yah and Zubrowka was funny too;)

You should try "Switch" sometimes, a show where the whole TV get's mocked and laughed at. Doesn't matter if German, Pole or Turk, Hitler or whatever.

It is very easy to switch sometimes.

Woodrow Wilson was elected President in 1916 on the platform "Peace Without Victory." That was
right in the middle of the World War I. The population was extremely pacifistic and saw no reason to become involved in a European war. The Wilson administration was actually committed to war and had to do something about it. They established a government propaganda commission, called the Creel Commission which succeeded, within six months, in turning a pacifist population into a hysterical, war-mongering population which wanted to destroy everything German, tear the Germans limb from limb, go to war and save the world. That was a major achievement...

Hmmm....you mean this comedy will make Germans invade Poland again?

Poles should make comedies like these about Germans. It would be a fair deal.

No, we don't. In Poland, Germans are depicted mostly as doctors, philosophers, thinkers, poets, Popes, mostly high-minded people; only sometimes as Hilters, Goebels' and Natzi fanatics, but very, very rarely these days.

Frankly speaking, I do not remember even one. But to settle a score with you, I propose to turn this thread into 'Polish jokes about Germans'. OK?

It's only dumb Polacks (who aren't Polish, but who are definitely sub-human) who are getting offended by this, as per usual.

You should be put in an oven. Can somebody kick this guy off the site?

I found something funny actually.

Okay! :)

Only fair! ;)

Okyy! :)...and I will bring the Brezeln.Only fair! ;)

I do not know if it is fair. I couldn't find a Polish joke about Germans, so here goes the British one:

Do you know why Germans build such high-quality products?

So they won't have to go around being nice while they fix them.

I think that others can tell this season's Geraman jokes. I do not know any.

Here another one:

What do you call a bitter German?

Sauerkraut

:)

Empty screen..

Sounds of 'boing, boing'...

From the left side of the screen comes a pig with a spring on each foot.

It bounds towards and off the right side of the screen.

Message appears at the bottom of the screen...

'Four sprung pork technic'...

Well...here is one I just don't get:

- Wenn ist das Nunstück git und Slotermeyer?
- Ja! Beiherhund das oder die Flipperwaldt gersput.

...maybe it's funny to you?
:)ROFL :)

Why do they bury Germans 20 metres under? Because deep down they are really nice.

...so true! :)

PS: You are hypocrites anyhow...if it would have been "Russian sucht Frau" or "Ukrainian sucht Frau" or any other people Poles don't like you would be all clapping hands.

I agree if we can't learn to laugh at each other we haven't progressed very far. I found the clip pretty good natured. I don't see what the fuss is about. This preciousness must be a POLAM thing.

What's that, dumb racist Polack?

This preciousness must be a POLAM thing.

Definitely seems to be - the Poles I know laughed at the jokes and made comments about going to steal their jobs come May 1st.

Polish Americans, or more accurately, Polacks seem to be rather defensive. Could it be because they're actually of uncertain Slavic peasant origin and not Polish at all? Seems to be so.

I guess the reason Allo Allo was so popular in Poland was the fact that Poland and Poles were never mentioned once, meanwhile the rest of europe had the Royal p!ss taken out of it,none more so than the british in a british made programe...of course,ze germans came a close second in the ridicule stakes :)

  • Dont lets be beastly to ze germans

If the Polish actor playing this guy has no problem with it, why should you?

He doesn't represent Poland.

In any condition, I hope for peace, and I hope the misguided be guided through wisdom and reasoning... repentance must come more and more. Without it the wrong have no hope to be cured...

"Pa. Senator Arlen Specter has found himself in some hot water are reportedly making some Polish jokes at a recent luncheon.
Specter's insensitive joke catalog included one about the man who interrupted him once, saying, "Hey, careful. I'm Polish!" Specter said he responded, "That's OK -- I'll tell it more slowly," according to the NY Post.

No one walked out of the luncheon, according to sources, but it seems that Specter managed to offend both Polish and non-Polish attendees."
It was a bigoted joke meant to be hurtful that was specifically about Poles. Even non Poles found it offensive, good shows people wont stand for it. He said sorry, when??? after he said it, after he accomplished what he wanted in getting his "message" through. I wonder what his reaction would be if someone said a Jewish joke back at him. And this is supposed to be an educated person, acting like inbred trash.

I would feel sorry for the people being "flagged" and put out for ridicule, no one should deserve it. I actually defended a Mexican last weekend, some young white guys were laughing at him and impersonating Speedy Gonzales ,he put his head down in shame, i curved them out.

Not even Germans???

We are "flagged" daily...for being humourless, dour, efficient, nazi roboter....so what!

BB it's all about the severity of the joke, if it's implying that a people are stupid, or drunks, or thieves it's worse than someone going on stereotypes about Italians being in the mafia or a hoodlum, some people might be proud of that see that as a though reputation. Or an Asian knowing karate or being a bad driver is far less offensive than being labeled a dumb drunk.

Okay...I get what you mean!

I'm not sure how to go about I just know from experience that our own turkish/arab comedian who makes a living on playing all possible stereotypes between Arabs/Turks/Germans/Italians/Greeks and so on did more for a better image of Turks with the Germans than all lofty sunday speeches by politicians.

I just think doing the indignant/protest ritual every time somebody makes a joke does NOTHING to better your image.

Poland should really take the mickey out of Germans in the same spirit...I know it worked with our constant mockery rival the English (and the Dutch). That was really mean once but got now much better...

I was just replying to Specter's comments. In America it's different, ethnic jokes are a no no.
