You are famous in America for your mail order brides.
At least Poland women have more respect for themselves. I don't personally have any problems with Ukranians, but do you really find it necessary to come here and troll for trouble?
I find it annoying that you repeat everything over and over again. Maybe you should go to a Ukranian forum.
This would be a compliment for ukrainian girls since there it is supposed that a prostitute has to be beautiful. Many ukrainian girls think themselves as open-minded persons, not hookers of any kind and find normal what they do.
didn't know that Southern. In the UK that would be classes as an insult.
In Ukraine it is not an insult.Girls think they offer western men what they want in the best way. They are generous and expect the men to be generous as well.
Yeah. I don't know any woman who would like to be called a hooker. Some in the US may see themselves as a "professional".
It wasn't meant to slag off Ukranian women. I have Ukranian roots myself, but she shouldn't come here saying such things with nothing to back up. Seems like she's just trolling.
Poland made one big big mistake during our history we had Rzeczpospolita Obojka Narodow (Federation of Two nation lithuanian and polish) and should made three with Kossacks (protoplast of ukrainian) to this day we will lead this region but som our importent person wwere affraid about their gods not all country..
No point to argue over this topic. The story is very simple, if someone was born in Lwow when it was Poland obviously it's gonna always stay Polish to him. It's a same with Germans that used to live in the western part of Poland before 1945. They will always see it as a German territory simply because when they were born it was Germany. Our easteuropean history is very complicated. I believe that for peace sake we all should at least try to forgive if not forget what has happened long time ago otherwise we're gonna be hating each other for the rest of days.
all should at least try to forgive if not forget what has happened long time ago
I agree, but it's very hard. These are deep, old wounds that are easily opened. For example, I'm reading a very good book right now about a Lemko descendant's ancestors' stories, and just got to the part where he describes how the annihalation of many villages of Lemkos/Boykos took place - this was done jointly by the Poles and the Russians - possibly with Slovaks as well - just because they wanted the lands these people lived on, peacefully, for centuries. It does little to encourage forgiveness, but that is the challenge, isn't it? I must remember a most excellent definition for the term forgiveness that helps with this - "forgiveness is the refusal to continue to be hurt by another person's wrongdoing." AND I must remember that forgiveness does not condone what the other person did - it's simply a way for me to regain peace and serenity with that person and myself. It's rarely easy.
Why anti-Polish comments like that are posted while my inputs about nazi attitude in contemporary Germany are canceled? Is it POLISH forum, or rather polish - politically correct in some cases (but not all) - forum?
To nataliya: I like Ukrainians, but you have permanent complex of minority and your inputs are brilliant proof of that :). About Lwów - Lwów before 1945 was Polish city, it was the most beutifull pearl in Polish Crown, center of Polish culture, science (see Polish Math School in Lwow, Stefan Banach), heart of Polish soul. Now it is just a peripherial town nowhere :(.
To El Gamal: if Ukrainians have permanent complex of minority, Polish in their turn have complex of unjustified superiority. And that is the immediate cause of all your misfortunes since everything in history has cause and effect. As for Lviv, please, buy a modern political map of Europe, hang it on the wall, and have a look at that every day - everything on the map within Polish frontier you can call polish, therefore everything within Ukrainian frontier
you must call Ukrainian. That's were we stand as civilized modern nations. And let me tell you a little secret - right now Lviv is doing pretty good with it's cultural diversity as Ukrainian city.
Property that was taken from the Polish people in eastern Ukraine in 1939-45 were to be paid for. Some recieved compensation in western Poland (land taken from Germany), others were never reimbursed. Deadline to recieve compensation (as aggreed in 1945) has a deadline of Dec. 2008. Claim forms can be from the next of kin and you do not have to reside in Poland.
What in hell is "complex of minority"? Chulpan is right - haughtiness keeps bringing you down. Yes, Lviv has a lot of cultural diversity: Armenian, Georgian, Polish , German etc. All can come over and enjoy the beauty, express their opinions, work, learn, drink coffee and chill out... So, please come over and profit from it.
Ukraine didn't steal the land, Stalin did, and he was a chiurka, not a Russian. But if Germany wants their land back, we should get Western Ukraine and Belarus, technically that was Polish land for hundreds of years, what, we'll give both their land back and not get nothing, yea right. If ur gonna talk like that, then every country in the world would have to give something back to another, America to Indians, Russia to Finns, Lapps, Asiatic Siberians, whole of eastern Germany was Slav lands, like Sorbs and many other tribes. Being fair to everyone Poland like it is today is how it should stay, western Ukraine was and is ethnic Ukrainian land, it was part of Kievan Russia. Western and Northeastern Poland the former German lands, was originaly and is today ethnic Polish lands, from when Poland was founded as a nation and for hundreds of years afterwards. German tribes did live on those lands before Slavs came, but the abandoned them and migrated to what is now western Germany 50 yrs before Slavic tribes came, the ones that formed Poland. So Germans can't really call that land "theirs".
There was a ukrainian canadian from saskatchewan by the name of nathan who posted in the ssc.com forums a couple of years ago when I used to browse the forums. He wrote a lot like you do here.
No, I am not him. I stumbled upon this site recently. I am interested in knowing others' thoughts and expressing mine. I think it is of advantage to both sides.
To El Gamal: if Ukrainians have permanent complex of minority
inferiority

Tell it better to bandera lovers from western Ukraine (i.e. Kresy) who claim, that half of Malopolska is "ukrainian ethnic land". And please stop to write about civilised nation, as ukrainian politicians and half of country support upa who were slowly cutting people on parts watching how they suffer and laugh at them! Maybe Poland is far from being perfect, but ukraine is down on the bottom of any scale :(

The hell Nathan? Armenian, Georgian?GERMAN? I can off the bat list over 100 historical buildings built by Poles, virtually all of Lwów is built up by Poles with a miserable few buildings erected by Habsburgs and Ruthenians, the only city with more preserved Polish architecture is Kraków itself.
...Lviv's historic centre has been on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage list since 1998. UNESCO gave the following reasons[15] for its selection:
Criterion II: In its urban fabric and its architecture, Lviv is an outstanding example of the fusion of the architectural and artistic traditions of eastern Europe with those of Italy and Germany.
Polish and Ukrainian relations ware alwayes difficult as Polish nobility used and abuse Ukrainians for centuries so there was resentment to Poles, if Poland would give rights to Ukarinians made them third nationality in union the history would be diffrent now.
WWII wold not happen, the Polish partishion would not happen even the Russian revolution would be not happen but Polish nobility look for personal gain not for good of nation so
we had U.P. mordering polish population then we had A.K. mordering ukrainin population, we had stalin starving 20 mil. ukrainians to death we had misery to all nations.
We need to put this to past and stop this arguments we live in this word together and history is there to teach us how to not repeat the same mistakes again.
it will be funny if earth decided to take the land from all of us then it would not matter who it use to belong.
BB we built in accordance to German and Italian schools but these are Polish variations different then what you find in Berlin, if you want to get anal about 10% of Lwów is Baroq which is specifically Polish in style, whatever the style Poles built it all (almost).
