Polish feminists claim that 30 to 40 thousand Polish girls leave the country every year to have an abortion, mostly in the U.K but also in Germany, The Netherlands, Czech rep.

wilnoteka.lt/pl/artykul/nielegalna-w-polsce-aborcja-wykonywana-za-granica

In Poland, the number of illegal abortions and the associated "tourist destination" in order to remove the pregnancy. It is estimated that every year in Poland is made from 80 thousand to 200 thousand abortions, of which 10-15 percent of Polish women perform surgery in clinics in Europe. Such information is found at the conference dedicated to the parliamentary question of abortion - the issue arouses great controversy in Poland.
The conference was also attended by guests from the countries to which Polish women go to terminate their pregnancies. They claimed that their female patients are mostly women at the age of 1916-1948 years. It is generally a person educated and Affluent consumers - the safe and legal procedures in private clinics in Europe can afford only a richer Pole. Abortion costs there for 280 euro (Netherlands) even up to 1.2 thousand. pounds (UK). The average rate - 400 euros - is still lower than the price of illegal treatment in Poland, which ranges from 5 to 10 thousand. zł.

For international clinics they go to both women who have the right to legal abortion in the country because of their fetus is defective, for example, a genetic disease. They are afraid of stigmatization, however, often have difficulty finding a doctor who would undertake the surgery. Dr. Olga Loeber the Dutch clinic Mildred Rutgers Huis presented a case of deaf 20-year-old Polish, who already has one child and is afraid that it will cope with the next, and the 22-year old rape victim. To this clinic come from 80 to 100 Polish citizens of each year.

The specific situation in the UK, where private clinics are very expensive. Polka perform there, the treatment free of charge - within the insurance that replaced each with a work permit.

Abortion in Poland is possible only in three circumstances: when pregnancy threatens the life or health of women when the fetus is damaged, where pregnancy is the result of a crime. In practice, legal abortions performed in Poland, just a few hundred a year, he often denied the right to treatment.

During the conference, the Sejm demonstrated only a dozen abortion opponents, holding placards with a photograph of Hitler and bloody pictures of fetuses.

The figures sound feasible enough I suppose.

I oppose church influenced policy on abortion.

And I'm saying no more on this thread as I can see it will either be closed promptly or go on for 40 pages of repetitive shrill sh1te.

Here where I live, relatively close to Czech border, more then half of the women I know visited Czechs at least once.

EDITED: I have just seen how it looks like :-)
I am NOT suggesting that I did have anything to do with the reason for said visits...

There was a thread on this before but still a very good post, PennBoy. Isn't it strange how all these Catholic women cease being Catholic when in the UK? Abortion should really be made much more difficult than it is but it is a complicated matter.

I find it hard to believe that there are 30-40 k Polish prostitutes are getting pregnant every year. Are you insinuating something else?

Thank You Seanus. I wonder how many percent of them get pregnant while whoring around on their men back home, with coloreds? Knowing what many of them are doing in the U.K i'm sure it's a large part of the whole.

Absolutely! Away from the watchful gaze of their parents, I'm sure they drop more than their guard. 30-40,000 is a staggering statistic given they are raised in a culture that strongly frowns upon abortion. They really give Poland a bad name as I don't generally see Polish girls as lacking in moral fibre. All it needs is one drunken fling, a bit of bara bara and who knows?

I'm not talking about people but government policy being influenced by the church.

(feck it, I said I wouldn't post any more on this)

The math here just doesn't work.
10 to 15% of 80,000 to 200,000 is 8,000 to 30,000 of abortions in foreign countries.

In other words, the authors have only a vague idea what they are writing about.

If this is true then here's some wisdom from me:

1) if you're gonna open your legs to some piece of s'hit then expect the consequences. Or just use a condom!

2) this is the beginning of the end. A too liberal society breeds immorality and decadence. Too many abortions is not good for the growth of a country. Try not having so many abortions!

3) Polish b'itches should be more responsible. Just keep the kids! I thought Poles were supposed to be family oriented!

It is interesting how ONLY men have commented on this thread. It only proves that some men have an opinion about something they cannot relate to.

1) if you're gonna open your legs to some piece of s'hit then expect the consequences. Or just use a condom!

the same goes for you, doesn't it?

2) this is the beginning of the end. A too liberal society breeds immorality and decadence. Too many abortions is not good for the growth of a country. Try not having so many abortions!

3) Polish b'itches should be more responsible. Just keep the kids! I thought Poles were supposed to be family oriented!

again you have proved that you are a clueless and detached individual, who for some reason missed everything that is going around him.

It looks like Polish girls come around a little :-)

it looks like couples have sex and women get pregnant. Women don't get pregnant by themselves, or they do where you are?

Now, on topic: the access to abortion in Poland is almost non-existant. Feminists, or not, there is a serious issue and if some of men are comfortable with their women abort their babies abroad, instead in their own country, or better: if some men are so irresponsible that they make their women pregnant and let them deal with the problem alone, then I have to say that it reflect more on those men then those women.

It is easy to make a judgement, especially when one cannot bore children and most of your opinions are worth nothing really.

I would be weary of taking statistics produced by feminists at face value, my guess would be that it is about half that number. No offence, but these organisations often like to take a figure and double it for extra attention. The truth is that they have absolutely no definite means of working out the true number, and if they produced a number that is too low, well they obviously would not get the attention they crave.

I notice that in none of these reports is there a methodology that explains how they come up with this number, let me guess pulled out the duff(:

Apparently about 190 000 abortions take place in the UK per year, but again they do not explain how they calculate the number. Although given that the NHS performs them legally and for free they might actually record them. I do find it curious that the state should pay a women to kill her child, at least she should use her own funds-seems a bit more amoral to me-after all not every taxpayer would wish for his or her money to be spent this way.

well, weather the numbers are right or not is not the issue here. The issue here is that women who contribute to the NFZ from their earnings have to go abroad in order to get serviced and strain other countries health system. It is a shame that their own health system has failed them.

So you are saying that feminist organizations like to falsify the numbers in order to get attention? Do you have a proof for that?

I notice that in none of these reports is there a methodology that explains how they come up with this number, let me guess pulled out the duff(:

I am sure if you dig deep enough, you will get the info about their methodology. I did once and got pages of reports. Ask and you will get the answer. Somehow I think this is NOT what you after here.

Another issues is that if women see that there is not enough security (either financial or social) they will not have a child.

As a taxpayer i would object to my money being spent to kill another defenseless human being, if you want to kill your kid don't ask me to pay for it-that is my attitude and it is a true dividing line which i will never cross.

your taxes are not spend on it, but the contribution made to ZUS on monthly basis from every single individual who is employed in Poland. Taxes are spent on other matters as I am sure you know.

If you don't want all those abortions, please provide homes, food and education to all those to be aborted children then.

The issue is that other then Polish National Health System pays for those abortions, such as UK. Why would UK pay for those abortions? It it NOT the British system responsibility.

It is not the issue that you don't want to take the responsibility for abortions, because you are NOT, unless you make your wife pregnant and then tell her to get an abortion.

However, abortions are part of life and always have been, some people just don't want to see it. In that case, those who oppose should provide solution to the problem eg. more money for raring children, longer maternity leaves etc. Do you know that some Polish employers would not hire pregnant women? What is your opinion on THAT issue?

This map shows, that all this talk about spoiled west culture by some should be rethinked
(of course Polish data are obscured because of restrictive law). Look at the east, it is disaster:

PS. it is some random map from internet though, hard to judge its reliability

the map clearly shows that the poorer the country the more abortions are performed. More less.

It's also interesting how women keep silent about this issue. I mean, we're not living in the Victorian ages anymore?

it is, but I am not, but I don't blame those women since there is always a stigma of a child killer attached to it.

Well, if they keep silent then nothing ever changes, so they shouldn't complain about men doing the talking if they're too scared to speak up themselves, just because they might get called a few names. (Hey, welcome to my world!)

I agree but here in Poland getting an abortion is still stigmatized. I really don't blame them, they would rather go abroad and do it quietly. It is a shame, but that's the way it is at the moment.

I said also. And considering a fact that such Sweden is really rich country it's shocking that the abortion rates are so high.

Russians? No wonder they have population growth on minus...

PS
Are those data realu reliable? I find it shocking to hear that on average every 5th pregnance is aborted (not mentioned Russia where half or most is aborted... but it's obvious that low level of living is the main factor)
