Its not good for Ireland, paws. 21% of Poles here live off the state. Factor in the other allowances not included in the unemployment figures and it paints a pretty picture indeed. But in fairness to the Poles, their unemployment rate is not as low as some other ethnic groups that planted themselves here. Not to mention our travelling brethren.

This country is f*cking nuts. There was a lad on the radio at the weekend calling for us to issue an extra 80,000 work visas a year. We already have one of the largest foreign born populations in Europe, job displacement is accelerating, debt per capita is scarily high, our youth are heading to Oz and Canada - and the powers to be response "moar immigrants".

I try not to even care anymore. Il only end up grey. The Poles may as well fleece the kip. Its not like we are ever going to pay our debts anyways.

Sounds great alright. The UKs population is set to increase by 15-20 million in the next few decades. Where are you going to house all these people? Rip up the countryside?

Europe should give all those outside of it, and of European descent, 'a right to return' visa to cover any of our labour shortages. These people would integrate, unlike people from the third world.

There are also 14, 000, 000 unemployed people throughout Europe. A lot of these people are skilled. We really, really dont need much more immigration.

Even the Swedish are waking up to this multikulti insanity. SD should do well in the next election. If the muslims keep rioting, then they could do very well indeed(check out hanna wigh ;).

Cull the welfare state and Europeans will regain their work ethic.

We cut welfare by half for the under 25s here. Now when I go into a cafe, supermarket or bar im mostly served by one of my compatriots, under the age of 25.

So, the indigenous unemployment rate is falling, whilst the foreign born rate skyrockets.

We have learned our lesson? Fianna Fail, the party that oversaw the meltdown of the Irish economy are currently the most popular political party in the country (pew poll).

The Irish are one of the thickest ethnicities in Europe and suffer from Stockholm syndrome.

Wanna run a country - just do the opposite to the Irish.

And avoid the Euro like the plague.

Your immigration policy should be based on your needs and not egalitarianism, like us saps in the Celtic/British/Septic Isles. I took a trip to London a few weeks ago - wow! I thought it was bad here in Dublins fair city but London is now spot the white person central. The British, the true Britons, not Pakistanis or Africans - are a minority in their own capital. Crime is through the roof, social cohesion is non existent, innit.. If that is the cost of multiculturalism, you can stuff it. The jack the ripper and some ofthe other tours are pretty cool - along with some of the old boy pubs. Only reason worth visiting London.

Look at Sweden. Went from being one of the most open and safe societies in the world to being labelled as the rape capital of Europe. How? By importing hundreds of thousands of people from the third world. Quite an achievement.

Homogenous nation states are our strength, multiculturalism is a social construct ;)

I believe that all EU countries have to allow access to benefits to all other EU nationals so it's either scrap welfare, which I believe he wants to do, or leave the EU.

Make it that the claimant must be habitually resident in the country for five years before getting a red cent. ;)

In all seriousness, I hear that there is good poke to be made down the Canadian mines. One would have to work flat out for a year, but they could probably go home and buy a house in Poland after that.

And have a nice nest egg stashed away.

That chap Kenney seems like a bit of a snake. He came over here, Ireland, promising people the stars and the moon. A load of tradesmen sold up and relocated. Went over, found out the jobs they were promised were not what they were told beforehand, were let go and left stranded in the middle of nowhere. lol

Had to come home after paying a fortune in visa fees, accommodation, flights and what not. They were on the radio crying about it a few weeks ago.

Canada is facing a shortage of labour, particularly in construction and transport, and hopes that Polish migrants from Britain will be easier to integrate than people coming directly from Poland because they already speak English. Canada's Immigration minister called a meeting with representatives of the Polish community at the Canadian High Commission in London last month, to discuss ways that Poles living in the UK could be poached.

On an official visit to England and Ireland, Jason Kenney boasted to Polish migrants: "Many of you would find a better job in Canada." He added that Canada also had a better economy, better social mobility and a lower cost of living than the UK.

In a speech to Polish expats in Ireland, Mr Kenney said: "The government of Canada is committed to building an immigration system that actively recruits talent rather than passively processing all applications that we receive. There are approximately 200,000 Poles living in Ireland, many with highly advanced skills in the trades needed in Canada's labour market."

Don't worry about it all too much kid, we still hope you'll grow out of your racism, some people do grow out of it.

Scientific studies have shown that people are born "racist." Its only natural to want to live amongst your own kind. Indeed, immigrants tend to stick in their own self imposed enclaves when they move to a new country.

The Common Wealth was much better, we sh-t on them really, we owe a great deal to the commonwealth and the many commonwealth soldiers.

What part of the commonwealth is your ethnic homeland? Pakistan, I guess.

These people come here and 'care not much' whether I live or die, so why now should we care about them?

There is a difference between an immigrant taking an aggressive stance when it comes to its new countries labour market and what this thread is actually about.

And we are all guilty of "letting other people die and not caring about their well being". How many homeless people do we ignore each day?

About ten, at least. For anyone who lives in an urbanised area. It sucks but we cant save the world.

Its just the way it is. :(
