Love / My Polish boyfriend fancies are Pakistani neighbor. What do I do ? [291]

theoldcrownpub.co.uk

this is the link, typical village pub, small, great atmosphere, and we made our own ale:)

Prince Charles visited twice because, many years ago the owners wife had died, and the pub was put up for sale. all the large breweries were trying to buy. but the villagers rebelled and bought the pub and brewery. making it the first co-op pub in the uk. Prince Charles came because he wrote a book on how the pub is the hub of a community.:)

News / What if Russia decide to liberate Scottland from England? Polish position [152]

let's all forget about the Ghurkas LOL. Talk about the deluded one...!

They join because their earnings are a huge source of income to Nepal. Out of tens of thousands who apply, only a few hundred will be accepted.

Plus the sultan of Brunei pays upto 38,000,000 pounds a year to have a regiment.

News / What if Russia decide to liberate Scottland from England? Polish position [152]

England ALONE is VERY unlikely

England has allies

Ignorant (unt, England or the UK?

Great to hear the "scottish" pound is stronger than the English.

And for all who says...Scotland wont vote for independance....nice words, but has it ever been put to practice?

The Scotts are assimilated.Have you seen any scottish revolution in the last 300 years?

You could argue that we don't need it...after all it was a Scottish King who took over the English throne and made "great britain" as it is known for the past 300 years.

News / Should Poland send volunteers to Georgia ? [100]

I don't see the problem here. The UK army reacted to Argentina invading the Falkland's, so why should we expect Russia not to invade this land?

UK, Ireland / Polish is suing because she cannot speak english!!! [45]

A contract is a legal document, if she didnt speak English, she was stupid to sign it.

Though again you could argue why did they employ someone who didnt speak English.

I have had a contract in poland for the past 2 years, only yesterday i discovered what was in it...

Real Estate / Renting apartments long-term in Krakow, any good sites? [5]

Try not to use Estate Agents, as they will charge you alot.

For Example, i used an estate agent when i first came here, the charges are as follows;
To register with them = 700pln
Finders fee once you have agreed on a property = 1900pln
When you add that to deposit and month in advance rent, it can be a costly adventure.

Real Estate / Monthly Management Fee - Who pays it? Landlord or Tenant? [4]

The tennant must pay for it. As it is him using the flat. Also in most contracts it state that the tennant must be responsible for the up=keep of the premises, this includes paying the management fee.

Life / Indian moved to Poland [532]

That indicates that the really well qualified Poles still perfer working abroad until and unless they get really good salaries out here.

Or maybe that in the past 2 years investment is slowing, and most of the jobs are filled.

News / America: Take your missile base and shove it! [116]

JohnP

Am i at church? who's this preacher?

A simple reminder, the US wasn't the only nation with an A-bomb program

It was the only nation to USE it.

Who says Stalin gets E. Germany or Poland or Czech Republic, after all?

Wasn't it the American President, who wanted a quick resolution to the affair, so he could fund the war in the Pacific?
