I doubt that 99% of any immigrant group anywhere in the world has ever returned to their country of origin. It never happens.
Britain is full of older immigrants with stories of how they miss 'home' and wish they were back there. People love a good moan.
- Contrary to the media announcements, 99% of Poles working in UK are not immigrants; they don't intend to stay here. They're just guest workers.

It seems to have gone the other way now in the Polish media. Apparently any stories involving negative experiences of Poles in Britain are well publicised so as to discourage anymore of them from leaving. Some dont believe the hype, most do.

but with everything, its a 2 headed coin, we can employ cheaper labour( that doesnt mean exploit) but the 16-21 year olds natives will find it alot more difficult for work.

I dont think its so much that Polish women prefer foreign men, more that foreign men like Polish women and so approach them more often then Polish men will approach foreign women. Hence the disparity.
I know a few Polish women who always thought they would end up with a Polish guy, as that was there preference. However if you go to to a foreign country, esp. Britain, and you are a good looking woman you will be approached pretty much everytime you go out for a drink. Chances are that one of these guys will make the grade and nature will take its course. I dont think this is the case in Poland where approaches are made more through mutual friends and acquaintences. There a lot less 'cold calling' and therevfore vfewer opportunities.

The Polish immigration to Britain is unprecedented in these numbers in this space of time. One cannot say 'oh well, there were a few blacks there anyway, what are they complaining about?!'
Ukrainians share a border with Poland as well as a historic and cultural similarities greater than Poland shares with Britain. A million Irish arriving in Britain wouldnt be seen as as much of an issue for instance.

Fck 'em. Post it anyway as that is the whole purpose of these boards. You probably will have to qualify every negative statement you make with a positive or by saying 'of course it is also the same in other countries' etc
Its a shame we have to pre digest every opinion for the hyper-sensitive amongst us who wants these boards to be a love fest of all things Polish, but unfortunately some people are unable to deal with a concept as complicated as 'context'.
To me the most interesting posts are the ones from ex-pats living in Poland. These posts have validity and basis in fact and experience rather than guesswork so I'd love to know specific experiences you've had, positive or negative.

Does poland lack wealth b/c its just fresh out of communism? Is it because of a lack of natural resources? OR is it because of the work ethic of polish workers? Is it because of the social low standing of poland vs other more well liked places? Its quite humorous how my state produces 4x more goods and services than ur country! Not to mention poland has been around for much longer than cali.

The same thing happens in that bastion of internationalism and European idealism, France. From what I've heard its easier to count the number of countries who have a genuine culture of liberalism in their employment policies (UK, Ireland, Spain etc) then those that dont.
In order for this policy to work the economy of the country involved needs to be as liberal and unrestricted as possible as the employer needs to have the right to hire and fire with a certain amount of ease. In Poland this isnt the case.

Without this the internet is just a big network of unrelated data. This is what has made the internet possible more than any other single creation.

Maybe try what a lot of British people do who live in London- commute. Live outside London, somewhere nicer with a bit of greenery but close enough to London for you to work and go out.
We both like London, have quite "good" jobs, but when thinking about having a family London is just not the right place.
