cities [29]

planning your route only works up to a point as some streets are marked and some aren't and sometimes it's just bloody impossible to even see the name until it's too late. Plan on getting lost, accept it and let nothing fluster you.

no offence to mr. enfield but who is he to take responsibility for the actions of so many and ask for and accept forgiveness. Such notions are ridiculous bordering on arrogance imo.

ask the Native population in North America, and especially Canada, and I'm sure you would be given a different answer.

he's got a point.

So what of it? I'm half Polish

fair play but if someone hadn't ventured outside their country then you wouldn't be here to make everyone's life so joyful.

Anyways guys isthatu, filos c'mon you can't seriously be charging eachother with any share of the responsibility for crimes of the past.

c'mon "admitting" to our forefathers' crimes? That's a lil much if there's nothing we can do to fix the past or repay the victims. this whole debate has gone off the silly charts- neither of you two had anything to do with anything your accusing each other of and certainly don't have sway over "your" nations at present.

The Poles would do better for themselves by sitting tight at home in Poland, and trying to make the country a better place.

Don't you live in Greece?

News / March of Tolerance in Krakow [478]

it is caused by environment as well, usually the behaviour and relation between parents and children.

Well that settles it doesn't it? No need to refer to any difinitive studies or research (which there is none of to my knowledge), you just said it so it must be true-in your mind at least.

the mainstream should prevail culturally, legally and morally.

just like in nazi germany eh? or how about in Rwanda, ethnic cleansing was the norm there too y'know? I realize those are extreme examples but that is the extreme of the logic you've presented. Besides that, i'd say that culturally homosexuality is not the norm nor does this parade seek to turn anyone gay, it's just some gay people saying that they are tired of pretending to be like you or me cause that's how people like you or I want everyone to be.

Beyond that, one really has to ask how the mainstream isn't prevailing in all those areas, i'd say heterosexuality has prevailed in all those areas, and the people who aren't "straight" may be a lil tired of living in a place where everyone considers them strange or wrong, mostly out of small-mindedness, ignorance or in the name of god (which if you think about it, is quite blasphemous to assume one of god's creations [if you believe in god] isn't exactly how god wanted it to be)

I do agree with not tolerating the re-enacting of sexuality on the streets and the uhhh exposing of one's fantasies- and really feel that's an abbuse of people's efforts in trying to be accepting (obnoxious too0. That being said, there is a lot of overt heterosexuality displayed in public that is also best left expressed in private.

Life / Warsaw - most boring capital in Europe, after Brussels - comments? [78]

Personally I find Krakow as overrated as Paris. Give me Bratislava, Milan or Wroclaw any time.

here, here, I second that!
Krakow is sooooo been there done that, but it's pretty good for driving so it get's a thumb's up there.

Milan is very under-rated it's got a bad reputation but c'mon not every city can be florence.

Bratislawa-hitch-hiking in Brat-land.. ah the memories.

Love / I have met a wonderful Polish woman, but she has a 9 yrs old daughter [66]

holy condescending-judgemental-irrelevent-self-righteous-posts batman!

hey man, all you can do is put your best foot forward and try. if you two can be honest and make it work, well then good for you and fcuk the losers that need to pass judgement. There will always be the holier than thou crowd in every country, the one here just has a higher pitch than elsewhere.

Travel / Czestochowa - what is it like? [30]

^that sounds bout right. and it's a much more objective description of the place. It's like any small city in Poland- don't expect disney land, you gotta make something out of it.

Life / Polish dentists - good and cheap? [84]

poland has been in the top tier of dentistry for decades.

I agree with plk123, Poland has very good technology and a well respected dental industry.

wow, completely opposite experience here. I had my teeth royally screwed up and still can't drink anything cold (waiting until i go home for rnr to get that sorted out). I know others that have had their teeth messed up here as well- and they are Polish!.

History / 1939: the road to tyranny. Is it happening again? [14]

i remember living in germany in 2003.

I rented a room in this wonderful giant house owned by a german architect. He was a hard-working, salt of the earth type guy.

I remember him telling me over and over that he had experienced very similar things in Germany as a boy as to what was happening in U.S. He told me again and again how similar the whole thing was/is. I didn't have the sense at the time to believe him but many of the older Germans in the area spotted that s*** waaaaay before most other people. And they spotted the similarities because they were accutely aware of them. She's saying the same thing that old German guy was saying. I'm inclined to agree with them at this stage in the game.

News / What makes Poland different from other countries [55]

Foreigner. You make Poland sound horrible What are your thoughts on Lithuania?

no. you've interpreted what i've said as something horrible. I think it's great the way it is but of course, since tourism came up, I mentioned the one blight that i feel keeps tourists at bay by word of mouth alone.

Lithuania? the thread isn't really meant to be about that, now is it?

I think its quite sad how Poland allows its language to be watered down.

i actually agree with the guy on this matter.

News / What makes Poland different from other countries [55]

Well, I heard from an American visitor to Poland that is is very fine to be served be real people instead of trained customer service reps with fake smiles and being after your money.

EXACTLY!!!

i agree with shelly that Poland needs more time to understand that in order to compete in today's world you have to make your customers feel like kings!

UGH! I hope Polish people keep their crap service because at least it's genuine, if a person needs pampering from complete strangers all the time then it's time to play "grow a set" and clean the sand out of their ovaries.

Poland as a place on the map (not as a free-willed entity), has a lot to offer but the big thing (and by this i mean monstrously big) is that if tourists are to be attracted here then the natural countryside forests and lakes need cleaning. Even the trees could do with a scrubbing in parts of southern Poland, but most of all the endless slew of litter needs collecting and proper reuse or disposal.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

as I recall I don't remember any other country orchestrating a cyber attack, threatening countries with nukes, using oil to control countries, poisoning its former agents on another countries soil.. etc.... shall I continue?

please don't as your incessantly craptastic retorts are by and large unread, i.e. i stopped reading most of your half-witted replies loooong ago. No one is claiming Russia to be an angel and i most certainly can't ethically support the activities you've mentioned but on this issue Harry brought up a valid point which you have avoided and stayed true to the descripton i proffered above your latest garbage.

Enjoy your Trix kiddo.

Love / What make Polish girls better than American girls [106]

krysia

it's worth doing what you can to have him deported if possible, but i'd take it a step further and do what i could to rid the world of that parasite. i'm a firm believer in capital punishment and not necessarily by only the state.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Well, I am not going to answer that, but let me pose the same question with the subject and the object reversed.

good question Harry, i am constantly amazed at the self-loving patriots from all over that are always able to accuse but never turn an introspective eye towards their own countries.

Life / "I can spot a Pole a mile away" - Polish fashion? [146]

I've noticed that the Mullet has become fashion again. Seems to be popular in PL...a sloppy one with short hair on top. I hear this came from British fashion. True? Why??????

yeah what the heck is going on with the mullet over here? It peaked about a year or two ago (tons of russians had that dumb looking cut) but there are still a few i see with that cut. it's a sad state when that many dudes preen that much over their frocks and still look like they stuck their heads up a lawn mower.

regarding fashion in poland, if the following recommendations offend you then consider yourself guilty:

gentlemen
-belts are an accessory that should be worn with smart trousers or casual trousers, invest in a good one and ensure it matches your shoes.

- the dress shirt- unless one is wearing a tie, the top button should not be buttoned at all.

-casual shirts- when the collars have buttons then it is in fact a sport shirt and a tie should not be worn with it.

-shirts in general, either blouse the thing out a bit or where a belt but tucking it in allllllllll the way looks geeky and makes a gangly frame and physique more so.

-brand names- it's your money and spend it how you want but you must realize that when one is clad in obnoxious brands that a person not only resembles luggage but very tacky and kitsch luggage at that.

Muscle heads, tatoos are meant to be art for the body, if you have no artistic sense then, i emplore you, keep them off your necks- your future will thank you for it. If you're unsure as to whether or not you have any artistic sense then look at your closet, if you've made attempts to stock up on loud brand name plastered clothing and think that anything with a swoosh on it looks good, then you have no artistic sense.

ladies,
-all that glitters is not gold so tone the Fcuk DOWN on the glitter already. that goes for face, hair, clothes and accessories

-hair-blue and burgandy are for buraki and jet black is only cool when everyone else doesn't have the same hair colour too. Natural ladies, natural hair colour is the next "in" thing, speed up the process.

-Tanning- cut it out!!! I am in a look but can't touch position but for your own sakes and the sake of the next guy that will cup your body in various ways and places, lay off the tanning, it will do your body good and you'll find a suppleness return to the leathery byproduct of the tanning bed you call your skin. If you're so infatuated with leather then dress in it (you can afford it if you reduce your tanning sessions by half or more)

If you use tanning cream then use less, ALOT LESS.

-Rolling the jeans up, cool you found a bargain that fits but the length is too long. do you have any idea how cheap it is to go to a pazmanteria and just get the things properly hemmed? The money you've save on buying jeans that are too long will be more than enough to cover the operation.

-Short shirts, you have a nice belly and want to show it off but if you notice that men routinely avoid oggling your "nice" belly then it is probably nice and full, too full.

Polish ladies, you've let the reputation of Polish beauty go to your heads and quite frankly fat looks like crap and no matter how much and many cosmetics you cake on will not hide fatness. You are like any other person, if you eat more than you burn you get fat and fat is unattractive.

Nails-the reason you're out of shape is because your nails are too long and only allow you to perform the simplist of tasks. If you're fat, then the nails got to go and you gotta take up some physical activity. Dance classes qualify.

Genealogy / Look for my Father: Vlodgimierg (Włodzimierz?) Stanisław Rosa from Krakow - he was a musician [2]

i checked his name out on onet and there were multiple matches(minus the middle name), however, without knowing where he was from originally or what kind of work he might be involved in it's tough to find anything that would be helpful. make sure you check polish search engines.

i've had to do this kind of thing before (but not in poland), you really need to offer up more info if you want people to help out.

Language / "sorry" instead of "przepraszam" [76]

i agree with jones101.

Also I personally feel the amount of english signs and slogans used in the advertising sector is not only poorly done but really takes away from polish charm as well.

the Silesia City Centre should be renamed imo.

UK, Ireland / "Half of Poles in UK plan to return home" Telegraph article [8]

i wonder how the economy will be able to reabsorb those who return.
If there is still high unemployment here, what will they do, will they start their own small businesses?

I am skeptical that those "planning" on returning will actually do so. what constitutues "planning" according to this survey anyhow? I have my doubts as to the sincerity of those plans, perhaps it's more a comment on home sickness than anything else.

I do feel for the avg. brit though it seems that big business interests definitely take priority over the wishes of the people when it comes to border accessiblity imo

Love / A Polish Married Girl Rocks my boat!! [54]

good god man, pull yourself together! You brought your kids into this world- give them the stability you'd have wanted for yourself as a child. c'mon, do the right thing, something you can be proud of when you look back on this.
