I don't know if you noticed but it was the only story in The Daily snot rag that didn't have a comments section after the so-called article.

I did notice the lack of comments section.

I didn't know it was the only article that didn't have this section , but that's because I didn't look at the other articles, I'm not interested in who is too fat or too thin or who they have or haven't slept with

I forced myself to go on their website to see what they had to say for themselves.

They are critisizing some members of the press for writing negative articles, nowhere do they mention that it was their rag writing this stuff, they assume that all people share the same low level of intelligence as their readers...

My belief is this - if you are living in Scotland then you are part of the Scottish community, regardless of your culture, religion etc

Why have these divisive awards ?
If you are of that mindset then no matter who or what you are, you will always be in the minority.

Really idiot

First of all, there is no need for name calling and insults

Some forum members can't understand what I am writing.

Secondly, I used to work for the railway, as have members of my family....My ex is a safety standards manager for the railway, so i do understand quite a bit actually.

You quote network rail statistics, but fail to mention that these people are illegally trespassing on railway property...wrap people up in cotton wool all you like, but you can never protect people from themselves

Have you ever had to spend time with a train driver who has killed some idiot who decided to go for a walk along the track? Well I have and it's not a pleasant experience

A third rail warning device in which the third rail carries in use a dangerously high voltage.

So, turn off the electric supply so the person on the track won't get electrocuted..........Does this mean we should also stop trains from running on the track so people can safely go on them without getting hit?

if the guy wasn't electrocuted he might've been ran over by a train

Exactly, to be that close to the third rail, he would have also been in danger of being hit by a train

You can't make it impossible for people to get onto the tracks, if you did how would the emergency services rescue people if there was an accident. All you can do is put up signs and expect people to take notice.

With Grangemouth refinery shutting down, people in Scotland are starting to do that already

Yeh, im thinking of starting a vegetable garden just in case. Live off the land a little.

you know I think more people in Poland are closer to bottom line than Brtish

I was referring to people in general, as Grzegorz said we are heading for global recession. It's the people in the lower paid jobs, whose livelihoods are going to be at greatest risk. People are feeling the credit crunch, they are going to stop spending on the luxuries, not the necessities. People are going to cut back on going out to eat, drink, visit the theatre etc., It's the lowest paid workers who work in these places and they are the ones who will see their jobs most at risk initially.
